Most Beautiful and Functional Device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone has improve on so much from it's last year model. The camera is awesome. The battery life is perfect (I play Pokemon Go). I had problems with my Pixel XL overheating and battery draining. This device does not get as hot and battery lasts me several hours more than the pixel would. Not only is this the most beautiful device *looks at the iPhone* but it has some features you can really use. Bixby while taking some getting used to has really got me hoping it keeps improving. Overall this device simply cannot be beat right now. I will be looking at the Note 8, as I am a loyal Note series fan (I have owned all of them).

Excellent Battery Life & no issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use the battery saver set on medium most of the time. I turn off WiFi or mobile data when not in use. My battery life is always a little over 4 days between charges. I have screen shots to prove it. No issues so far. Love it. Works great. No regrets.

Excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my wife. We both buy a new Samsung Galaxy phone every 2 years, so this one replaced her older S4. So far so good. She is the opposite of a geek and found this phone easier to use than any other. It is very unusual for me to hear the words “I really like my new phone”. She likes the big screen with its beautiful brilliant color display. She also likes its ease of use, fast overall performance speed and excellent battery capacity. Drains less than 50 % in a 24 hour period so she can go more than 2 days on a single charge. It also charges very quickly.

iPhone be gone!! (See*about your rebate etc)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was blown away on every level! Battery over 3days, screen is stunning, call quality perfect, SUPER FAST, love that I can disable/remove the "bloatware", literally everything expandable storage, wireless charging, Bluetooth... also the design is not just beautiful but also much easier one handed, I use the iris or facial recognition instead of finger print, bc the camera is stunning and the place is not a flaw when so many other options are available to unlock it! -The store itself on the other hand not only screwed the whole order up, forcing me to wait on exchange, never processed my refund and ***online never gave me the $200.00 e gift(bought full retail online for store pick up along with the accessories)

Unless You Need The Pen, Skip the Note 8!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my Galaxy S8+ for about a week now, having spent a long and frustrating 2 years with the LG V10. The difference is like night and day. The battery life is outstanding (Only drops down to 50% after a full day of use), the screen is crystal clear, the camera is really good, and the whole device is very fast and snappy. There are so many features and functions of this phone that I haven't even had a chance to try out yet. If I had any negative issues with the phone, it would have to be the fact that the Bixby key on the side of the phone can't be remapped for anything else. Also the Edge feature takes a little getting used to as I accidentally triggered it many times when I meant to do a right-swipe. However, that can be alleviated by going into the settings and moving the Edge indicator to a more convenient place. Speaking of placement, please ignore any review that complains about the Fingerprint scanner. Once you get used to the position, it's perfectly FINE. If you have small hands, then, of course, you'll wanna test it out to see if it'll work for you, but overall, the Fingerprint sensor is in a good position and does the job reliably. Also, there are plenty of other methods to unlock your phone including the standard pattern draw, PIN and Password. You also have the option for Iris Scanning, which while it sounds cool, is not for me. You should be warned though that if you are a fan of Otterbox cases you will have to buy a screen protector as OtterBox cases do not have a plastic screen protector for the front due to the curved Infinity screen. I recommend the Zagg Invisible Shield. While, yes, it is pricey, it does come with a lifetime warranty. So in conclusion, unless you ABSOLUTELY need the S-Pen functionality and the dual lens camera, and you don't mind paying $1000 for a smartphone or having a smaller capacity battery, go for the S8+. It's the better bargain for your money.

Fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone has plenty of storage room so it processes very quickly. It is not only fast, but it has a great battery. I didn't think I would like the curved screen, but I really like that feature. Over all, it has exceeded my expectations.

