Love the S10e
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this phone! It is a little smaller than the other newer smartphones, but it's the perfect size for me. The screen is still big enough to do everything I need to do on my phone. I hope I can buy this exact same phone again when this one dies. Hope they keep updating it! Oh, and my husband has the S21 and he thinks my S10e camera is better than his newer more expensive phone. And I'm not talking about the "specs" I'm talking about in reality, taking a picture of something with one phone and then taking a picture of the same thing with the other phone. The pictures on my s10e always turn out better than his.

Not as good as the marketing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start, I generally switch between Android devices and iPhones every 3-4 years. The last Samsung I used as my personal phone was the S7 and I was using an iPhone X prior to making this switch. Pros: The price point seems highly competitive, especially when comparing to any of the current Apple products. The phone is a great size and easy to use with one hand comfortably as opposed to some of the monster phones that are offered currently. The screen looks amazing. Having dedicated auxiliary jack and expandable memory are massive pluses in my opinion and why I ultimately chose this over the Pixel 3. Cons: Call quality was atrocious. Initially, the phone would not make calls, but rebooting it fixed that issue. The sound I was getting from folks I was on the phone with was muffled severely and all but one person that I talked to complained about how I sounded as well. The second issue I had with the phone was with the Samsung device, Android Auto was far less compatible in my vehicle than my co-worker's PIxel 2. I have a pretty simple car, so I use the phone integration for Navigation, music, etc., so that functionality was a must have for me. The app would work fine as long as I manually did everything through my car's touch screen, but any voice commands for making a call, sending a text, getting directions, etc. would get the generic response from the Google Assistant of "I cannot do that at this time". Finally, accessory wise, it appears the Android line is still lagging far behind. Some of what I would consider basic apps I was using on my iPhone and Apple Watch are available for the phone, but will not work on any of the current Samsung or WearOS watches that I could use with this device. Probably not ultimately Samsung's fault here, but it has to be hard for developer's to make apps that support some of the openness of the implementations of the Android devices. Overall, the phone might be great for some, but for my specific needs of great vehicle integration, apps that will run directly on the wearables, and call quality I was not happy with the device and returned it to Best Buy. Only out a restocking fee for my experiment. Unrelated to the phone, the associates at my local Best Buy store were great at going through the process of setting up the phone, transferring data, and ultimately helping to re-enable my old device. 5-stars for Best Buy in that regard.

I'm 'Die Hard' Apple...BUT...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this phone for my wife back in March 2019 from Best Buy Coconut Point. ...having seen this phone in operation, the fantastic screen and most amazing photos it takes, I'm starting to move closer to the sideline. I have to admit this is an awesome phone. Nice option to be able to bump up the RAM, and also the ease of use with a Windows Laptop. The photos taken at night time are incredible. Well, she's ecstatic about it...happy wife, happy marriage... :-)

Neat, but no.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like this phone. I have been shopping for a replacement for my S7 now that it is 3 years old, the battery is almost gone, and the rest of the phone has electric arthritis. I prefer a phone with a flat screen. Curved glass adds nothing for me, so I was excited when I heard the S10e would bring back the flat screen. Overall the S10e is decent, but a few details killed my interest. First, I am incredibly picky about screens. I like rectangular screens with square corners. The rounded corners of the S8 and newer annoys me, but I might get past that. I hate screens with camera notches. I see it as nothing more than a gimmick to claim a bigger screen. The new camera hole is even worse. The sliver of screen that wraps around the hole serves no purpose as it is too small to even hold the battery %. As a consumer, I have to wonder how much this gimmick cost. A few other features are neat, but ultimately pointless. Using the phone as a wireless charger? I have never wanted to charge a device at the expense of the phone battery. Overall, if you are OK with the design, then the features may be what you are looking for. For me, this is a "lite" phone at full price with features that undoubtedly added to the cost, without adding to the usefulness.

Fantastic phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife has had the S10e for a few months now and loves it so much more than the s8 it replaced. No curved screen is a huge plus and the phone is a perfect size.

Bloatware, Poor Wifi, Buggy Verizon Activation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The bloatware on this phone is astounding. Samsung has created an app for everything, and you are unable to either uninstall or disable those apps. If you try to cut back their permissions, you will get warnings that your phone may not work properly. For example, I don't own a wearable device, and don't plan on owning one, but I am stuck with the Samsung Wearable app. At least I bought the 128GB version of this phone, I just hope all this bloatware doesn't eat up too much RAM. The wifi antenna is far worse than on my old Samsung J3. My Samsung J3 would continue to get wifi reception from my apartment while I was sitting outside in my car. The S10e does not. I share a data plan with two other people and in order to cut down on data costs, I need to be on wifi most of the time. I worry about my capacity to do that on this phone. I bought the Verizon-enabled version of this phone. The Verizon set-up wizard has some bugs. I entered in my account PIN correctly and it would not activate. When the screen came up to re-enter it, the text box did not appear on the screen. I went to the Verizon store for help, and all they did was take the SIM card out of my old phone and put it in my new phone, and now neither will connect to Verizon's network.
