Customers praise the Flex Duo range's double oven, ease of use, and attractive appearance. Many appreciate the numerous features offered by the appliance. However, some users have reported issues with the grates, knobs, and convection fan. These concerns, while present, appear to be less prevalent than positive feedback.

Great oven!

I’ve had this oven for close to a year now and it is awesome. Heats up quickly and accurately. Stovetop does everything from very very low to extremely high power. The split oven feature is the highlight of this appliance. It works exactly as you want it to, switching from one oven to two is quick and easy. The big oval burner is great for pancakes and anything that requires medium low heat, not for grilling though. Broiler is great. Haven’t messed with the dehydrater much yet but it seems to work properly. Great appliance and worth the money.

Works. Bad Design

First of all, if you do get this I highly recommend getting the Geek Squad protection. We had an issue and BB was awesome in resolving because of this; we also got a matching Samsung product without GS Protection - going on two weeks and still no resolution with Samsung.
Our unit had a defect - thank god - and we were able to return it no charge. The good: This looks nice in the kitchen at first, and we liked the flex duo oven for the most part. The Bad: Whenever we cooked anything in the oven, the range top to include anything else sitting on top would get too hot to the touch. It's like there was no insulation between the oven and the range top!. The controls on the back are tough to see - I have to turn on our MW's light to see them. Setting options (like the clock) was a pain - too many taps needed and you have to either use the manual or remember which of the nine options govern the setting you are interested in (I think option 9 was the clock for example). The range top (with Black SS) get's extremely dirty very quickly and is hard to keep clean. There is no way to simply keep things warm or simmer - setting burner on its lowest setting still results in burnt spaghetti sauce (see also hot top from earlier comment - cannot simply move non-active burner if you are cooking in the oven at the same time). No light or anything to let you know if range top is still hot. On one occasion, the wife accidentally started the range when she leaned over to tap the oven controls! Overall unsafe design. Highly recommend reading the manual from front to cover - racks inside the oven have to go on specific racks to ensure you cook specific foods properly - way too complicated IMO. Bottom line - looks good and has a ton of neat features on paper, but does not deliver. If you ignore the reviews and just have to get this - get the Geek Squad Protection.

Idea was great and works great as one oven. If you use the divider cooks way too hot and burns most things even turning oven to lower temperatures.

Error codes

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I was excited for this appliance but can only say it's OK at best. I thought having a split oven would be a great feature but in order to use only the top, it only heats using the broiler. So every time it needs to regulate it's heat, the broiler goes on and burns food. I have also had issues with being able to use the oven over 400F. Anything above that (and I like to bake bread) malfunctions the main board. A few times I had to reset the oven at the electrical box bc it just would not come out of an error mode. If you use the back burners, that too causes the electrical board to malfunction. We have also had at random times it turning the timer on by itself or random error codes just popping up - when NO ONE was using it! I don't believe that I would buy Samsung again.

Hi there, Congratulations on your new Samsung Range. You should know that this unit is not designed to just use one portion of the oven when the unit has the Flex Duo Divider installed. You should use both upper and lower portions for the unit to be able to maintain a correct temperature. See link below: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00060968/ Thank you for choosing Samsung. ^Brad

Double oven useless for turkeys.

Divider not moveable so useless if you want to cook a turkey in one and sides in the other. Takes the whole oven for the turkey. I want my old kitchen aid true double oven back. Samsung should have left the bottom drawer off and made the bottom oven bigger and separated the doors. If you want to take something out of the bottom oven tiu must open the whole door which effects what’s cooking in the top part of the oven. I wish i had done more research ahead of my purchase. Very disappointed!

STAY AWAY from Samsung Appliances!
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
STAY FAR AWAY from Samsung appliances. They may make great phones but forget anything else. We've had this oven since mid-2018 and it's had nothing but problems.
Search the internet for the KNOB problems on all Samsung ranges. The main structural part is made of plastic that CANNOT withstand heat so it cracks and fails. Not only that, this leads to the knob turning on too easily meaning you can be spewing gas and not know it. DANGEROUS!
Official replacement knobs are $100 or more. There are five of them. Is that not ridiculous? Not only that, the official ones are STILL the crappy plastic failing design.
Also when you use the oven, the heat exhaust overheats the main circuit board so the controls go haywire, making it impossible to cook. You know, the VERY FUNCTION of this appliance. It also degrades the LED readability over time - we can no longer tell what some of the digits are.
There is only a one-year warranty on all of this then prepare to open your wallet to keep your appliance running. We're getting rid of this crap first chance we get and get something far more reliable and well-built.
Bottom line, stay AWAY from Samsung. You've been warned.

6 Months and Problems Already

We've had this oven for 6 months now and we have already called it in for service. The board is fried and bent out of shape from the heat, right where you make the number selections. Numbers 4, 8, 9 are difficult to engage. The oven also threw a C-A2 error for overheating. The oven is powerful but won't last long based on what we have experienced so far. I wish they would make appliances how they used to.

