I bought Galaxy Probuds 2 before Christmas and I use them every day, but there's one problem with them no matter what ear cushions I use on them they are constantly popping out of my ears. I really hope Samsung can work out this issue because I love the sound quality.

Hey Xmasboy, thank you for taking time out of your day to share your thoughts with us about your Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro. We love hearing how much you are enjoying the audio quality of your device. We have a great article on our website titled "How to wear your Samsung earbuds" to help ensure the optimal placement of the buds in your ear for security of the fit. This can help with the placement of the small bump on the buds. Thank you for being a Samsung customer. -Elizabeth Samsung

Great, comfortable set of true wireless earbuds!

So, I'm sure everyone has their favorite brand & model (with their favorite features) when it comes to true wireless earbuds. I definitely do! My favorite set from a well-known audio device brand has been great for me for the past 2.5 years. I use them daily, mainly for online meetings/calls for work (as I work from home and am on a lot of meetings) but will also listen to music. I've tried several others (even within the same brand), but none have come close to matching everything I like about them. Samsung is actually another favorite brand of mine, but the only audio devices I've ever gotten were HM3500 Bluetooth headsets (which also had a plug-in to nicely turn it into "wireless" stereo earbuds), of which my last ones are still working 11 years later. So, with them coming out with the new Galaxy Buds2 Pro, with an updated design compared to the previous model, I decided to see if these could overcome my high expectations for true wireless earbuds and change my mind for my earbud favorite brand. While I do have an Android phone, it is not a Samsung (but I will probably eventually get one as my brand, which has been my favorite for the past 9 years, no longer manufactures mobile phones). That being said, after installing the Galaxy Wearable app, connecting to the Galaxy Buds2 Pro was very easy! It did prompt to install the Galaxy Buds2 Pro Manager plugin, which was quick enough. Through the Wearable app, every configurable item is available. Well, I say that, but there are some items that are only available when connecting to a Samsung device. Those features, such as 360 Sound, I was able to still try out, after connecting to Galaxy Tab 5se tablet. But more on the app/configurations later. When needing to change which device to connect to, just going into the Wearable app on the target device and tapping Connect, and it handles the disconnect from the other device and connecting to the target one all at once. I like being able to do this whereas on all others, I basically need to turn off Bluetooth on the one it is currently connected to, go into Bluetooth settings on the target, and start the connection. One thing I really would have preferred with these would be to have multipoint/A2DP connections, so I can have them actively connect to two devices at the same time (like I do with my other earbuds, where they are always connected to my work laptop and tablet so I can use either for my meetings). I'm hoping they add that in a later firmware update. I still connected them to and tried them out with just about every device I use, from my home computer to my new Galaxy Watch5 Pro. The Buds2 Pro have a little refreshed design, opting for not completely curved in every aspect. Overall, they have a lower profile while wearing, but only slightly lower than my other earbuds. The outside is still fully curved, but the top part that fits along the ear is like a little flat plateau. I imagine this allows them to be removed a little easier than before. However, I still find them somewhat more difficult to remove with the rounded outside design. I have to kind of "dig" them out from the top. While not extremely horrible, not exactly what I prefer (my other have a design to make it easier to grab on the outside portion to remove them). There still are no physical buttons, just touch/tap/hold on the touchpad on the outside curve. Single tap on either will play/pause (or answer a phone call), double tap will go to next track (or decline a phone call). Triple tap will go to the previous track. And by default, long-press will cycle between ANC on and Ambient sound. The long-press can also be configured to control volume (up for right, down for left), start Bixby, or start Spotify. If desired, any of the tap or hold actions can be disabled in the Wearable app. So far, once I put them in, they will stay in. Surprisingly, the initial ear gels worked fine for me (I will usually need to change the right one to get a good fit). They also really don't need readjusting while wearing them (which is good, because it is almost guaranteed that the touch pad will get activated). That is unusual for me as well, since almost any other earbud I've tried eventually starts coming out and I need to push