Sleek little beauty with solid performance!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this phone last week by trading in my iPhone 4S with Best Buy. Have been eyeing this phone for almost half a year now, but after seeing iPhone 5's disappointing updates, I decided to jump the gun with this phone by trading in my 4S. And I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED AT ALL! This phone looks sleek and brilliant on the eye, is a pleasure to hold, and is almost buttery smooth (excited to see how JB can make it more buttery!). Android ICS 4.0 is an amazing OS and makes this phone a delight with those tons of customizations. The battery life is iffy and average, but with Juice Defender and the XDA developer's forum providing tons of tips and tricks on how to save the battery, I am able to go almost 2 days without charging (mine is light to moderate usage). Might also think about buying a spare battery as backup. This is the best phone I've ever owned, period! And I am pretty sure I am going to unearth more features and squeeze better use from this phone. LOVE IT!!

Best price and features in a smartphone!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Where to start. First off, i'm not a "fanboy" of one mobile OS over another, the two dominant OS's being Android and iOS. I've had and used iPhone 3gs, 4s and messed around with my wifes iPhone 5. Now that that is out of the way, this is hands down my favorite smartphone to date! The screen is gorgeous and does not strain my eyes like my iPhones did. For me the 4.8" screen is the perfect size. I have smaller hands (work glove size 10) and still am able to easily navigate the phones screen with one hand. If you stick a case on it that is bulky, like say a defender, you porbably will not like the size though. I found that the much smaller Commuter or even the Ballistic Slim work very well and offer great drop protection. Some people say that it's "too plastic". A great benefit of todays plastics is the weight to strength ratio. Also the plastics "flex" a bit rather than just break. If you put it in a case which I suggest for any smartphone, the plastic back shouldn't be an issue. Another reason for the plastic back is that the NFC technology will not work through a metal back. People who purchased the neat aluminum replacement backs found this out. The picture quality is super and I love the PANORAMA photo setting! The sync and back up of your phone over shared wifi to your computer through a much improved Keis is a nice feature that is basically Samsungs version of the itunes backup/sync. The speaker will go very loud without distortion, headphone jack is on top of device WHERE IT SHOULD BE! Flash works great. Since the Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1 update I have noticed the phone works even smoother than it already did. I'm on AT&T and got the update through Keis since it appears ATT is dragging on the over the air update. You can also pick up a micro sd card up to 64gb and make this phone have a total of 80gb of storage! Plenty of room for all your music and videos and unlike other OS's you don't have to go through a sync procedure, you can add files to the device by plugging it in to computer and simply copy/paste. If you are going from an iOS device be warned, there is a learning curve for android. This is because the OS allows you to do so much more than iOS does. I was ready to bring back my first android froyo device after a week because I was used to iOS and it's simplistic interface. I resisted that urge and now I wouldn't trade my Galaxy S3 for anything except maybe a Galaxy S4 when they arrive! If this is your first smartphone there will be no such transition and there are tons of youtube tutorials on how to use some of the cooler features of the device. Oh, and the built in navigation is super. I compared it to my wifes iPhone 5 and sorry, the Galaxy S3 wins hands down. In the end, for the price, features and ability to customize your device with live wallpapers, widgets that update your facebook feeds, espn scores, weather, etc. you won't find a better device. And oh yes, it DOES have Corning Gorilla Glass 2 which is very very scratch resistant. (I still use a screen protector though)

Great phone with some minor flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a blackberry user for the past 7 years. The Galaxy is a great phone as far as the camera, screen, and web browser goes, but it falls way behind the Blackberry's messaging capabilities. Email is a terrible experience, especially when setting up Exchange email. The keyboard is slow and freezes all together sometimes. Battery life is poor but is to be expected on a phone of this caliber. Other than that it is a great device.

absolutely love this phone!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I couldn't be happier with this phone. It's exactly what I was hoping it would be. I was an owner and fan of the original Galaxy S, but wanted something faster, more feature-packed, and a smoother OS. I got exactly that and then some. If you're die-hard android this is the phone you are looking for. Only things I can complain about is that predictive text still seems dumb, true of every phone. Also battery life, It's good for a smartphone and there are plenty of power-saving features that help a lot. But I am waiting for the day when I can really tear it up with energy hungry apps and processes without putting my battery in the red in less than a day.

