In order to use the full functionality of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 in its Samsung DeX Interface mode, I recommend purchasing this book cover keyboard case. It comes with a holder for your S-pen and provides protection for the tablet. The stylus holder is removable if you prefer not to use it. The book cover also serves as a stand to prop your tablet for use while typing in landscape orientation. The keys on the laptop are smaller and it takes a couple of minutes to get used to the size, but I was able to type on it using 10-finger typing. I would have given it 5 stars if the following issues has been addressed: (1) the stylus fell out of the holder a few times which means I will no longer trust it for storing the stylus while carrying the tablet. I made a felt envelope for carrying it in my purse or briefcase. While carrying it in my hand, I hold it so that the stylus is against my palm; (2) the stylus holder came off of the tablet when I gave the tablet to a friend to hold while viewing a slide show - although it has never come off when I was using it; (3) only one angle is available while the tablet is docked in the keyboard; (4) since the tablet fits in the book cover so snugly, it is difficult to remove it; (5) due to reason #4, I don't remove the book cover when I'm not using the keyboard. This results in me needing to fold the book case cover behind the tablet, causing me to press the keys on the keyboard while holding the tablet. Or I can set the tablet down on a table to use it but I have to lay the tablet down with the keys against the table. I would wish for some sort of protection for the keyboard when it is in this position. In order to protect the keyboard, I use the felt envelope I made over the keyboard when it is folded behind the tablet. Those are minor issues and I have been able to find solutions for them, which means that Samsung could surely have done so if they had tried. Overall, I recommend this product because I almost always use the tablet while in the DeX mode.

Where do I start... This cover is perfectly designed. The appearance and how well it complements the tablet - it is so sleek and looks so professional, like the tablet is supposed to be in this case from the start. The keyboard itself is so comfortable to use and the buttons are perfectly sized. AND it is the perfect stand for the tablet! I also really love the DEX mode feature, I just honestly haven't used it enough yet. I'll say that it definitely was pricey but I don't regret the purchase one bit. Oh, one very minor thing that needs fixing: the S pen holder. My pen constantly falls out, it just doesn't fit well.

Once I put this on my tablet, it never came off. It's the sort of tech you can just forget about because it's super easy to set up (just put it on the tablet, no pairing or charging), it just works, and always keeps working. It's great for typing, protection, and even just propping the tablet up. The S4, in my opinion, is only complete with this on it. The Dex thing feels sort of half-baked, but just using it as a normal tablet with either fullscreen or partitioned apps works just fine. The fabric started to separate from the rest of the case in one corner of the back after about a year, but it's hard to notice and hasn't really gotten worse.

This cover is great, it is very light and the keys feel comfortable unlike other smaller keyboards I've used before. I also like how slim it is considering it has a keyboard. I love the fact that there is mo need to charge or turn the keyboard on or off, it's always ready to go. I'm not to crazy with the placement of the pen holder but it is easily removed and reattached.

Best Samsung smart case!I have had a Samsung tab as three tablet and the case at this one so far is much better than the previous one it also has a pen holder for the pants will be held steady.

Looks great and easy to use. It's like having a laptop but alot smaller. Easy to set up with my Samsung tap 4 just connect my tablet to the keyboard and that's it, it work, my kid loves it's

I purchased the Samsung Keyboard to go with the newly purchased Samsung Tab 4. Love it. Its very responsive and the pen is just like using a real writing utensil. Recomend this addition to you Tab 4.

I acquired the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 (10.5" - 64GB) and after watching some videos on the accessories, I decided to purchase the Book Cover Keyboard. Because I didn't simultaneously purchase the Table S4, I wasn't eligible to get the half off discount for the book cover keyboard, so I paid full price. I was looking for durable protection and a keyboard for productivity. So far, I really like it, though I have only had it for less than a week and I haven't used it much. I like that the book cover keyboard isn't too heavy. I had bought one for my iPad about 5 years ago and that weighed a ton! I don't think the stylus holder is a secure as I would want it to be, but it does click into place. I am afraid that if seriously jostled, it will fall out and get lost. The cover stays closed through a powerful magnet. The keyboard powers up due to the connection points with the Tab S4 when it is being charged, so there is no separate bluetooth connection or need to charge the keyboard separately. As soon as the powered up S4 is placed into position on the keyboard, the tablet turns on from sleep mode. The keyboard is immediately recognized and jumped into DeX (desktop) mode. That can be turned on and off in the Settings control. I love the control bar/icons on the bottom (like Windows 10) so I can open up Microsoft programs. The keyboard is set up like my laptop, so it feels like I am working on my laptop. It does lack volume/media buttons and several quick commands (page up, down), but there are shortcuts. There is no mousepad, but I like using the stylus as I am used to a Note and a touchscreen. I recommend watching some YouTube videos to see how to best use both the Tab S4 and the Book cover keyboard to maximize the efficiency and functionality. After all, it is no fun to have a device that you barely know how to use, now is it?

