The updated headphone no longer has the piece that hugs the ear and stops them from falling out. I have small ears so this is a big negative for me.

If you haven't done so already, the additional ear tips in a larger and smaller size should have been included with your device to help you with the fit. We have an article available online to help you titled "How to wear your Samsung earbuds".
