Advanced Smart Phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What I Like About the Phone: 1) It's fast, which is really the most important thing for me. 2) Screen is HUGE and stunning 4.8 Inch (new iPhone is 4 inch). 3) Phone is so thin, really can't believe how thick old phone was, it's amazing the difference. 4) Camera is fast (ZERO shutter lag), opens instantly, and takes super HD pictures. Front and back cameras. 5) The connector is the same as old phone, as Samsung has standardized it, so my old charger and car charger work. 6) I'm not using an SD card but just the internal memory, which I have the 16GB version. There is an SD slot if you want one. 7) I was able to put my sound files and ringer songs onto it in seconds without reading any instructions. 8) Battery is good so far, on a day when I don't use the phone much, it will last well into the next day. 9) Camera does burst shot that takes 20 pics in seconds. 10) Smart Stay: the phone maintains a bright screen as long as you're looking at it. When you look away it dims the display. If you look back at it, it brightens up. 11) Motion Gestures, like taking a phone screenshot by cupping your hand in a motion to one side of the screen, or auto dialing a contact by moving the phone up to your ear. What I Like About Android on this Phone: 1) More logically structured and configurable. 2) The widgets are awesome and more functional than just an icon to an app. 3) Speed. After the first day I got it, I had 20 apps running in the background but didn't even know it cause there was no performance slowdown. 4) Fast for multitasking. 5) There's a new easy interface for setting up homescreen and other screens like the lock screen. 6) From the lock screen you can directly open the camera instantly, or customize it. 7) Visual Voicemail: I got a voice mail today, and it converted the voice message to text and I could read the voice message while sitting in class. 8) S-Voice Personal assistant. Launch and app, search directions, set the alarm, whatever you want. 9) Fastest benchmark results when using the internet. 10) Detailed data usage charts. See exactly what apps use bandwidth. See by hour day week month. 11) Way better status bar, and status bar menu. Customize how you are notified more efficiently. 12) Power saving feature I love. Customize all the power saving functions you want, then activate/deactivate the power saving mode with one touch. 13) It's functionality feels like a computer more often than a phone. I open pdf and office documents easily. What It Has That I Don't Use But You Might Like: 1) Android Beam, transfers music, pictures, or any file, simply by holding two android phones next to each other. 2) TecTiles, some feature for your car I think. 3) Live effects to transform pictures and video. 4) Face unlock by looking at the phone. NOW... what people usually find the most informative when reading any review... What I Do Not Like: 1) The home button is kinda hard to push, I didn't even know it was a button on the first day. There is a terrible "lag" when the home button is pushed before the OS switches to the home screen. I think this is NOT because the phone is slow, but because that button has been tasked for 2 functions: to go home (single press), and to activate S-Voice (double press). So the lag is intentional to see if you are going to double press (bad design). 2) The swipe text input is bad and changes all my words to wrong words, I've been texting by touching each letter, which I hate. 3) There are some pre-installed apps I don't want, but FAR FAR less than our old phone. 4) When pulling down the status bar, it starts from the far "right" and has to auto pan over to the "left" so I can use the sound ON/OFF/VIBRATE. 5) The sound ON/OFF/VIBRATE status is still the same as old Android, which is confusing to me. Green=sound off or vibrate, Grey=sound on. 6) It multi-tasks good, but I don't see a way to switch between the programs very easily.

Awesome phone!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from an AT&T iPhone, I finally decided to try another type of phone. The guys at the Murray Utah store were very knowledgeable and friendly with helping me make a decision. I played with the live model they had in the store and fell in love instantly! It was fast, super easy to use, and I'm still finding things this phone does that my iPhone didn't. Way to go Samsung! You guys have done a superb job with the GS3 :) I'd recommend this phone to even people that are new to smart phones.

