Device does need to be positioned “just right” on the charge pad to start charging. Occasional “charge interrupted” message appears for unknown reason. I do not use this as my primary charger so I can’t say how quickly a full charge takes place, or if it works consistently. It has worked when I use it. There is no “on” indicator light. You only know the device is charging when the red light appears, or when using android, the audible notification is set.
