brought full price. phone defective!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought this phone full price, $800. The phone was defective. The camera lens was broken and the phone would turn on and freeze. Best buy would not exchange nor refund the item, which was returned the next day. They accused me of breaking the phone. I called corporate amd they were no help. I was out 800 dollars. Beware of buying from best buy.

A great phone perfected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a fan of the bigger sized phones for some time and Samsung has been paving the way in terms of quality large phones. I remember when I had the 4.5in screened Samsung Infuse and it was considered large. I've had a Note and Note 2 and loved both. Note 3 continues the tradition of keeping everything that worked, improving where needed, and adding features I wouldn't have even thought to ask. So many of the little annoyances I had with my Note 2 have been addressed. Its clear they put a lot of thought into finding out what people loved and wanted changed. When I first held the phone I fell in love. The form factor is just great and the screen is a noticeable jump up. That's saying something when the Note 2 already had a stellar screen resolution. I don't feel the need to have this one in a case. The slippery back of the Note 2 required a case as I dropped it a couple times when holding it bare. Rather than go on feature by feature I'll suffice to say everything feels like a great and noticeable improvement. S-pen, camera, screen, on and on its the phone I loved before but better in every way I could have asked for. I've tried dozens of smartphones over the past 5 years. The Note 2 was the first one I actually held onto for a year. I easily see myself holding onto the 3 that much or longer (depending on when they bring out a 4th ;) ). I highly recommend this phone.

Best phone you have ever had - if you like 'em big
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the Note 2 and really liked it the only real complaint being the screen in bright sunlight and the fact I could not get a full day of hard use with just one battery. Note 2 takes care of that and a whole lot more. First off, however, you have to be OK with the size. I prefer the large phone as I do a lot of work on the phone and the size really makes that a lot easier. If you are OK with the size you will love the phone with all the standard Android features which are lightening fast, but what really makes this one shine is the stylus (S-Pen they call it). It is impossible to fully describe all that you can do with the phone (and the phone doesn't help you as much as it should) but there are some great videos if you do a search and you can download an app ("Note 3 Experience") from Samsung that lets you know all you can do and how. With the Note 2, about the only thing I used the pen for was jotting down phone numbers, but with the Note 3, I am using it for a lot more. The only downside with the Note 3 is that you do need to spend a lot of time working with it to learn all that you can do. Some of the features and advanced settings are not easy to find and there is not enough explanation on what some things do and why. I have a lot of experience with smartphones going way back and have no trouble rooting and flashing but find I am still checking out forums to try to find where the menu is to turn something on and off or change a setting on this thing. Battery life is outstanding given the big screen and all it does. I can get through a whole day of pretty heavy use and still have enough left that I am confident that the alarm will go off in the morning and that I can take any 3am phone calls without it going dead. Camera is great so far, although have not tried it out in a lot of different conditions. Viewing videos is a real pleasure with the size and sharpness of the screen In short this would NOT be a phone for a first-time smartphone user, but if you are willing to put in the time to learn it, it is a winner. If you enjoyed your Note 2, you will like this one even more.

Overall Great Phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to try a new phone and a new OS. Coming from an iPhone 5 I really enjoy the much bigger screen. I love technology and I don't throw bombs at neither iOS or Android, I like both, but I wanted to try Android on a phone to see in my view which OS I would rather use. I chose this phone because I like to do quite a bit of reading on my mobile devices and not having to hold a big tablet is a good size screen. The phone is really easy to hold if you have big hands, if you don't two hand usage is a must. Yes it comes with Touchwiz but overall Touchwiz is not as bad as it used to be, it comes with a lot of useful features and some that may not be used often but when needed they are right there for you to use. Android has a lot of flexibility for you to customize your device the way you want to use it. The phone is really good for multitasking making good use of those 3 GB of RAM and the expandable storage it can be very useful as well. I believe that once you get used to the bigger size of the device you'll realize how useful a bigger size mobile phone could be, on the other hand it's size could have it's drawbacks as well, like for example getting it in and out of your pocket, or a bit heavier phone but eventually you'll learn to cope with those drawbacks and really think that this is a great phone. The S-Pen brings some very useful features to the phone and the Multi Window option comes in handy, more than you'll think. Battery life on this phone is great on average I get about 16 to 18 hours of battery on a light to moderate usage and about 10 hours on a semi-heavy usage. I've gone through about day and half without charging the phone. I'd say if you want a phone that would last you basically all day this is the phone for you.

Great phablet to have....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Note. I have used Samsung for quite some time now...Epic 4G, S3 and now this. I decided to get this for many reasons: size and quality of screen, the S Pen and the new design. I am visually impaired in one eye so the huge screen size is excellent for me. The resolution is also great when it comes to pictures and video. The S Pen features are a bonus for me but have not used them much so far. I mentioned size as a plus and a negative. The negative being if you have smaller hands, this may not be the phone for you. It is just slightly too large for my hands but nothing that cannot be handled. Sound and placement of speaker is another negative. Sitting at the bottom of phone does not allow for sound to travel upwards to your ears. Also, the quality of it is not very good. Overall, I highly recommend this phone.

Great phone, great camera, great everything
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For starts this phone was an upgrade from the Samsung Galaxy S 3. At first i was unsure about the size so i waited a while to see how the GS5 looked like. After seeing the specs and looks of the s5 i decided i was not that impressed so i went ahead and bought the Note 3. I have no regrets. This phone does everything i want, keeps the charge going 18hrs and then some, and has an absolutely stunning screen. I coupled this with the brand new Zagg Shield Glass, and it is so clean and crisp i couldn't tell there is even anything on the screen. I personally suggest if you are worried about the size, to try the phone for 15 days (return policy) and if you dont get used to the size by then, then bring it back for something else more preferred. The pleather backing is a good classy and professional feel. I am more then satisfied with the phone and will recommend to a friend.

amazing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I have been researching phones for about a month, as we were eligible for an upgrade. I had an iPhone 5 & had been completely dissatisfied for a long time with Apple. We decided yesterday to upgrade at Best Buy because the amazing price on the Note 3 right now (it is $350 at Sprint right now). We are so glad we did!! My fiance is a business owner & he needed the seamless combo of the phone & the tablet. He loves his phone. I also have one & love it. The capabilities, speed, design... just everything is perfect. This is what a cell phone should be.

Note 3 Review for Web Writing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this phone for a year now and love it. I like the multitasking abilities this phone allows with its split screen feature. The phone cases available are also very user friendly, I can see the check my phone to see the time, take a quick picture, or answer a call all without having to open the case. On the topic of pictures, the camera on this phone is phenomenal. It has auto focus, which is great on faces, takes great panoramas, not to mention the 13-megapixel camera it has that allows you to take pictures of things that are very detailed, and it still appears clear. My one problem with the phone is the battery life could be a bit longer but I do admit I use my phone frequently. (mie)