Better than your phone. Promise.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my fifth Android phone and it does no shame as a follow up to the Galaxy S II. It's faster and has very few hiccups (the quad-core would have been better, but apparently it's not compatible with LTE), but still handles most tasks buttery-smooth. Android 4.0 offers tons of new features that are utilized well by Touch-Wiz 4.0. Samsung's interface is smoother, less intrusive, and more intuitive than ever. S-Voice needs some work, but this is understandable as it is new and in it's infant stage. The Blue is gorgeous in person as it is iridescent in light and mixes well with it's grey undertones; photos don't do it justice. The plastic couldn't feel better in the hand as it is sturdy, solid, and very high quality. The HD screen is wonderful and displays videos that put my second phone, the iPhone4, to shame. In doors, the brightness output is more than adequate, but can be a little hard to see outdoors in direct sunlight. The 4.8" screen is not too big in my average size hands, so it should be easy to hold by most. Photos are taken quickly because the camera offers zero shutter lag. Images are rendered beautifully and are of the best quality any smartphone has to offer. There are a ton of useful and customizable short-cuts that you can't really find on any other smartphone. The list of useful features go on and on. No smartphone, or iPhone, adopter should be disappointed. Give this a good hard look.

If this old man can you can
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well I'm one of those old guy's that just want to press send and end, say hello and not text. After going from my great HTC hero to this one, I find myself enjoying all the extras. It's already saved me with the large screen when I needed info off the web out in the field working. and all the apps are helpful. I have even with much more ease returned text back to people. And most of all I have the kids beat on the cool factor, and the grand kids love playing games and watching net-Flex on the road or away from home. So far for someone that wouldn't know the differences between the top ten phones, I'm loving it.

Better than iPhone!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an iPhone 4 and then a 4s. Great phones, but apple is very restricting. There is nothing I could do on the iPhone that I cannot do on this phone...plus soo much more. The screen is big a beautiful...but still fits nicely in my pocket. There may be fewer apps than iOS, but you will not believe what these apps will let you do! Free music downloads, download tv shows to watch later without using data, and that's just for starters. If you have an iPad, there are apps to sync your calendar to iOS and vice versa. There is nothing this phone can't do. And the multitasking! Wow! You won't be disappointed!

I love this smartphone!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally moved up in the world. My previous phone was a very old LG Rumor. I'm not one to stay on top of the latest and greatest gadgets but when I do upgrade I go all the way. And boy I'm so glad I did!! This phone is so easy to use. The screen colors are clear and crisp, there are alot of included apps, and the sound is very clear. I listen to music alot and the included earbuds also have great sound quality. Everything about this phone is easy. Easy to use, easy to set up. When you 1st use anything, it walks you through it and also suggests other things you might like. This was helpful for a beginner like me. But now I feel like a pro, zipping around my phone with ease!!

Best phone I have had yet!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from my Nexus S to the S3 and never looked back! This phone has all the features that I need and some I will never use. The only downside is just like all the other Android phones I have had, battery life is short. However, the battery in the S3 lasts much longer than all my previous phones. Display is great, sound is great, camera is great. Overall an awesome phone and would recommend to everyone.

Ehh...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an HTC Evo 4G for three years and figured I might as well trade in and up for free plus taxes, well to me, not worth it... I have had the Gallaxy 3s for a week now. Though the screen and gadgets are nice, the wireless connectivity is slower than my HTC was. To start off with, I am a long distance commuter (500+ miles per week). With my HTC, I was able to play pandora through bluetooth in my car, and when I hit traffic, without changing anything, I could look up google maps traffic and alternate routes, no problem. (in less than two minutes to full route guidance) With the Galaxy, it took 10 minutes just for it to not give me anything. (I tried this procedure numerous times) The map wouldn't even load up let alone traffic and alternate route guidance. In order to get what I need out of maps, I have to shut down pandora and turn off bluetooth. Even then it still takes 8-10 minutes to get traffic and start guidance. While on the road, and the next ramp is your alternate route, taking 8-10 minutes to tell me the traffic ahead is unacceptable, personally. Other than that, when on wifi, the Galaxy seems slightly faster than my Evo was, with better resolution, no argument. Regarding the battery life, with average use, streaming music or not, I seem to find myself charging the phone twice a day, atleast. It seems to last about 3-4 hours with streaming and about 8 hours without, just general texting and facebooking. However, with that all said, it will probably do fine for the average user. As for me, I will be trading this decent phone in for a Galaxy 4 or HTC One.