A really great phone. Definitely flagship price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This first part of my review aims to answer the question, “Why would someone pick up this product?” The answer? I mean, have you seen this thing? A killer display, top-end specs, a battery that (hopefully) doesn’t blow up…what more could you ask for? All joking aside, ever since Samsung’s blunder with the Galaxy Note 7, the tech community has been waiting for what might be the next big thing from Samsung. I’m a Samsung fan, at least in theory (less in practice), but as an owner of the original Galaxy (the Vibrant under T-Mobile), the Note 2 AND the Note 4—I’m very familiar with the great products that Samsung brings to the market. Over the last couple of years, cameras on phones have become, well, full-fledged cameras. The S8+ is no exception to that, although some people would have liked to see Samsung make a bigger update to the camera from the S7 and S7 Edge. But the screen—that is the reason you come to play this game. When I think of a truly hot smart phone design, I don’t usually think “screen.” Sure—screen is important but it’s not the be-all end-all, at least not before the S8 and S8+ were released. The screen on this phone IS the design…and it’s executed magnificently. Upon release, there are a couple of different buyers of this phone. The first is the tech junkie…and that’s where I fall in. The latest, the greatest, the hottest—you gotta have it, and you are willing to pay for it. Then there’s the other folks; the ones who happened to be ready for an upgrade at the time the pre-orders started. Best I can tell, both buyers will love the device. Still, there are a couple of really big factors in picking up a phone like this. You buy this phone because you have to have a top-notch camera in your phone. 4K video, sharp rear-facing shots, a really great (if you’re into that sort of thing) selfie camera…even though the improvements over the S7 line seems nominal, there are upgrades here. It IS a new camera, and it delivers. You also buy this phone because you’re in bed with Google, or Samsung (this coming from someone who is in bed with Apple). I use all the Apple suite of products, pay for their cloud storage, buy their phones and laptops (to the dismay of my bank account balances)…so I recognize the value in living within an ecosystem. If everything you do is already in the Google cloud, and ecosystem is important to you, you’re much more likely to stick with an Android phone. And all those things, no matter how basic (email, photo storage, etc.), are handled without any hesitation from the S8+. And like I said before—you’re buying this thing for the screen. It’s not just about having a super-bright, super-efficient AMOLED display; it’s about having a freaking ginormous display in the body of something that across the industry will have a much smaller display on average. Samsung’s Infinity display with “bezel-less” sides and very little chin and forehead makes for an exceptionally brilliant screen, albeit one with a bit of a weird aspect ratio. But, I’m ok with it. You also buy this if you don’t want to wait for the next iPhone in September…because that’s a long way away. Nothing on this phone should be bad—so build quality, camera, processor, memory, storage, setup, boot time—all are delivered exactly as expected with what is (at least today) among the top 3 best smart phones in the world. We’ll start with the screen. Initially, an edgeless display is a bit of a weird experience. I think I’ll adjust over time, but a combination of the weird tall aspect ratio and the curved display makes for a very different phone experience. The curved display does wonders for handling the device, allowing it to be a bit thinner and easier to hold with one hand. From an experience perspective, where the display bends away from your vision there is a bit of a glare line that makes sense but is a bit on the annoying side. Overall, it’s a very good display—clear, bright, HUGE—but it also takes a little bit of an adjustment if you’re used to a more traditional phone design. The battery on the S8+ is a 3000mAh battery, which is just fine, but seemingly nothing exceptional. As most other reviewers are saying, I guess it makes sense that Samsung is going to play it safe here. But they didn’t have to. For me personally, I typically plug in phones while I drive, which is enough to keep me from having to charge more than once every couple days. And the battery on my current phone (iPhone 7+) is stellar, getting me almost 2 days of charge if I need it—and 24 hours without issue. With the S8+, In the first week, I’ve gone stretches of 36 and 48+ hours on a single charge…so in spite of the seemingly small battery, Samsung’s power consumption management in addition to the low-draw display and processor make this a solid performer from a battery perspective. Let’s talk about some of the not so great features: The speaker on the S8+ is not great. A flagship phone should have better sound output. Again, it’s understandable, since the screen takes up so much freakin’ space…but when you’re with friends and you have to show them that new movie preview they haven’t seen yet, you need some good-performing audio. Samsung doesn’t deliver there with the S8+; that said, the included AKG earbuds included with the phone are really solid earbuds and could easily replace my go-to pair. Maybe those make up for a bad speaker, maybe they don’t. The Bixby button. C’mon Samsung….what are you guys thinking there? I’m an Apple user, who doesn’t use Siri (unless I’m in the car), and even I think you should just go with Google on the digital assistant. All the work is already done for you. I’m not even that upset about not being able to remap the button, but at least let us disable it so we don’t accidentally press it. It is worth mentioning that pushing the Bixby button a second time exits the app, so that’s a nice plus. I also want to talk about ports…this is imPORTant (see what I did there?). Samsung releases this top-spec phone in 2017 with a USB-C port. That’s great. But what kind of cable do they include with the phone? A USB-C to USB-A cable! REALLY? What’s nice is, they give you adapters right in the box—but why not include the cable that can support REALLY high speed data transfer natively, then adapt it DOWN; instead Samsung provides a cable that can’t really do anything more than your old USB cables and an adapter to make it USB-C on both sides (without all the advantages of USB-C). I definitely understand that most people are going to connect their device to a USB-A port, and even the included power brick has a type A port…but Samsung could have really innovated here, like they’ve done in the past, by making everything native USB-C to USB-C and adapt down from that high standard only if required. Computers are now starting to make this a standard port, so why not head that direction now? (Insert statement about “courage” here.) Also a quick note about buttons and sensors. As far as unlocking the phone is concerned: pattern, pin, facial recognition, iris scanner, fingerprint scanner—these are all great ideas, but not all of them (except for maybe the fingerprint scanner) are executed well. I will say that I tend to disagree with most reviewers that the placement of the fingerprint sensor is not ideal; adjusting to the sensor’s position isn’t too bad. What does take some adjustment is getting the dang thing to unlock when you want it to without having to wait; also, keeping it from unlocking when you don’t want it to, like when you’re walking around in the grocery store and Rebecca Black starts blaring, and you try to look around as if it’s not you. This, like any other phone takes time to adjust—but as an avid iPhone user who is used to a front-facing fingerprint sensor, I’m slowly acclimating to the position of the sensor on the back of this phone and think that I will miss it when using my iPhone. So, with the few negatives above—there are a tremendous number of positives that very well might outweigh those negatives. If you’re a native “Googler” and you like top-spec phones, are looking for a big-screen device with a great camera, this is a great phone for you. The design is stellar, but the all-glass finish makes it a bit on the slippery side. Of course, that’s nothing the a case or a skin can’t fix—but a case will inevitably cover up (at least in part) what makes this phone great: the edge-to-edge display. If you’re the kind of person who leaves their phone unprotected, make sure you have the insurance, and add this to your collection. And go to dbrand and get a killer skin (how ‘bout that Black Dragon). If you currently have a small(er) phone, and want a nice bump in screen real estate without adding too much to the physical size, you should consider the S8 before the S8+; it is $100 less, has the exact same specs (with the exception of battery and screen size), but still will perform just as it’s bigger sibling. The list is short—but people who should stay away from this device include those native “Applers” who aren’t convinced they need to go to Android (yet). I thought this might be the phone to make me consider switching back to an Android device as a daily driver, but I’m not 100% sure this is the one. And, as with any Android phone, if you don’t want to spend a lot of time tinkering with settings, skip this one and go buy yourself an iPhone (you sheep).

