Bad product, worse service!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My pervious phone was a Motorola Razr Maxx which I used for 2 1/2 years with very few problems. The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 phone failed within 30 days. Continuously rebooting. It took 2 hours working with Verizon support before they finally gave up and agreed to replace under warranty. Replacement phone was not received for 10 days after they screwed up the replacement order. Replacement was "certified like-new", not new! Bad product, worse service!

Company does not stand behind its product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The phone broke about 3 weeks after we got it, while sitting undisturbed on a table overnight. Despite having a screen protector and a protective case, the screen cracked and the display went black. It was not dropped and there was no other impact that could have caused this damage. As I discovered from reading many other complaints on-line, this is a Samsung manufacturing defect, yet neither Samsung nor Best Buy stands behind the product. It is deemed "accidental damage" -- i.e., the fault of the customer. In fact, the defect is in the manufacturing -- dozens of other customers have experienced the exact same problem, all within a few weeks of purchasing the phone. Had to pay $150 + tax (on top of the $200 Geek Squad protection plan) to get it fixed when we did absolutely nothing to cause the damage.

Not good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I keep getting prompts that say battery case open. I check and it seems to be closed. More dropped calls then I expected from Verizon. When I charge the phone it will sometimes shut down. It tells me it was because battery overheated.

Clearly The Best!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best Samsung has to offer next to their new Note Edge smartphone lineup. B4 the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus came out, this was the best phone on the market, and even then after it is STILL the best phone in the market. The power that this smartphone carries is impressive, the ability to control Televisions or cable/satellite boxes blew me away. The AMAZING camera is just phenomenal and ALL the smartphone features are just the best. When you add this bad boy to use with the Verizon Network, you get your moneys worth....clearly #1

After One Month of Use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a big jump in overall quality going from a Galaxy S3 to the S5. I purchased my GS5 on launch day and so far it's been fantastic! Usually after a month of use I would have a few complaints such as lagging, battery life, locking up etc. but, this phone has sustained performance. Here are the features that really stand out to me: BATTERY LIFE : I'm a business owner and can't believe I average 24 to 30 hours on regular use. My S3 was barely getting 12 to 16 hours. So I am definitely happy. CAMERA : The quick swipe icon on the home screen comes in handy! 3 seconds and you are taking the shot! The camera really showed its value when I was in an auditorium balcony and the stage was pretty far. at 16 MP, I was able to get legitimate clear shots. Also, I like the new filters and features. SPEED and CONNECTIVITY: I have realized that I am completing tasks quicker because the phone flys when opening apps. I use the Multi-screen feature more often now because it handles multiple screens better than the predecessors. Downloading apps from the play store seems to be faster as well. MY ONLY COMPLAINT: The Samsung keyboard has a sensitive spacebar. When I send SMS messages I often hit the space bar when my intentions was to hit my home button. So, I often have messages placed as a 'Draft' because the phone stored the message because it contained a 'space'. only a space. CONCLUSION: This is absolutely an excellent phone and a strong asset for a business owner. The only problem is that it's fun to use so most likely you will use it more often, I have!

It was a choice between Iphone 6 and S5!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When the iphone 6 rolled out, I was convinced I would upgrade from my Galaxy S3 to the iPhone. Once I started my research, I found the S5 to be a serious contender. I cannot tell you how many youtube video comparisons I watched and how many reviews I read. In the end, I just love being able to customize my phone. Loved my S3, but have found the S5 far superior. The battery life alone is amazing! The camera is worth the switch. I have used my phone camera more than my expensive Sony camera. The only issue I have with the S5 is the charging port on the phone.. You have to pull out the "plug" (which is used for the water resistant feature) The phone charges super fast, but it's a pain trying to get the cord to plug in to the phone. I would not be at all surprised if the plastic plug falls off at some point. You have to pull it out before you charge every time. I highly recommend this phone. Go through and delete some of the bloat and check out some of the other launchers on the market.

great phone terrible provider
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cancelled with Verizon within the allowed 14 days (6 actually) to purchased the same phone unlocked. Received one bill for over $100 and another for over $80 and was told by Verizon customer service to just pay both and receive a credit to my account. I cancelled service so I have no account. Still waiting on them to correct the bill.

Went from S3 to S5
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the S5 outright a couple of days ago to replace my S3. A bit pricey. So far I have been very pleased with it. The camera is great which is the main reason I chose this over the HTC M8. I loved the look of the HTC M8 and I almost bought it until I held it in my hand, very heavy. A few reviewers have said they hated the plastic backing. I bought the white one and it does not look plastic-y like the S3 which I also had in white. The textured backing makes it easier to hold onto unlike the S3 which I always had to have in a case to get a grip on it. The interface is easy to navigate with a few minor changes from the S3. My only gripe is the battery life. I am a heavy app user and texter in addition to the camera usage. Does not last a whole day like my S3. The charging port is a little weird with 2 prongs but I can still use my old car charger in the larger port.

Not satisfied
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son had the phone one week. It feel out of his front pocket as he was sitting down. It cracked the so called gorilla glass and quit working. He has had iPhones for years and has dropped them many times. The screen may crack but they always worked.

Love this phone!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgrade rarely, so it's easy to figure out why I love this phone over my 5+ year old 3G Android, but the obvious advantages aside, this Galaxy really seems very user friendly and packed with more options and capabilities than I could ever need. It's big, but you've got to know that going in. The design is great, but obviously some sort of case is a no brainier. So far no glitches, freeze ups, etc. The wifi and hotspot is super fast. Cell coverage and reception is great. The only negative I've found so far is the slow shutter response on the camera, but it is a phone after all. But since after texting and possibly talking, many use their phones mostly to take pictures, a much faster shutter response would be nice, but the camera does have tons of options, and could probably have a faster shutter if it wasn't applying lots of those options while you are taking the picture; auto focus, light adjustment, facial focus, etc., etc. Bottom line; so far, so good. We'll see how it rates after 5+ years or so when I convince myself I have to upgrade again.

Great phone overall... Has a few software issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great phone with decent amount of battery life and an excellent screen. The biggest problem is lag, the Samsung TouchWiz just makes this thing so laggy and I have been getting some force closes on ebay and a couple of other apps. Still a great phone
