They paired up almost instantly and automatically as soon as I opened the case. The ambient aware feature is amazing and is actually better than normal hearing at the higher levels. Only con is that the sound quality is not as great as the Bose SoundSport wireless set but these aren't really meant to be audiophile grade pods, just a very useful and practical set.
