Customers are saying

Customers value the double oven feature of the Flex Duo range, frequently praising its ease of use. However, some customers have reported issues with the glass top, citing concerns about scratching, bubbling, and cleaning difficulty. A smaller number of users also mentioned inconsistencies with the oven's temperature control. Overall, the positive feedback on the double oven and ease of use appears to outweigh the negative comments regarding the glass top and temperature regulation.

    No more stress when cooking

Decided to go with the dual oven option, but was a little hesitant about the price. I don't regret my decision at all. I am so happy with the dual option and flex option. The oven is big enough to cook large meals but convenient enough to cook smaller meals. I no longer stress about temperature or timing of the meals extremely convenient. The stovetop is sensitive. Be careful of which pots or pans you use on stovetop it can easily be scratched.

Awesome product! Looks great and lots of features and options with the oven as well as on the stove top. Dual door allows for cooking/baking at 2 different temperatures which is awesome! There's also a warming drawer at the bottom which is nice. Stove top has a lot of nice features like fast boil and warming station. Overall product is a little pricey, but well worth it! Highly recommend!

Great Oven when not needing repair

I have thoroughly enjoyed this oven and my husband and I both utilize the flex convection daily. It is so much nicer than the microwave for heating or reheating many items. The solid black top does show everything all the time and needs to be cleaned daily from any grease splatters. Now in a little over a year I have had two occasions where the oven door locks and will not open. The first happened a month when it was still in warranty and Samsung replaced circuit boards and the door latch. Only 3 1/2 months later from that repair the same issue again. It is now out of the Samsung warranty but we did get the Best Buy extended warranty and they will be coming out. So...if you don't have issues with the door locking where you cannot retrieve your cooked food....it is a great oven. If you want an oven where the oven door is reliable and will open as needed.....maybe keep looking.

    Problems, problems!

After 6 months, the upper over door latch was sticking and wouldn't open when upper over heated up. Fast Boil was never faster than regular burner boiled. Geek Squad service tried replacing the upper door, but all replacements arrived broken. Finally I was approved for replacement. 9 months later, the oven door latch sticks when opening/closing both doors. Upper door doesn't open at all. After real world use for 9 months, the concept of this stove is stellar. For regular family cooking/baking, it would is great. Cooking Christmas dinner was flawless. Heating rolls in warming drawer, filet mignon in lower oven, side dishes in upper oven. Pasta and sauce on stove top. Only having 1 large burner was an adjustment, but not impossible. If Samsung could get this stove straight, it'd be awesome....but alas, I wouldn't buy another one, nor will I replace it with the same model without buying another Service Plan.

Horrible Product and Horibble Customer Service

I have a cake business and I have been trying to bake cakes in the Samsung Freestanding Flex Duo Electric Range with Dual Door. I have had it looked at, I have had it calibrated, I had to throw 8 cakes in 1 week. The single oven is great however the double oven is not. The top oven comes in 40 degrees too low and the bottom comes in 30 degrees to high. This is just with a few different degree scenarios with 350 and 425 degrees. I cannot use both ovens at the same time. I bought this oven for the double ovens specifically. I have talked to customer support and said that this is just the way it is made and the insert is not able to keep the temperatures different. This is unacceptable. This is not a double oven and consumers should know that they can not use the double ovens. Even the technicians say that it cannot be fixed and it is the product. Samsung will not give me money back and told me to deal with it. This is unacceptable and I am losing income daily due to this situation. Very unhappy customer. We used to love Samsung, every appliance and electronic in our household are Samsung.

Ok performance but too many reliability issues

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this same model in 2016. It's an ok performer, but that's overshadowed by poor reliability. My wife and I like the controls- they're easy and intuitive. The stovetop has a triple burner that heats things very quickly. That said, there are four problems with this unit. First, reliability. The bearings on the convection fan went bad after about 2 years of use. An infinity switch went bad a year later. The triple-burner broke just this week. There are some additional day -to-day issues which include poor temperature control in the oven; the "hot stove" indicator lamp dislodges and falls into the back of the unit (need to open up the unit to put back in place); and any drips from the stovetop (spills, or even when cleaning) find their way between the oven glass, making it look like a mess. Given the ok performance and poor reliability issues, I wouldn't recommend this range.

