    Screen Sensitivity issue

Okay let me start by saying that I love Samsung phones. When I got the Note 8 I was very excited and never expected to have any issues. The phone has a touch sensitivity issue. I can barley text or type. Let's face it if the keyboard doesn't work the phone is pretty much worthless. According to the Samsung forum I am not the only one with this issue. The forum says that the screen protector can contribute to this issue. Well my son also got a Note 8 and hasn't put the screen protector on the phone and he ALSO has the problem. I am very disappointed and will be returning the phone.

1000$ warm brick that needs to be kept on a charge

My previous phone was a note 2 and it was only three hundred dollars. The note 8 is a complete waste of money. It is heavy (brick) noticeably so. Its long-ness and shorter width makes it awkward to hold and your hand cramps up easily. In my opinion, it is better to have a wider phone than a longer one. The battery doesn't even last a full day and that is with disabling unused apps, using black wallpaper, and uninstalling unused apps. (I added on 5 apps and lots of them were disabled and deleted.) The phone is total overkill. The phone is hot while charge, it doubles as a hand warmer. 6 gigs of ram will never be fully utilized in a phone and is not necessary. Large ram is used in desktop and/or laptop computers for high end gaming and running full and/or multiple computing programs (i.e. photoshop, etc.) You can actually buy a better laptop or desktop computer for way under a thousand dollars now. There is no noticeable difference in 6 gb of ram for checking email, simple games, texting, calling, and surfing the web. The curved screen serves no useful purpose. I would rather have it flattened and have more screen size. The curved screen is a hindrance when trying to run apps that use the edge of the screen; they do not play well with the curve and it can be damaged easier than a flat one under the same conditions. The pen, I never even took it out the 7 days I had the phone before I returned it. If you need a pen in your phone and want to pay a grand for it then it may be worth it to you. But a pen is not necessary, the note is the only phone on the market that even has one, gimmicky. A stylus can be bought for dollars! I didn't notice a difference in surfing the web, using apps, texting, basic games, or pictures/camera vs the two hundred forty dollar samsung j7v. If you are a camera geek of camera buff, it may be worth it to you, but then you would most likely have a separate camera. In fact, I found the samsung j7v to function better overall. Plus, why worry about damaging a thousand dollar phone, opt out of the hype and high cost of locked in continual increased phone pricing (soon they will cost fifteen hundred dollars) and maybe phone prices will one day come down.

    Note 8 defective

I am on my second note 8 in three weeks. Unfortunately I missed the 14 day return on the second phone by one day. I attempted to contact Samsung who told me to go to Best Buy to have the phone looked at. The representative was nice but was not informative. He downloaded the software on the phone again and said it should work. Well guess what? Did not work because two hours later I am not receiving messages emails calls or any type of notification. The phone freezes and is useless. I had to go through Verizon to get another phone so that makes three in three weeks. I would not recommend this phone for the simple face they are not reliable. My husband is also on his second note 8 in two weeks. Samsung and Best Buy will not admit there is an issue

I purchased this phone a few days ago and dropped it for the first time and the back shattered in 2 different places. Called Verizon and best buy and nobody could help me or repair my phone. When I had a note 5 it had manufacturer issues 2 times luckily first time it was under warranty and got it replaced but second time I was on my own. Don't buy Samsung phones. They're poorly made.

The phone is awesome, BUT... UNLIMITED PLAN...

    Posted .

Like I stated the phone is amazing and I recommend it. The reason I gave it a 1 STAR is because of the "Service Provider", VERIZON, and the TRADE IN PROMOTION. NO ONE at Best Buy mentioned that you MUST BE on the VERIZON UNLIMITED PLAN for this promo (Honestly, Best Buy may be UNAWARE). That's right, folks. I got that straight from a VERIZON CORPORATE STORE on 09/23/2017. It is not on any literature or site popup. Since my purchase on 9/15, I had been unable to TRADE IN my NOTE 5 on verizonwireless.com. The site always gave this error: "There was an error with one of our systems and we're working on it now. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Please try again in a few minutes." Verizon Chat and telephone help were next to useless and keep asking me to "try again later" or even "It will be fixed on 9/21". Went to a CORPORATE STORE and they told me that the site was balking because we DID NOT have the UNLIMITED PLAN (?!) The after changing it, the site still balked so they used a MANUAL FORM on their computer for my trade and REFUSED to give a hard copy of the transaction for my records. Got an email later about a "gift card" for $128 (!!!!) Not the promo credit or any receipt. Now I have to contact Verizon AGAIN to make sure that they HONOR their PROMOTION. Poor business practices Verizon! I hope no one else experiences this.

    Done Dealing with Samsung

    Posted .

Recently Switched from iPhone 6s Plus to Note 8. Had issues with delayed notifications from Day 1 and my first phone was overheating. Best Buy gladly exchanged the phone and no more heating issues. However, Note 8 still had issues with delayed or no notifications from apps like Facebook, Viber, Whatsapp and gMail. I did everything from resetting to updating Android and Samsung Apps and still had issues. Talked to Samsung Customer and Tech Support, no luck. Talked to Verizon Reps who tried resetting notifications but it did not go away. Had Best Buy check the phone and they told me its probably how Samsung phones deal with notifications. As a business user, getting my emails on time as well as other notifications matter to me since I was using clients by not replying their emails in timely manner. Finally switched to iPhone X and I got my notifications just like my other iPhones. Personally I would stay away from Samsung S8/S8plus and Note 8 known to have notification issues. Also battery life sucks since I had to recharge twice a day compared to iPhones going day or two without charging.

    Another Brick in the Wall

As with the S7 and S8 devices, the Note 8 constantly freezes and must be forced to restart numerous times throughout the day. I ditched the S7 for the S8 because the phone constantly froze. After a few updates the S8 started to freeze. I got rid of the S8 and got the Note 8 because the S8 kept freezing. After a few updates the Note 8 freezes far more than either of those devices did combined. I've tried everything and I'm tired of paying the deductible for a device that does the same exact thing as the rest. Absolute garbage. I've tried all of the troubleshooting and nothing gives. None of the replacement devices have fixed anything. Never purchasing a Samsung phone in the future.

    Freezes and unresponsive

I purchased my Note online from Best Buy and just activated it Jan 5th. It temporarily froze a couple of times while using it, which worried me. Today this happened: My Note 8 just froze - completely. I've been using it 4 days. Help! It was fully charged. I began to use it this morning, went to twitter. Had S pen out to use. A message popped up "Process system isn't responding" My morning phone alarm went off a few minutes later and I cannot get the alarm to shut off... it keeps ringing the alarm, but the message is on the forefront of the screen. I cannot shut off as the power off isn't responsive. Went to the Samsung forums and there is a thread about this occuring. Will visit a Best Buy store today and report back if possible. Thank you

    It might split itself.

In Samsung official forum, there are more than 40 pages discuss about S8, S8+, Note 8 self-split. There must be something wrong about the Gorilla glass. Do not buy unless you know the risk that the phone might split itself.