Best Smart phone ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is the coolest one I have ever had, being a former iPhone user. The telephone is swift, HD camera, lots of features, like voice commands and access to settings menu that are easy to use at the touch. The sound is very powerful. Battery life is somewhat disappointing, but it is an excellent phone for a very affordable price.

great phone!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had my Galaxy s3 for two days now. I love it so much. It has a great camera. Fast processor. Bright display. The sound qaulity is wonderful. With 4g data the internet is fast and loads what you need loaded in secconds. Texting is easy with the qwerty touch keyboard. Its nice to have a front faceing camera. Only bad thing is the battery life. I wish it lasted longer.

awesome phone for droid users
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.been using this phone now for close to a month. its amazing...im a multitasking multimedia social network kind of guy. everything is smooth, the display is very crisp. the camera is awesome and has hi res pics plus awesome modes...im in love with the panoramic mode. this phone really is one of my favs of all time. i came from blackberry phones and i loved the email and bbm physical keyboard and the battery...battery for the s3 is pretty horrible. end up having to turn off everything like gps, and close all the widgets and the device ends up not being fun. i end up carrying my charger with me everywhere in fear of my battery draining out. good thing i have a usb connector in my car. aside from that theres apps to manage battery and what not so cant really complain..and also the keyboard for me took some getting used to. once again i came from blackberry and a physical keyboard, but even then i have an apple itouch and the keyboard is pretty accurate, out the box i think apple has a better typing setup but again, there are apps for droid to make it better, the phone is great...better than the iphone 4s. =D

Nice upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just bought this phone yesterday from my local AT&t store and i have to say this is one smooth phone. As a lifelong Iphone user I had become bored with Apple's interface and screen size. This phone blows the Iphone away far as speed, features and being able to customize the phone the way you want it. Everyone I know who has had a Iphone has switched to one of the many Galaxy phones like the S3, S4 and Note 2. The only con I see so far is the battery life and that problem can be helped once you disable some of At&t's bloatware that comes preloaded on the device. I already ordered a travel charger from BB for $6.00 dollars that I can throw in my bag just in case.