Great Phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went from a Note 4 to this, and am glad I went with the bigger screen. I use this mainly as a phone, and can go 2 days on 1 charge. The camera on this thing is amazing. It is super fast, and easy to use. I am still not used to the curved screen, but I can't complain. This phone is awesome overall.

Nice Color...Best Smartphone Ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Iris scan is one of the features I like best. Also the micro SD storage up to 256GB is an excellent feature. Water resistant and longer battery life due to better power management from the processor. If you use a case it doesn't matter if the phone is black or Orchid grey...they look the same in a case. I love the edge feature and the cameras in these phones are Terrific. If you have an S6 and are considering buying an S8 or S8+ I would buy this one. If you have an S7 I would wait for the S9. I am glad I went for the larger screen and the bigger battery. the phone itself is about the same size as an i-phone 7 but has more screen real estate. 6.2" Screen capture by pressing the power and volume down key. Samsung Pay is a Great feature I have been using for two years now...No Problems. Works in most cases...even square pay dongles on tablets. People are still amazed when I pay with my phone. I never tire watching jaws drop when they say it wont work here and it does!

Best phone I've ever owned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the S8+ a week before Thanksgiving for $350 off thanks to the battery on my previous phone, HTC 10, dying. Where the S8+ really stands out is in the hardware. This phone feels like it's 5 years worth of hardware updates over my previous phone even though it's only a year newer. Samsung screens are quite simply the best. I'm glad that I returned the Pixel 2 XL when it came out because this screen blows it away. On top of that, I've been surprised at how amazing the battery life has been on this phone. It's easily been the best I've ever had on a phone and I've had the Motorola Droid Maxx in the past. I've never had a Samsung phone with Touchwiz on it (only other Samsung I've owned was the Galaxy Nexus) so I cant speak to past software experiences with Samsung, but the S8+ is great! I have it set up so it feels pretty close to stock. With this phone I feel like I get all of the best features of Android except it doesn't have a removeable battery, which no new Androids do anymore. I had also thought about the Note 8 but I don't have a need for the S-Pen and this phone was over $100 less expensive for pretty much the same screen. All in all I have no regrets on this purchase and I'd definitely recommend the S8+. Especially if there are still deals out there for it!

Great phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a galaxy s7 edge and needed to upgrade. I was between the Google pixel 2 xl and this phone. The thing that put it over the top is that this phone has an sd card slot available. Since getting it I've been very happy. Battery holds charge well, the screen is great, and everything seems to respond much quicker. I'm very happy with the galaxy s8+

Great phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently got a Samsung galaxy s8 Plus. I must say I am happy with my purchase. I recently upgraded from my iPhone to the galaxy not because I thought the iPhone was bad but because the way I use phones has changed. I used to use imessage and lived happily in Apple's walled garden and if i were able to get imessages on my Windows pc, I might have gotten the next iPhone instead of the galaxy. But after turning off imessage about a year ago (becoming the green message man), I started missing pictures and group messages. Not using imessage as intend worked, but wasn't ideal. So, I decided to do the unthinkable. Buy an Android phone. I decided to buy the S8 Plus because it is the size I am looking for, it feels fast, and I like the curved screen. The battery life is pretty good and the fast charging is fantastic. The camera is pretty good. The pictures are very clear. Calls are Crystal clear and the text Messages are easy on the eye.

The Pluses are Infinite on the S8+
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from the LG V20, I had my doubts about the satisfaction Samsung's new Galaxy S8 Plus would deliver. But the in-hand feel of this taller and surprisingly light 6.2" device, coupled with the downright gorgeous display on the new Infinity screen, had me won over out of the box. The processor is blazing fast, the camera is fun to make beautiful pictures with, and I get a whole day's worth of play on the 3500 mA battery, with ample charge remaining at night. Not missing the LG and not regretting jumping to the S8+ ahead of the Note 8 release. This is the smartphone I've been waiting for!