Just Great, Except for the Buttons
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really love this phone, the screen size, sound and the camera are the high points. The low point is that the buttons are very sensitive, especially the side button that turns on the screen, always knocking into that and turning off or on the screen when I don't want to. Needs to give us a very small amount of more time to tell it what we want. Other than that, super great!!!!

Great phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this phone on sell for $99.00. I wanted the Note, but they did not have the color I wanted in stock. So I went with this phone. it is a great phone. Easy to use, easy to pair with your other bluetooth devices, and add to your home network. I use this phone as my camera, my new MP3 player, and also as a video camera. Great for getting on the internet with when I am not new a computer and need to look up some information.

Samsung Galaxy S-III great phone!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this phone as a tech-refresh from a three year old HTC Hero prior to a cross-country move. The S Voice (Siri equivalent) is useful. I found it by accident when using my Blu-Tooth headset when I held the button too long. I was able to say "Call Person" and it dialed. I tried, "Find Gas Station" and I got a list of gas station and access to Google Maps. The one down-side is using the Galaxy S-III with Sprint where there is still limited 4G service (and you still have to pay the 4G access fee, extra $10/month.) I did pass through a city that had 4G and it worked great! An office-mate has a S-III using Verizon, where there is 4G is the download speed it amazing. One feature I had to turn off was the "Connections optimizer" under Mobile Networks. This feature would turn on Wi-Fi to look for signal, even if you turned Wi-Fi off. Some have complained this contributed to lower battery life.

Awesome phone...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is AWESOME... I chose this over Iphone4s... I hate apple products. There are so many features to long to list. If you are due for an upgrade or looking to buy a new phone - this one is for you. I have had several Samsung phones in the past, this is the GEATEST one I have had so far. I have had NO issues or problems at all, I have had it for 2 months now. My wife thinks she will also get this one instead of the Iphone... wise choice.

This is a great phone period
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unbelievable phone and what it can do. I am amazed at how many things this phone can do and it’s hard to remember it is a phone. The apps are great and this phone is smoking fast. The battery holds up for a long time under all day usage. Call quality is very good and the speaker portion is super loud. Still playing with it and with so much more to discover. Great product. Works great as a Wi-Fi device and connections speeds are fast. Only drawback so far with this phone is we still don’t have LTE yet here in Phoenix but I know is coming soon and I can’t wait to see this thing fly. If your in the market for a little bigger phone display, you won’t be disappointed.

great phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first "smart phone" so I don't have a lot to compare it with but the phone works great. The large screen makes it east to play games and to see pictures. Playing games seams to run the battteries down pretty quickly.

Great combination of larger size and Android 4.1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Galaxy S III larger size makes it easier to use for all phone and application uses. I can't speak to the technical aspect of the graphics...but the larger screen is good for older users with declining eyesight. It is easier to view images and the larger soft keyboard reduces typing errors.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best android ever since I used Evo 4g. Every features is upgraded except for the rear camera which only matches the evo but everything else like the picture and video quality, call features they have large numbers, contacts can be joined with multiple accounts, very fast because of inceased ram and internal memory, slim and very handy, world class smartphone which is currently unbeatable.

Only had 24 hrs, but great so far!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I want or need apps, I'll get them. The phone should not come cluttered with apps. The price and buying process was great. James, a Mobile Sales Consultant in Hagerstown MD was very good. He wasn't a typical arrogant sales guy. I took advantage of a current promo: bring in working Smartphone, and get a $50 off a Samsung Galaxy 3. With a 2 yr upgrade it cost $50 for the phone. So, the total cost was $0 (there is an activation fee added to carrier bill). The phone is pretty user friendly, light weight, and nice looking. http://gma.yahoo.com/bring-working-cellphone-best-buy-free-samsung-galaxy-161352786--abc-news-topstories.html