Too many misleading reviews.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to start with saying that I myself have fallen victim to Getting caught up in the Hyped reviews, But people who are searching for a review to help them, might want to read this. I have gone from phone to phone, deciding a couple years back that android was the way to go for me, I have loved it, but the whole keeping up with the joneses thing and OS updates can get quite hard, So to make a long story short, if i can, I returned an HTC ONE X, in order to get this phone, and all i can say is, I REALLY MISS MY ONE X! Do not get me wrong, this phone is very good, BUT, the only major feature that it has over the ONE X, is the Micro SD slot, Other than that, This phone is not so hot, The icons are quite cartooney, compared to the HTC ONE X, it has a more adult look to it, The screen on the SSGSIII, is nice, but NOTHING compared to the HTC, Battery life on the SSGSIII is dismal at best, The removable battery is a good thing, because it will need to be replaced, quite often, When i was using the HTC ONE X, I easily made it through the day internet browsing, making calls, loading apps, etc., I did have to charge it every night, but i would make it thru the day, I have had the SSGSIII for 2 days now, and it has been charged about 6 times. The feature about watching a video and texting/sending email at the same time, is nice, However, It does only work if you are watching a video using the Video Player app that comes pre loaded with the phone. As like many other Samsung phones, They have not given this phone a Movie maker/editing app, I miss that as well, The HTC does have one, a simple one, but it does have one. I found Youtube videos, Crackle videos, etc. would load and play nicely on the One X, I have YET to get anything on Crackle to play on the SSGSIII, Again, not a big deal to many, but a big dissapointment to me. I had read how nice it was to hold in the hand, It is nice, But it is SLICK, without a case, it will be hard to control, The HTC has a MUCH nicer feel to it, IMO, As i said, If you happen to be one of those on the fence about choosing the HTC ONE X or the SSGSIII, The ONLY PLUSES to the SSGSIII, IMO, are the Micro SD slot, and the Video watching/texting, emailing option, other than that, the More grown up looking/feeling HTC ONE X, is the way to go, I myself am quite excited that i will be returning my SSGSIII, and getting my HTC ONE X back, I am not crazy about having to return/exchange things, and go thru all the paper work , but this is an upgrade, and IMO, the next 2 years will be much better having a HTC ONE X, as opposed to the SSGSIII. So sorry, I forgot to mention the S VOICE feature, IMO, it is HORRIBLE, Could not help me at all, The Google Voice feature, on almost ANY android phone is MUCH BETTER, Samsung has a lot of work cut out for them in getting the S Voice feature working as it should/or they want it to. Also, The camera on the SSGSIII is nice, and so is the HTC ONE X, I again prefer the Htc One X, but both of them are Fantastic cameras!, BOTH, I really thin it just comes down to weather you need the sd card slot, That again was a HUGE reason i turned in my HTC, and got this phone, But the other issues with it, make the HTC a Much better device for me. Oh and ONE more thing, The text wrap around feature on the HTC phones, If your eyes are not the greatest, as mine are not, this feature is a MUST have, The SSGSIII does not have this, and it makes a big difference, To Me.

Absolutely love the Galaxy S III
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is nothing this phone doesn't do and every feature is fantastik. The size is great, camera takes better pictures than a regular camera. It is lightning fast. Every feature just works great without any issues. I love the Wifi transfer, S beam, etc. The battery life is great compared to my prior Samsung Captivate. I didn't love the preinstalled keyboard but found another on the app store that I like. All I keep saying is I LOVE MY NEW PHONE.

Best Smart Phone Available
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Greatest Smart Phone to date. I'm a long time apple I phone user and waited 3 years for the Iphone 5 to arrive. Unfortunately the I phone 5 pails in comparison to this Samsung phone on many levels. The Samsung Galaxy S III hands down beats the Iphone 5. The apps with apple Vs. the apps with android are so very close and majority off apps are free from Android whereas apple has a cost to many of similar apps. Samsung got it right and went with something much more ergonomic like the original I phone 3Gs, just fits my hand better. Being a bigger phone gives you more screen but also makes it more of a reach to text. Perhaps thats a good thing to cut down on one handed texting drivers. if you are using two hands to text, much easier with the wider phone. I was so disappointed in the I phone 5. This phone gives me way more user control and flexibility to mange they way it's set up and I prefer being the one in control of my phone instead of my phone controlling me. If you hadn't made the switch, do it today, you won't regret it.

Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Samsung Galaxy S3 for AT&T after switching from the iPhone 4 from Sprint. (not starting the apple vs android debate, I think its a personal preference.) But coming from using both phones, I do like the customization for the phone, so much more than the iPhones. Its easy to use and the screen size is perfect. I never lose calls and connection in my area (Baltimore, MD) is always good. It runs apps smoothly and fast. The battery drains fast though if you are constantly on an app, and sometimes the phone itself heats up, as well as when you are charging it. Besides that, it is a great phone.

This Phone has it all!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this device for about 2 months, and can honestly say it is the best device I have ever laid my hands on. Just about everything you could want to do on a mobile device, can be done on the GSIII. The screen is amazing, and I love the extra real estate you get with the combination of a larger screen and higher resolution than the competition. Makes texting easier as well for those of us with large hands / fingers. I can easily get a full day use of of it without having to charge it, and I am a heavy user. The only con I can think of is that the camera, although it takes very good pictures and HD video in most situations, can be a tad lackluster in low-light. Other than that, this is an amazing device and makes smaller phones feel like a toy in my hands.

