And if you have any clip on the back of the phone (say, to hold the phone in view while you're driving), that's enough to prevent the phone from charging.

Had to keep checking phone to make sure it was charging. Charging was slower than when using a regular wired charger. May have been because of Otterbox case, but I was told by Samsung and Otterbox, it should work fine.

You have to take the phone out of the case for it to charge on the pad. Al;so,, the pad needs to be plugged in for the charging to work; it doe not charge the pad so that you can charge a phone without connecting to an outlet.
