Upgraded from an S6...like the improvements especially the screen.

I love the Samsung Galaxy S line of phones. Comparing this to my previous phone (s6), seems to be faster. Better camera. Still trying to get the hang of Bixby, but feel like the phone will be awesome once I master it. No complaints yet.

The next Samsung is better than the last. Love the battery life.

The display is supperb with the brightest setting too bright for any circumstances other bright Sun light. The lack of an IR blaster is disappointing in such an expensive and top-of-the-line phone. Audio quality with headphones, earphones or external speakers is outstanding. There is a quirk with the Contacts settings. The sort settings (first name or last name) work properly for the phone app but not for email/texting apps. I have not been able to get the edge lighting to work. This problem is apparently common according to many Internet reviews. The dedicated button for Bixby should be re-thought and perhaps eliminated. The button can be disabled or re-assigned using one of a few free apps. The phone itself is beautiful, but most people will put their S8's in a protective case.

I formerly owned Samsung Galaxy S3 for way too many years. It took a beating literally; it even had a cracked screen, which this was the 2nd screen. The 1st was totally broken. I was thrilled to finally buy new cellphone Samsung Galaxy S8. Love the new features, esp Samsung Health, which I always use. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when S9 came out with much better camera features. I love taking photos. I'm still learning about my S8 but enjoy having a new cellphone, esp one that charges fast & the battery lasts all day. However, I would recommend moving Bixby button closer to the bottom edge of cellphone versus on exact opposite of the shut off button. Sometimes when I want to use Bixby, I tend to also press the power button on opposite side at the same time.