I bought the S4 Tab for a specific purpose--a month long trip where I didn't want the bulk of a regular, compact laptop, and where I wanted good battery life, so my wife could use it as a reader. I also wanted the ability to use it as a "near" computer for occasional word processing. So, I got the unit... and I got the 64 GB, partly because the 256 GB wasn't available in the store, and partly because adding memory myself (I put in a 128 GB SD Card) is cheaper and easy enough. I also got the keyboard/cover, which was discounted 50% in the early days of the sale. My comments: - Battery life is fantastic - Display is beautiful and very dense. I haven't gotten a USB-C to HDMI cable yet, but I'm sure it will work... there are plenty of dots. - It's fast. I was initially a bit concerned that it had last years processor ... some Samsung stuff, and a Snapdragon 835 instead of this year's 845, but that hasn't been a problem. - From spec-surfing, and my experience with the 835 in my S8, i would have thought that 6 GB of RAM would have been more appropriate than 4.... under modest use there's about 1 to 1.4 GB of Ram free. But, it seems to be enough, I haven't run out. - DEX is interesting, and I hope they keep working on it. You can use the keyboard in DEX mode, or in tablet mode where you have a mix of touch and keyboard. That's for evenings when you're stuck in a motel. - The keyboard/jacket is... well, OK. You could get a nice jacket for ten bucks on Amazon and a Logitech K380 (or equivalent) bluetooth keyboard. It will pair with any bluetooth keyboard. That rig, and a bluetooth mouse, will take a bit more space in your laptop bag, but probably be a bit more flexible. - the S-Pen is occasionally nice. I haven't mastered its cut/copy settings. One thing to note is that the Samsung jacket has a somewhat flimsy arrangement for clipping in the S-Pen holder, but its better than nothing. It's not a slick assembly like the older Note phones had, where the S-Pen slid right in. All in all, a very nice product, although expensive, which will probably be a great product with the next rev in a couple of years.

Beautiful, well made product. I love flipping from Samsung DeX to tablet mode and back again. The magnetic thingy that keeps the tablet in place works well. Plus I love not having to charge the keyboard separately. My only complaint is how the S-pen holder attaches; mine was slightly warped out of the package and didn't clip in well, and the ridges are kinda shallow, so the holder pulled away easily. Luckily I'm patient and careful and eventually got it flattened out and in place, but someone could easily lose the S-pen and its little holster, if not careful at first.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is a tablet perfect for students and business people. From the free S-Pen to the multitasking features of its software, it is a way to go for productivity and business. 1. Portability (9/10) -Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is thin and light without the case. it is not too big, and not too small. The size of the screen and body are perfectly balanced. The tablet will not easily slip out of your hands if you're holding it without a case. Even with a case, I can carry it comfortably with one hand while walking. 2.Display (10/10) -The display of this device is outstanding. You will enjoy watching videos on Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, and other video streaming websites/apps. The AMOLED display of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 makes the texts and pictures appear crisp and clear. The colors are vibrant and well saturated; and you can also tone them down in the settings. 3. Speakers (9/10) -The speakers are loud , and it is useful if you are listening to an audiobook, video, or music while studying, hanging out with friends, and doing the house chores. Its speakers are not comparable to iPad Pro because the Tab S4's speakers are lacking bass. The speaker's clarity of this tablet is crystal clear. 4. Battery Life (10/10) -The Tab S4's battery life is outstanding. I actively use this tablet to take down notes, watch videos, read e-books, browse the internet, check social media and email. The battery life can last 1.5 day - 2 days of active use. 5.S-Pen (10/10) -Writing on this tablet is a breeze. I prefer writing on this tablet than on papers. I save tons of money and trees. The accuracy of the S-Pen depends on the app you are using, but it is 99% accurate for me.

I honestly don't use the keyboard much, but it is handy to have. There just were not that many options for covers when I bought the tablet, and there was some discount for buying the keyboard cover at the same time as the tablet, so I got it. It makes a great cover, and a pretty good stand. I can configure it to go into Dex mode whenever the keyboard is attached, but I don't care much for Dex mode. I like that it's thin and that you can fold it back in a way that doesn't expose the keyboard when I just want to use the tablet as a tablet. I read other reviews that complain about the stylus holder not holding the stlyus very well... that the stylus comes loose and falls out easily. I haven't had that problem.

Good quality. Provides good protection. Keyboard clicks into place securely. Holder for stylus pen is kind of awkward as it's mounted outside of the case. (Although it is detachable..which is how I use it. I just carry the stylus separately.) But you have make sure the stylus pen is securely inserted in the cap or it could easily fall out and get lost. If not for the stylus issue, I would have given it 5 stars. But I'd say it's a good 4 1/2 star rating. Would recommend.

I like using. It provide good protection for the Notebook in addition to having the keyboard. The price is over the top in my opinion. It gets the job done. If you spend lots of time on computer and you do not want to be bothered with bulky laptop or desktop, this is a convenient way to go.

I’m an early adoptor of all new electronics and as such am usually forced to deal with what ever accessories are available day one. That being said I love this case. The keyboard does what it needs to do and the pen holder is nice but I feel it could be located in a different position. That aside it is a perfectly acceptable case/keyboard for day to day use.

I am glad I bought the keyboard. It works great. It connects easy and is easy to type on. The DEX mode it pretty cool. But you really need a wireless mouse to operate it best. The cons; I wish it would turn on and off the tablet when I open and close it. The only way it will automatically power on and off is if you dock or undock it. Using the tablet in a tablet style, folding the keyboard behind and and then closing it, will not power it on or off, like other smart covers. It is kind of a bummer. The only other con is the pen holder. It is great to have a pen holder, but it is an awkward spot and the holder doesn't stay attached to the case. It pops off frequently. I think I may super glue it.

At first I tried to avoid buying this keyboard because of the price. I tried a few aftermarket keyboard/case combos and they all made the tablet look bulky, sloppy and just unappealing. It made my $600 tablet look like trash. Anyway, I purchased this keyboard case from Samsung and couldn't be happier. I should have just purchased it from the beginning. Works flawlessly. No need to charge it. It would be a 5 star review if they could have integrated a small mouse pad. Overall SUPER happy!

I really love the book cover keyboard for my tablet. The tablet fits really well and the keyboard helps a ton when I need to type a lot. I gave it four stars because the pen holder that it comes with doesn't keep the pen in very well. It always falls out so I feel like that could be better and also I wish their were other colors than just black. Other than that I love it and I'm very happy I bought it!!
