The Good, the bad and the ugly...

I don't know if I consider myself an audiophile (I'd like to say I do), but my wife says I'm so picky to a point its ridiculous sometimes. lol .. what can I say... I want perfection in everything I buy so I nitpick something to death for just about everything and anything electronic. I figured if I'm spending this kind of money on something, I plan on keeping it for a while and I want it to work and work right... and sound right! That's not to much to ask... so in reference to the earbuds, I couldn't make up my mind. It was between the Samsung Buds2 Pro, Bose in ear Sports and the Bose QuietComfort earbuds. So what do you do when you can't make up your mind? .. thats right, you buy all 3. Although this is not recommended, this is what I did because I have never heard all three and needed to make up my mind once and for all. (well at least until the next pair I guess) BestBuy has a really good return policy so I figured, what do I have to loose. I initially tested the Bose QuietComforts based on the reviews and recommendation from a Geek Squad member. (Now, you have to take into consideration that I have been using the BT - Bose SoundSports for about the last 5 to 6 years so I had high expectations when it came to this model. The SoundSports were my go to for Gym usage and around the yard or house... but they recently started falling apart. Resolution... get another pair) So based on the QuietComforts, my first thoughts were... WOW!!! ... these are amazing! Crisp highs and brain rattling lows. I haven't had Noise Cancelling in the past, so when I tried them out for the first time, I was blown away! I heard that Bose is one of the best when it comes to ANC and I believe it. I had my wife yell right next to me and I couldn't even hear her. I was thinking to myself of course, these are FREAKING AWWWWSUUUUMMMM! LOL... so moving on... sound was good, ANC was good and app was good. Several features to access. ANC you have full access, preset EQ settings along with full EQ control. Etc... Etc... but noticed something not so great shortly there after. The fit and comfort... so because the Bose were so much more bigger an heavier, I noticed and felt a little ear fatigue. Again... sound was great, but for long usage (more than an hour or so) they were starting to hurt. I went on to use these for about a week to continue testing and I even tried to change ear pieces thinking that this could be the issue. I did feel the pressure from the larger ear pieces I was using, so that could have been the issue? ... well, NO... not it. I tried to a smaller pair as well and then I couldn't get a good seal to produce the lows I was expecting, nor could I get the ANC to kick in like it was before... so needless to say, that was a little disappointing. I didn't get this same feeling from my old Bose... they were very comfortable so maybe they were broke in a little different... but maybe not. Maybe the design has slightly changed and I guess just not in my favor. Sounds quality was A+, but the fit and comfort was a C-. Also to add, I figured if I couldn't get these to fit right, why try to Bose sport headphones... they would probably just be the same. So next I jumped to the Samsung Buds2 Pro. My initial thought... "Ok... not bad... not the Bose sound I was looking for, but again not bad". As I continued to use them for the first night, I got deep in the Samsung app to see what options I could get into. I have to say... the Samsung app for the Buds2 Pros were amazing! A lot more features to access in this case (in comparison to the Bose) I guess because I have a Samsung phone. I was also told previously, these would give me more options with the Samsung phone as well. As I continued to wear them for the night, I was easily getting used them and quick too. Very easy to wear and because of there size, they were hardly noticeable walking around or laying down. Super lightweight and fit snug into the ear canal believe it or not. I wouldn't have believed anyone about the fit if they told me only based on the physical design, but after wearing them, I have to say they fit nicely. They haven't even attempted to shake loose at all in any of my normal routines. I continued to try them out for a week as I did the previous pair. Fit was really good... still very comfortable even walking around, at the Gym or at the house. So far, so good.... comfort on these, I'd give a B+/A- .. same on sound quality. The sound seems "close" to the Bose but not the same. I feel the sound was producing more mids and clearer vocals but not the pounding lows like the Bose had. (very close though... but again, not the same) Also, the ANC was not easily achieved like the Bose either. I assume the Bose had more mics on the earbuds (due to size) to drown out more of the ambient sound... thus producing better noise cancelling in this case. Samsung was doing a decent job trying to keep up with the ANC, but hands down, the Bose had this option as the clear winner. Now I bet you're wondering... after all that, why didn't the Samsung get any higher of score? .. Here's some of the down falls in my own opinion: 1. Although the fit on the Samsung is whole lot better (to me) than the Bose offered in this case, the Buds2 Pro are so small, they are a little hard to remove from your ear. I have to sort of "dig them out" to get them out of my ear... now this could be just me being "nitpicky", but if you've read the start of my review... I'm the nitpick King! So there you go... Although the comfort is there, I don't feel I should have to "Dig" the earbuds out. They could have made them a little more accessible by tweaking the design on this in my opinion. 2. When you want to push the buds into your ear a little more or maybe just "adjusting" them, you take the risk of pushing one of the option buttons on the earbuds. This could turn up or down the volume, or stop the track, or whatever.. this is a little annoying when all you want to do is just adjust a little. I contribute this to how small the earbuds are. They are tiny in comparison to what I've seen or used in the past. So tiny, you could possibly loose one if you're not careful. Now this could be a third issue, but I won't waste any more of your time harping on something else. (I've already said to much in my opinion.. lol) 3. I mentioned the Samsung app was pretty amazing with several options to choose from to customize your earbuds... but .... in my opinion, there were some features they could have added a little more user control. I'll give a couple examples. With the Bose, you have full control over the ANC (active noise cancelling) features. I can set it to full ANC to block out everything or adjust it manually to hear ambient sound. With the Samsung, I get 3 options. Full ANC on, ANC Off and Full Ambient sound on. I cannot adjust how much I want from one or the other. Its either 'on' or 'off'. Another is with the Bose, I have full control over the EQ settings. It offered preset EQ's as well as full control of Frequencies curves. This was great to really pinpoint the sound quality you're looking for. With the Samsung, there are only presets. Now having said that, the presets are really good and the sound quality is really close (not the same - but close). I change the presets to achieve the sound I want, but it would have been nice to have full control like the Bose offered. Having said all this above, I would hope this would help someone make up their mind if they were on the fence about a few things. The review I've posted are only my own opinions and your opinions and experience could be much different based on your liking and expectations. I would say overall, these Samsung headphones were for me, based on my experiences and what I was looking for. The sound quality was so close in this comparison, that what won me over was the overall comfort and usability. For me... the Samsung gets the higher score due to this reason. Although others I've talked to would much rather have the Bose in this situation, I can't blame them. They were great as well! ... but it comes down to what sounds and fits the best for the end user. In this case... Sorry Bose... but the Samsung got it it this time.

