Beautiful Phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an iPhone 10, but I decided to get the Note 10 after my husband got the Note 10+. The Note 10+ was too big for me, but the Note 10 is perfect. I didn't think I would make the switch to Samsung again, but I'm happy with my decision. The phone is beautiful. The camera takes great pictures, battery life is pretty great after making some system adjustments, the pen is super helpful, Bixby routines is AWESOME, and I love that I can have two apps open at the same time. There are a few things that I don't like about this phone. The finger print scanner is in such an awkward place. It makes it difficult to unlock my phone. Taking a screen shot is also a little awkward. Bixby and OK Google aren't great. Overall, I think this a great phone. I love how I can customize it to fit my needs which is something that I think is lacking in iPhones.

Trapped by Samsung
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Whenever I spend money on electronics I will always dedicate time to research it, look at reviews, weigh pros and cons, and consider the value for the cost. Two years ago, it was time for a new phone, and I was fortunate enough to afford a new Samsung Note 10+, excited to use the S Pen and enjoy the stunning curved display. Knowing I am clumsy, I had purchased an OtterBox phone case and installed a better screen protector than the one they use as a factory default. The phone was mostly great. It ran super fast and could do everything that was advertised of it, and although the camera did seem to underexpose my photos like other reviewers had said, I wasn’t going to be a professional photographer any time soon. I appreciated the Note 10+ as a great, luxury phone even at its high starting price, until this week. I dropped my phone while stepping out of the car, and this time it had broken through my defences and produced a small crack on the bottom third of the screen. I didn’t mind the crack at first and the display worked fine, until a few hours later. The bottom third of the screen became blindingly white and would not return to normal. The screen was so bright it hurt my eyes if I looked at it for long, and although the touch screen worked underneath I became more and more frustrated at its inconvenience. Paired with the blinding light, the display would not turn on unless I jump-started it by plugging and unplugging the charger a few times, and leaving the display on for long would cause the surface to quickly overheat my phone. I knew I had to get it fixed after getting stranded a few times with no GPS and no portable chargers, and what I learned next angered me enough to write this review to warn any future buyers. After calling my insurance and Samsung, I found Samsung does not have a facility to fix your phones. Instead, they outsource their repairs to a company that has been popping up everywhere across the nation: UBreakIFix. Warranty wouldn’t cover damage that I had caused to the phone, so I had no choice but to pay out of pocket and get the screen replaced. UBreakIFix charges a starting price of 279.99 to replace Note 10+ phone screens. I have never regretted a phone purchase more. For $300 dollars I could pay a good chunk of rent, purchase the new Xbox S Series, or maybe even buy a new phone altogether, but this chunk of money would only be used to replace my phone screen. Paying so much a few years ago, I felt that I am already in too deep. For anyone considering to purchase this phone, consider this: the trendy curved screen results in most protection gear to only cover your phone up to where the curve begins, meaning your phone’s display will always be exposed during a drop. If you are unfortunate enough to crack it, you might have more than just a cosmetic issue on your hands and be forced to pay $300 out of pocket for something you already dropped 800 dollars on. Consider taking your money elsewhere.

Known to have charging problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this phone 9 months ago and loved it. 2 weeks ago it started not charging. Had it looked at by a repair shop and was told this phone is known to have charging issues and they could not fix it. Still under warranty I sent it in for repair to samsung. Recieved call today and samsung refuses to fix it unless I pay $117.00 first to replace the back cover that had a small crack in it, which had nothing to do with the charging of the phone. So either pay it or they refuse to honor the warranty. Beware of the charging problem before purchasing the Note 10. Google it first for details and Samsungs charging for other things before fixing.

Lower resolution than Note 8
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just received my new Note 10 - I thought it's been 2 years, I'll give my old Note 8 to my mom. My Note 8 has served me so well and I just wanted to upgrade but when I turned on the new Note 10, I just couldn't help but notice that the colors are not as vivid as my Note 8. I played around with settings (everything is the same by the way, which is a good thing imo) but nothing helped: I put the same video on my Note 8 and Note 10 side to side and it was OBVIOUS: Note 8 HAS BETTER PICTURE QUALITY! Surely, I thought, something is wrong with it. But after doing some research, I've learned that Note 10 has LOWER resolution. What?! Two years later you are offering a product with lower resolution, which is very noticeable?! Keep in mind that I'm a regular user and I HAVE noticed! Why would I downgrade?! And you are doing this after you have problems with people not updating as often?! It didn't even cross my mind to compare specs b/c I assumed that it can only be better...WRONG. Also, the camera is pretty much the same but again, the quality of the picture looks worse. Surely, it is a good-looking phone but so is my Note 8 and I'm sticking with it! Luckily, I still have it but in one year I will do more research on other models/phones before buying a new one. Hopefully by then Samsung gets their act together.
