Indeed, I rarely see the little light on the bottom of the item--or the icons on the smartphone which say the phone is recharging whenever I use this device. I had to go back to plugging in my smartphone with a power cord. I am NOT a happy camper.

On awaking the next morning the phone was pretty warm and had split open. I have 2 others of these from Samsung and are great. This one cost me to get a new phone. I am sure this was simply a defective charger at a significant cost to me.

The one star is for the rude associates at the Best Buy Store in Carmel Mountain Ranch. Charger was backordered on pickup it was just handed off without checking ID.