Doesn't live up to the hype
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The commercials are funny, everyone can enjoy a good ribbing of Apple fanboys, but this phone is not in the same league as the iPhone 5. The one thing I love about this phone is the screen size. There's simply nothing better than the screen of this phone. HOWEVER, the audio is horrible at best, you even have to find headphones that are compatible with it as well. Speakerphone is a joke, the earpiece is so poor Samsung added some bloatware to help increase it's volume even when it's turned all the way up. The hardware is impressive, but you can never have it running like that else your battery will die in a half day (so for all it's impressiveness in specs, are cut at the knees with power/battery savers). WOW, you can beam a playlist... really? So you need to know someone that has the same phone as you, that never happens, and you'll never use it. Great idea that is complete gimmick in reality. Google Play marketplace doesn't even sniff what Apple brings to the table.... NOT EVEN CLOSE. Even duplicate apps are better done on iOS, perhaps because of the higher standards that must adhere to. And if all of that wasn't enough, you got Samsung bloatware, carrier bloatware, and every time Google releases an update, you have to wait 4 months. I really like the screen of this phone, but after that, it's was a complete bust. As far as Android phones go, it's a good one, but the iPhone is just better. My GS3 is being returned for the iPhone 5.

Did I get a Dud?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, here is my critique on the Samsung Galaxy 3S... I'm an Apple girl through and through. But with all the changes Android has made to its software I decided to give it a chance. It is a bigger phone than an Iphone, more streamlined with a wider screen. The visuals are great. I could not get my pictures I've had for years transferred, nor my contacts because I didn't know about the Google backup system. If you utilize that, then you won't lose much, if anything. Games tend to crash repeatedly, making it impossible to play anything. The two deal breakers for me? Battery life. Even with every application that would use data off, no automatic syncing on... my battery goes from 100% charged to 50% overnight. This does not sit well with me and because of that, it will be going back. Also, the cable to charge snapped where it plus into the phone jack. Did I get a defect? Or all they all just this poorly made? Great looking phone Samsung... but have the next one be made more sturdy please.

Definitely full of unique features!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from a LONG line of stirctly iphones, this was a reluctant buy, but I have some raves and rants. My favorite: the S-Beam, which allows you to share music, videos, and photos in seconds IF you are sending them to another Samsung G3 (also now a feature on the Samsung Galaxy note 2) beyond simple, so fast. speaking of fast....my 2nd favorite feature: the SPEED! whether on wi-fi or 4G, it is super fast, LOVE that!! still getting used to android over familiar iphone ios...here are my top 2 rants: #1- I don't feel secure with the android market/apps Yes, there are so many more to choose from, but I don't like having to give "permission" to various apps to access all of my phone info #2- while I appreciate the speed of the camera, (the iphones had a noticeable shutter lag), I am pretty disappointed in the overall picture quality thus far.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I should have given this product a 5 star except my cheif complaint is the battery life. I need to charge this phone 2X a day compared to my previous iPhone 4 of once a day with normal use. I am hoping that Samsung will improve the battery life or maybe sell a battery replacement for this phone with a lot longer battery life compared to iPhone.

THE BEST PHONE IN THE MARKET, PERIOD.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love, love, LOVE this phone! So glad I waited for this. I have a ten-month old son and I always take pictures/videos of him and upload them to Facebook/Instagram/Gmail and this phone absolutely keeps up! I love how it looks and how you can customize it with no difficulty. The navigation on this phone is beyond exceptional! I turned off my data after getting the gps started and it kept on going! I also love watching Netflix on this phone. My husband keeps on commenting on how I can't take my eyes off of my S3 and why I prefer doing things on it instead of using my laptop or his computer that is plugged in to our 46" tv. I mean, this phone is just amazing! I would recommend getting a case though and an accidental plan on it just to be safe!!!