Don’t use the self clean!!
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Purchased the stove in December 2018. Seriously, I used the oven TWICE. Then, when baking the 3rd time, pie filling spilled, so I used the self cleaning feature. It ran the minimum amount of time possible. After that, the oven wouldn’t heat. A “door” error message popped up on the display. So far, there have been two service calls: replaced the door latches and the display panel. It’s not fixed yet. The geek squad told me that (probably) the self clean fried the wires to the sensor that controls the divider between the ovens.
Hmmm? Offering a feature that destroys the functionality of the product? Samsung, what were you thinking? After researching, this appears to be a fairly common issue. I’d suggest you look that up before purchasing this.
The oven is STILL not fixed. They’re coming tomorrow to try again.
If you’re buying this model, get the extended warranty!! Better yet, find a different brand!

Horrible!!!!

This thing is junk. The internal fans rattle, to the point that we removed the upper one. The starter stops working for the top range, and we have to unplug it to reset this thing multiple times a month. It's been an over priced problem since after the 1st year we owned it. Samsung usually makes decent products, but this isn't one of them. The stove thermostat is never the right temp. It does a great job at self cleaning, that's the only real positive I have for this stove. If you use the center burner, don't expect to be able to use the other 4, unless your using a tiny pot, or pan.

Hello there.
We want you to love and enjoy using your range. Let's go ahead and check possible fixes.
Your range or cooktop can be quite noisy in certain circumstances. Please check this link for details.
Samsung cooktop and range sounds and operational noises https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01110180/
There are two fans in the oven. The internal cooling fan helps keep the electronics cool, and the convection fan, which is visible at the back of the oven and circulates heated air for more thorough cooking. Please check this link for details.
Samsung oven fan is making a noise, not working, or won't turn off https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01001942/
Seeing something strange happening on your gas stove, cooktop, or range can be scary, but fortunately, in most situations, the explanation is simple and easily corrected. Please check this link for details.
Flame issues on Samsung gas cooktop or range https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01001946
A gas cooktop is often one of the most used appliances in the kitchen, so it will need attention to keep it clean and looking new. Please check this link for details.
How to clean your Samsung gas cooktop https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00049945/
Whether your oven is too hot, not hot enough, takes too long to get hot, or doesn't get hot at all, it can cause a lot of issues. Please check these links for details.
Samsung oven temperature issues https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01204529/
When it's time to make an adjustment, you can calibrate your oven's temperature (up to 35°F higher or lower) instead of altering your recipes every time you cook. Please check this link for details.
Calibrate your oven's temperature https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00049012/
We recommend you do not place a small pan or pot with a bottom diameter of about 6 inches or less on the center grate. This cookware may tip over. Use the rear burners for this small-sized cookware—6 inches or less.
Please check this link to your user manual for details. Turn to pages 17 to 19. https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/202103/20210308173729692/NX58K7850SS_AA_AC_DG68-00787A-08_EN.pdf

Unfortunately, I got an error code (C-A2) on the oven the minute the installer left my house. Then I got stuck in a "not my problem" situation between Best Buy and Samsung. I'm disappointed in customer service from both parties. This was a brand new oven and now, we have no oven until we can return this large paperweight

Good concept does not live up to the goal

I have been trying to get used to this for 2 years. My two issues are how the dual-zone is implemented and the Wok burner.
The top oven burns good if used separately. The heating element is too close and the fan blows the heat across the food and if they are not covered they burn. I.e. if you put a pizza slice in on a stone to warm it up, it is burned in minutes. what use is dual-zone if one zone cannot be used? The wok burner does not concentrate the heat in the middle of the burner. Too much heat is lost to the sides of the wok. The stainless steel is not stainless and really shows any smudges and does not clean well. I am very disappointed in this and the refrigerator we got from Samsung, I would not buy their appliances again.

Purchased in Late 2019 and never cooked evenly since day 1. I will now have to pay hundreds of Dollars to repair and call for service. Turn oven on and it will not ignite and temp resets to 175, no matter what you do. Bought entire suite of Samsung appliances and every piece has needed service. Products are garbage and they don't stand behind them.

Warning, Samsung gas stoves are dangerous. I purchased a Samsung gas stove from Best Buy and after less than a year the valve on the front left burned became jammed and would not allow me to turn the burner off. I eventually had to shut off the gas because the burner valve stem just would not. Although Samsung told me it was still under warranty, they refused to pay to replace their defective valve. Do not buy a Samsung gas stove.

Has anyone had issues with the plastic piece around the circuit board in the drawer being broken?
Which in turn, causes the oven door to rub against the bottom drawer making a loud noise and popping the drawer out? This is now the second unit I’ve received this week with the same issue.
