I had the phone for 3 days, was still getting used to switching from an iPhone to an Android. I knocked the phone off my desk, it fell flat on it's back and the glass back completely shattered. I called Samsung, there was nothing they can do about it. I've never had a phone break, first time for everything as they say. I ponied up and purchased an Otterbox Symmetry case for it. I do have the Geek Squad protection but I'm so turned off from Samsung that instead of sending my iPhone 6s Plus back I paid the remaining 11 payments and I'm keeping that instead. Now I have 24 payments on this GS8+ that is basically now a back up phone. There are good points to it don't get me wrong, but it was less than 72 hours old. I've been an iPhone user for the past 10 years, and I'll continue to be after this. If you purchase please purchase a protective case like the Otterbox or Life-proof and take the Geek Squad insurance!

Paid 80 dollars for this case, ive had it for 2 months, already the cover for the charging port has broken off, my volume buttons and the bixby button are broke. The case does not properly fit on the phone. The screen cover is loose and everytime you type on you can hear the separation from the phone and the screen cover.

I have been a loyal android fan - specifically to the Galaxy, but they was all ruined with the edge being incorporated. It does not serve any functional purpose that cannot be achieved by pressing the apps button or by sliding up on the screen to open the apps drawer. It is however a HUGE NEGATIVE due to how fragile the screen is. It may be scratch resistant, but don't drop it from any height on any surface. I purchased an Otterbox Defender and dropped my phone 18 inches from my coat pocket to the floor, and it looks like it took a bullet. Absolutely disgusted with the screen design and lack of practicality. Will not buy another Galaxy as long as the edge is part of the design!

Do not believe Corning's boasts about Gorilla Glass 5, being able to be dropped onto concrete from shoulder height. Maybe on a Note 7, but the S8 is weak. One drop from 2 feet up at a hotel, WITH an insignia S8+ protector... and CRACK...$275 plus plus for a new screen please. Other Samsung annoyances.. not only is "Bixby" an annoying joke but every 5 minutes a "Bixby has closed" message displays. Other apps are always closing. This phone was released too soon. Apple doesnt do that. Then there is the size, I got the + because its rated at over 6 inches. Well this 5.7" LG V20 Im writing on dwarfes the S8+. The S8+ is not the "Next big thing" its a one size fits most compromise. Kind of like a lot of cops think 45's are better guns but the issued gun is a 9mm to accomodate all officers. A compromise. The expanding screen, used for youtube etc doesnt work. Maybe for one or two videos then it gets short and narrow again. Its like 2015 was the golden age for good big screens. Battery life is blah. Missing cool features of phones half its price like two camera lenses or a Hi Fi 24 bit Dac. Some people hate any "edge" design and they dont offer a non-edge anymore. Way overpriced..I guess phone prices will never go down? Finally there is the issue of processing power. Im a serious power user and upgraded to a Quallcomm 835 chip in the S8 from my LGV20 which was lagging hard in typing and multitasking with its Qualcomm 821 chip. Well the s8 was just as bad, barely better on Antutu, and both chips still lag behind Apples processors, and will lag WAY behind when the new iPhone is released. Don't waste your money on this phone. Huawei Honor 8, LG G6 or V20, on One 3 and other phones are 99% as good or better.

I had to return it to Samsung and still don't know when and if I get the same phone back. Got an error and no one could fix it but Best Buy employees were great they tried everything. I like to phone but could not rate it high because of the issue.

I bought this after extensive research to a phone with sturdy glass. The motorola i Previously had was exceptional for years. never broke or cracked despite hard use. Gorilla glass. After researching, i came to the Samsung first time. Its already cracked after being told it was a strong glass and not even a year old. Also I've gone through 5 screen protectors: they slip off, crack randomly without falling, don't stick and just don't work with the curved sides. I'm really dissappointed.

There are too many useless options and there are a ton of ads. Phone got a virus after 2 months

Its just odd, annoying and way to hard to hold. I did give it 1 star for quality of camera but I absolutely hate the set up of these new Samsungs! Thinking if switching to Iphone but have always had Samsungs so not sure what to try but cant stand this one.

I have had this phone for about 3 1/2 weeks and even though the camera and screen are incredible the phone consistently drops calls and is very spotty with the Mobil data! I will be returning this phone to Best Buy and see what my options are!

The screen protector won’t stay on. I don’t like the round edges

As a long-time Samsung phone owner loving the Note 3 for so long and then the Note 7, pre-recall, I was hoping the Galaxy 8 was going to impress me with its new and improved features. Wrong, the so-called Gorilla glass has cracked twice on the back of the phone with falls of just a few feet I am wishing I would have never purchased this phone. The battery life is not good and will not last a day with normal to heavy use. Also, the "smart" security feature that saves you time unlocking the phone allows numerous apps to open on their own and even send texts and make phone calls. The phone is a disaster and can't even get simple screen rotation to work. Is Samsung trying to send me back to the dark side I left years ago? And yes, I dont like those apples but may have no choice!

When I went in to purchase this phone, I was told that I would have the option of purchasing a $99 bundle that came with a SD card comma the VR headset, and Bluetooth headphones. I picked up my phone on the release date and they were already "unavailable". This was the whole reason I decided to preorder the phone in the first place. And I've been trying to get this situation taken care of for over a month now, and they keep trying to blow me off. Countless phone calls, chat sessions, and emails. Very disappointed in Samsung

My third Android. This one is miserable. No instructions on use. Geek Squad in store knows almost nothing about it. Had extreme trouble loading my 3 email addresses. Asking for a new facebook password does not work!! 2 tech people I've contacted have given up on this. If I can find my S6, which I lost, this S8+ will go right back to the store. I've spent and wasted 4 miserable days trying to use this phone. Very frustrating for a person who is president of his company and cannor spend any more time on this phone.

This phone sucks the screen too sensitve drop it once and it cracked. Im going with apple next time

Love this phone. So easy to see things. Easy to use.

Best buy lured people in with false promises of customers getting VR glasses and other gifts only to have samsung constantly not honoring program.

It's stop making calls 3 days after I owned it nobody could figure out what its problem was junk

Poor menu to many hidden options in the menu. Very difficult to operate doesn't work well with some apps.

Phone is slow and features are useless for most part, don't waste your time or money
