Customers are saying
Customers recognize the Galaxy S7 edge as a well-designed phone with an excellent camera and long battery life. They appreciate that it is unlocked and easy to use. However, some find the edge feature unnecessary and the phone to be fragile and expensive.

Not the phone for you if updates are important
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the unlocked S7 edge because I was led to believe that these phones would be a priority and receive updates before the carrier versions. This sounded great to me since my carrier (At&T) was always the last carrier to update. Well AT&T updated to Nougat in February and the unlocked version is still on Marshmallow with the last MONTHLY security patch being as of December 1, 2016. Monthly updates are non-existent. Before December update, the last security patch had been in September. It looks like they might be updating quarterly vs monthly. Not good enough. If technology is important to you - and it probably is if you are looking at the unlocked version - you will be severely disappointed in Samsung. I have been a loyal Samsung customer for years but this will be my last Samsung phone.

Over hyped product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am comparing unlocked S7 edge with Sprint locked S6 edge+. The S7 edge screen is smaller both in width and height as compared to S6 edge+. The S7 edge is heavier than S6 edge+. The touch screen experience on S7 edge is lot inferior to S6 edge+. The touch keeps moving the icons around very easily. The S7 edge is slower than S6 edge+. The 32GB storage is useless as compared to 64GB on S6 edge+. To enhance storage, I added a 128GB microSD card. It is proving to be a lot slower. After taking 4 pictures, the camera just stops working for several seconds as the photos are encrypted. This never used to happen with S6 edge+ with encrypted storage. So, you will get a smaller screen with more weight, lesser storage and slower response with S7 edge as compared to S6 edge+. Also, unlocked phone gets updates lot slower than carrier locked phones. The S6 edge+ was on November 2016 security patch level, whereas S7 edge is still on September 2016 security patch. I am not even sure if unlocked S7 will ever get Android 7 update. Unfortunately, I could not find S6 edge+ anywhere and had to settle for an inferior phone because I cracked the screen on S6 edge+.

No Timely Android Updates For This Mobile
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this mobile expecting that it will get android updates before locked phones but I was wrong. I am still on 6.0 and no updates or communication from Samsung on Nougal update for this phone. It is very disappointing Samsung considering this for update at very last. Buy if you don't need timely android updates and if you are happy using old OS. I recommend not to buy any unlocked Samsung device.

Good Phone, Bad Duribility
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The phone works great but the screen is too delicate. I dropped the phone about 3 feet and one long crack appeared on the screen. Later the phone slid off my lap and fell about 6 inches and the screen shattered. I even had an Otterbox on the phone. Love the look and feel of the phone but needs a tougher screen that can survive minor drops.

Poor Screen Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I heard nothing but good things about this phone and Samsung before purchasing the product. Within 3 months of purchasing and despite having a silicon and hardcover case along with a screen protector - one drop will crack the screen. Because the screen is curved along the edges, it makes the screen easily vulnerable to damage and hard to protect. Also, screen burnouts and "spider-web" cracks are common from what I've gathered in other negative reviews. You're better off purchasing a cheaper smartphone.

Do NOT buy this Phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Samsung Flagship product unlocked yet no updates since December 2016. Do NOT buy this phone if you want a product with fast (or any) updates. A carrier locked phone will be a better option than relying on this manufacturer. Unlikely to ever receive the Nougat update according to the forums. Last Samsung device I will be buying after this experience.

Cannot get service from major carriers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm very unhappy with this purchase. Virgin Mobile, who I'm currently with, is useless as they are not even offering the S7 Edge, so I recently visited my local Verizon store and was told that this phone could not be transferred over to their service. The sales associate attempted to "force" it over using a SIM card, but to no avail. Am I missing something? Can Best Buy reconfigure this somehow? Otherwise I just have an expensive paperweight on my hands as it is past the time of return.

Phone is good but!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is what I think: I always preferred Samsung and This is my 3rd samsung device. Unfortunately, this time it failed within 2 months of purchase. Ambient Light sensor stopped working! I had Note 3 which had Mic stopped working after 11 months. Not worth of $700. I have now decided to try Apple. Bye Bye Samsung!

Won't let you use 4GLTE data in AT&T Network
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want to use this unlocked phone in the AT&T network, be warned that you will not be able to use 4GLTE data in AT&T network with this unlocked phone. Called AT&T tech support and they say they can do nothing about it. Then called Samsung support, they also said they can't do anything about it. I am going to return this device.

No update rollout, even though you pay full price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When you buy an unlocked phone you expect the OS to be updated regularly without having to deal with the carriers, Samsung just doesn't care about it...

DO NOT BUY UNLOCKED S7
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Samsung is not pushing updates to the Unlocked S7 devices. Stick with a carrier locked phone.