I'll start with saying I love these. I just wish the battery life was a little longer with the noise canceling and ambient sounds on. Other than that the sound quality and comfort is amazing. I pretty much always have them in my ear unless I'm sleeping or they're charging.

This a good product for people with a samsung device. The noise canceling is good and the bass has punch. The only thing is that the controller on the ear plugs are hard to work, answering, ending calls and it doesn't always read text messages aloud.

Fit is good but would like it if they had an extra size in-between the large and small eartips that they came with. Overall sound quality is good.

Good product, easy to use, but did not come with any instructions so you are forced to look them up online for the initial pairing. Sound quality and fit are great, and the charge seems to last for around 4-5 hrs of regular use.

My original Airpods were getting old and could no longer hold battery life. I used them for my work computer, Zoom meetings, and my Iphone before I purchased a Galaxy S22 Ultra. Since switching to the Galaxy Buds2 Pro I now realize that I was missing out on a metric TON of sound quality and quality of life improvements. The audio sounds crystal clear compared to the Apple earbuds. On top of that, it syncs much more seamlessly with Windows and Android. If you have an Android phone or use your earbuds on a Windows computer I would recommend these 10 times over Apple's product.

The sound quality is absolutely amazing! Not to mention the head tracking and noise cancelling make the listening experience way more immersive when listening in loud environments, but above all else the fact that you can still have a conversation with both earbuds in and hear the other person is incredible! I highly recommend these earbuds for those who like to listen to your music and be unbothered. If you want to get the full experience with these then you will need a samsung to control the features, but they will pair to other devices via bluetooth.

Upgraded from the original Galaxy Buds, overall happy with the battery life and fit, however I find they have a bit more sibilance than the predecessor. You can adjust EQ to alleviate the issue but I find it odd they have so much to begin with when the predecessor didn't.
