This one is fixed, upright. The phone also rocks back and forth slightly on the pedestal. It feels unsteady. The bottom of the base heats up within minutes of use. I have concerns about long term use. This was free with my new phone, but I might switch back to my older base and use this for quick, touch up, charges.
