A little difficult to navigate. Takes good pictures. Good battery life. Speech to text is terrible. Unable to get it to even recognize a single sentence in a text message. I have always had Samsung phones and my last phone was a Motorola. Wanted to go back to Samsung because of the quality of the phones I had in the past. Really disappointed in this phone. I would return it if I hadn't all ready gone past the time to return.

Extremely Fragile

I figured it was just me but the same thing happened to my mother a week after she got hers. There aren't enough quality cases available to justify buying this phone without the protection plan, but the deductible on that is just as high as the buying price. I love the camera though, and the audio is great. The data runs slow but I blame that on Verizon. Ultimately, other its fragility, the phone is a good deal.

Decent phone but with one big flaw

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace my 3 year old S8+ which was still working fine albeit a bit slower than when I first got it. Sale price for Black Friday made it an attractive deal. I did some research before buying because I was also considering the non FE model for the extra 2gb of RAM. Overall phone is good. Battery life isn't much better than my old phone which was disappointing since this one has a higher capacity. I tweaked my power settings and with average daily use I'm getting about 24 hours between charges. Most disappointing problem is with the screen. I get random key presses at times just from holding it and at other times it is not responsive. Samsung has issued two firmware updates to attempt to correct it but the issue persists. I may consider returning it as I've had it for almost a week now. Otherwise it's a Samsung smartphone. Nothing groundbreaking over the last few generations. At $400 off MSRP it's a decent deal but at the regular price it's not worth the upgrade in my opinion.

Just ok

One thing i overlooked is that there was no headphone jack. Only wireless is possible. My fault but it should be a basic part of any smart phone. Also only facial recognition to unlock vs fingerprint that I had on the S9+. The volume and lock controls are on the same side that also makes taking screen shots a bit clunky. It does connect easy to any Bluetooth device but when playing a music app if you use the camera the music will silence which is annoying.

I used it for about two three days, and realized that video streaming was not near the quality even with my s8. I thought I could get over it, but I ended up returning it and paying extra a bit more to grab the s20 which is a significant improvement especially when watching things like twitch and Netflix on your phone. Besides the quality of the screen, or lack thereof, it was a great phone, good feeling your hand, and great screen size.

Not everyone likes blue tooth ear phones. I am having trouble finding an app to sync my contacts from Outlook to the phone. This was simple with my previous phone.

Great hardware, User Interface lacking

Coming from a Pixel 2 (and a Samsung Galaxy S6 before that) was a bit of a disappointment, however, due to the Samsung Android experience being a diluted and more convoluted version of my experience on the Pixel 2. I knew that coming in, thought I could tough it out for the value, but was mistaken. I ended up exchanging for a Pixel 5 and I do not regret that decision.

Camera is STILL terrible

However, Samsung has had some issues with the camera / quality of pictures on the last few Galaxy models... and this model is not an improvement. You have better-looking images if you take a short video, and then extract screenshots from the video. Some articles claim there isn't actually a problem with the camera itself, but rather with the software that processes the inages. Either way, same result = bad quality images... and Either way, I would not recommend this phone if you're into selfies & taking lots of photos.

Phone was fine but not the service from verizon

But I was not informed about the additional cost related to monthly billing from Verizon. I enrolled for $30 monthly plan but when I received the very first bill I noticed the outstanding was $130. Also, getting someone from verizon to answer my questions was a daunting task. For that same reason, I had to open the phone to get the app installed and get my questions answered.

Samsung has done away with the pulse and stress measure feature under Samsung health. I have had the screen freeze up when trying to navigate. Not nearly as happy with it as previous Galaxys.

Speakers don't work in cold weather

I'm on the phone most of the day outside and live where the temps will get well below 30. This will be a problem.

Buyer remorse...

I must say I miss the G6. While the new phone is faster it is far less reliable. Between the dropped and the glitches its just not worth it. Luckily i got it on sale.

Happy with phone, not Best Buy

Problem is I was not told that there would be a $40 upgrade charge when I got 2 phones. Nice surprise when my bill is significantly higher. Expected the monthly charge but not the upgrade fee which I think is absurd in the first place.