Great Concept Poor Quality - Run the other way

We have had this product for 24 months and I am shopping this week to replace it. This product design with the double door with safety lock with storage below is great, especially in a home with small children. However, the quality of this product is terrible. In month 8 the "Black Stainless" started to flake off around the handle. Contacted Samsung and was told this was "cosmetic" and not a "problem" other than it looks terrible. If you search the net you'll find tons of claims of this same problem across all their black stainless appliances. In month 13 the top convection motor starting making a grinding noise - I contacted Samsung and as expected I was out of warranty. I attempted to order the part but had to wait 60 days due to backlog (they obviously fail often with that type of backlog for a replacement part). In month 16, my lower convection motor went out. Again, another call and replacement part ordered. This past week the "Hot Surface" light started to stay on. After some quick research I determined that it was the element switch under the glass. This model requires me to replace the entire element as the switch can not be detached. Worst thing I did was NOT buy the Best Buy warranty on this appliance. I normally do, but didn't and I kick myself for it. Stick to Samsung TV's - that's what they are good for, run from any other appliance with a Samsung Name on it.

    glasstop samsung 5.9 rang

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Purchased this last november, within 6 months glasstop peeling paint. Samsung considers this cosmetic, but it is a true defect, since I followed instructions on cleaning product. Samsung will not admit they have a problem with peeling glass tops,.... Have had previous glasstops before and never had paint peel. costs $300 to repair and $100 for service call=cost of new oven. Samsung needs to improve their glasstops so they don't peel. Poor warranty, no matter what it will be called cosmetic problem... They will not cover.

Up until the warranty expired everything worked well. Two months after the warranty expired the upper oven temperature control stopped working intermittently. The repairman says he can't diagnose it if it is working when he comes out. In the meantime, it makes it difficult to plan meals, let alone entertain if we don't know it will work or not. We paid a lot of money and expected better.

We love the cooktop. The oven is terrible. It never held the temperature correctly since purchase. After 8 months the oven door wouldn't stay closed properly causing the convection mode to turn off and on. We returned it. Probably won't be buying Samsung again.

    Buyer Beware!

This glass cook top is a true disappointment. It fractured and left 3 pitted holes in the middle of the large burner, just boiling some water. The reason this happened is truly a mystery. Samsung will not honer the 5-year cook top warranty; it's not worth the paper it's written on. They only say it's owner error or "cosmetic" - in this case, not covered because it's "physical damage." Of course it's physical damage!! I thought you were supposed to be able to cook on a cook top! Maybe not with Samsung! Something is wrong with the quality of the glass on this thing, I suppose, but Samsung does not stand by their products at all. This piece of inferior garbage replaced a perfectly fine Kitchen Aid glass cook top, because of a kitchen remodel. I had the Kitchen Aid for 10 years with no problem at all, certainly not with the glass melting and pitting! But this Samsung was damaged due to some type of malfunction after only 14 months of very light and careful use. Never again.

After 3 1/2 years the oven died, the burners died, the board died, the sound stopped working, and the glass top started bubbling. They have tried to fix it 4 times and it still doesn't work. (I did have the extended warranty). It started having problems with the lights, timer and oven months before I finally called for service and then it just got worse. Don't waste your money!! We bought the whole kitchen set 3 1/2 years ago and we already had to replace the refrigerator and now the oven!!!

    Horrible stove/oven

We purchased this oven from Best Buy. We have since spent nearly $700 to try to get it to work right. We have had the main circuit board replaced twice, new fan that burned up, new thermostats and, nothing has worked. Will not keep a temperature. Usually 75-100 degrees below the setting. Told by the service tech that Samsung has horrible appliances. Will never purchase Samsung again. The appliances he recommended were Whirlpool, Maytag and Kitchen Aid. Save your money and purchase something else.

Stove stop great, double oven not as expected

I really like the stove top. The large knobs are great and there is a "burner" size for ever pan size. The heat temperatures are very even. The dual oven I would not recommend. It probably would be a good oven if you cook a lot of meats or pizzas. I do not and am a baker. I have yet to bake a really good bread, pie, or cookies with the new oven.

    Inconsistent

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have had this oven for well over a year now and wish I had chosen a different one. It cooks very inconsistently and knobs in the top for heating the stove are not very accurate either. I have been very frustrated with our purchase. Just burnt another batch of cinnamon rolls, which prompted this review. Baking something, on the "bake" mode for 3 min less than the shortest recommended time should not leave the bottoms black.