it back into place (even my favorite ones, although not as often as the rest). This was officially, fully confirmed when I was wearing them during yardwork and didn't have to keep pushing them back into place every few minutes (never even touched them). Also, after a few days of extended wear, I can say that they stay comfortable. The audio qualities are great! After playing around with the different equalizer settings, the sound is very good!! If has very rich bass (on the "Bass boost" equalizer setting, which doesn’t set the bass as high as I normally have it, but it still sounds good). All my music I listened to sounded great. In fact, there have been several subtle music patterns in a few songs that I had never heard before that I was able to discern with these. Another good equalizer setting for music is "Dynamic" (if wanting a tad bit more treble). I would have liked for a customizable equalizer, but I guess either of those other two will do for me. I also found that the sound (and bass) is still very rich at lower volumes (I am trying to not have the volume up as loud as much as possible nowadays to try to protect my hearing). The Active Noise Canceling is probably the best I've experienced, although it does seem to have slight issues with filtering out higher pitched sounds/higher frequency. While it does seem to block out probably 98-99% of the sounds, but you will still hear a light click or clank (such as a yard trimmer line hitting something hollow). While doing yardwork, I could barely hear my lawnmower (it is battery operated, but it still isn't extremely quiet). One nice feature is that if one of the earbuds is taken out, it turns off ANC in the remaining earbud. The only sound issue I've come across so far is in a couple of web conference calls, I kept hearing light "pops" every once in a while some people where speaking, and the volume was not turned up very much then. A feature in the app that compliments the ANC is Voice Detect. When turned on, if it detects your voice (or someone else's that is loud enough), it will turn on Ambient mode to let the outside sound come through. This will allow you to have conversation without taking out an earbud. This feature turns off after 10 seconds of no talking. For the 360 Sound feature (mentioned earlier, and only available in the Wearable when connected to a Samsung device), it is kind of a cool idea. With head-following turned on, it feels like I'm listening to speakers. When turning my head, it redirects the sound to the ear closest to the device. It's a nice idea to play around with, but kind of defeats the purpose of wearing earbuds. The battery life is pretty good. There is a range of available power, depending on if ANC is turned on or not. When I had the chance to wear them for a while, I got about 4 hours of active use, with 1 hour of them sitting on my desk while I had stepped away (didn’t want to put them back on the charger yet), so about 5 hours total. I haven't had a chance to try for a long day with them without ANC turned on but expect another 3 hours or so. The clamshell charging case is fairly small (a 2" square and is 1" tall). It does have a magnetic closure. Like most devices, it uses a USB-C port for charging. It does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable, so you'll need a new charging block with a USB-C connection (instead of the bigger original USB-A). Alternatively, it can be charged on a wireless charger. The case will provide another 21-22 hours or so worth of earbud power (with ANC turned off). I haven't timed it yet on how long it takes to recharge the earbuds back to 100%. The Find My Earbuds feature in the Wearable seems to work a little different depending on if it is Samsung Devices or not as well. For my non-Samsung phone, it just offers to make the earbuds produce a sound to find them (which is a nice feature by itself). On my Samsung tablet, it brings you the Find feature in SmartThings app (which will require the installation of the Find, and will show the last known location on a map (my phone has the SmartThings app as well, but didn't offer this feature). So, has the Galaxy Buds2 Pro changed my mind? For comfort, they are just a little bit better. For the profile, they are both similar, but my other ones are easier to get out of the case and my ears, but the Buds2 will stay in place better. Sound quality is about the same. Overall Battery life (earbuds plus charging case) is about the same. The connectivity points are split, with ease of changing between connected devices going to the Buds2, but multipoint/A2DP goes to my other one (which is very important to me). In the end, well, we can have more than one favorite, right? I will probably be using the Buds2 when I am not working and just listing to music (when I'm working around the house, exercising, or doing yardwork), but my others will have to remain my daily use ones while working since I am always switching between my tablet and work laptop (at least, until/if I get lucky and they multipoint/A2DP gets added to the Bud2).
