Screen breaks, dead spots, no warranty. Don't buy. Only owned since 8/6/19 and they want almost $300 to fix. I use a case that covers the entire phone.

My S9 buying experience great! Purchased on Christmas Eve. It was a little hectic and we had a few hiccups regarding the carrier that I chose, but the Best Buy team was there for me the whole way! They were extremely caring and driven to make sure I would have a phone and service to wish all my friends and family a Merry Christmas the next morning! I woke up the next morning so thankful and grateful for that team of Best Buy employees and I couldn't have been happier! If i didn't express my gratitude enough please let this be another token of my appreciation and thanks. (Pressing 11 for) More than extremely satisfied, Ms. Aubrey M. Lucchesi

Going back to iPhone this thing stinks! Bixby will never compare to Siri and the curved edge makes typing just awful.

The only reason I'm writing this review is because I've seen a lot of negative review on other sites. I got my phone from best buy Friday night. I went in just to check it out. I was going to wait for a deal on it, but i liked it so much I had to get it. The phone is insanely clear and has a stunning display. I'm a long time galaxy user and I upgraded from the s7 edge. This is leagues ahead. I'm glad I made the switch to the plus. The cameras are fantastic. I didn't think phone cameras could be this good. Super slo motion video is good if you have the right lighting. Picture quality is outstanding front and rear, day or night. The ar emoji thing is kind of gimmicky but I just don't mess with it. No big deal. People hate Bixby but you can disable the button. I've found myself using it every now and then. The stereo speakers are mindblowingly good. That alone was worth the switch to me. Overall, great phone. Zero complaints this far.

I came from the S8 plus. This is an incremental upgrade but the changes were made in the right areas. Better performance, battery life, camera, finger print sensor. Glad to finally have Oreo. Samsung needs to tighten up their software update delays.

Great phone, but some annoying bugs for a flagship

Great phone, but some annoying bugs for a flagship phone. Main gripe is that Samsung changed their app icon notification badges. It used to give you the number of unread messages. Now if you've opened the message app at all or swiped away a notification it clears the understand badge count. AND there's no way to sort messages by unread. So my message/ text flow is ruined. I have to scroll down literally hundreds of texts to see if I have any unread that I never read or responded to. I also have the bixby button and button placement overall. To press the power button, you need a finger in the opposite side to push against. And this means I frequently launch bixby when I'm trying to simply turn my phone on. Luckily there are apps to disable or reprogram that button. Lastly this is my first curved screen. It's fine, but offers me no benefit, as the edge features usually just get in the way and open when I meant to do something else, so I disabled them. And then in everyday use the curve distorts video edges for no good reason, and often makes it harder to select text or details on the screen edge. All negatives expressed, it's otherwise a great phone. More powerful than my Galaxy s6, better battery life, speedy, usable with one hand, vivid colors, good camera - all that you'd expect from a flagship phone.

    Very good... for a Samsung

I prefer "vanilla" Android over Samsung's customized GUI, but when it comes to features this phone still has most everything. I've been very disappointed with their AMOLED screens in the past... my stepdaughter has burned both her S6 and most recently her S8 keyboard right into the display permanently. But my wife's S7 is holding out great, so we're going to give this S9+ a trial run. Initially she wasn't thrilled with the curved edge screen. It feels like you're going to drop it all the time. But since we insist on cases, it isn't quite as bad. We went with the S9+ initially because of the battery life... something Samsung isn't good at is conserving power. But the weight and extra height of the Plus is a minus. For smaller hands, it takes some serious concentration to get used to at first. We have a month to return it so we'll see how it goes. And back to that display: Sure, it's vibrant and detailed and yada yada yada but in order to get that kind of look you're sacrificing your retinas. Dial it back a notch and save your eyeballs, along with your battery life. The extra RAM was the biggest selling point for me, since she insists on leaving tons of apps open and notifications on-deck, the phone used to slow down a TON. Switching from Facebook and Facebook Messenger to the Lite versions helped a ton on the S7, so we'll see if she has a much better experience this time around. As much as I hate Samesong, I will say this: At least they kept the 3.5mm TRRS mini jack and an IP68 rating. I wish I could say the same thing for the Pixel 2, which is why I'm hanging on to my first-gen. Comparing my 2016 Pixel XL to the S9+ reveals my bias. I'll take a nearly-vanilla HTC with an unlocked bootloader any day over a Verizon bloated Samesong any day of the week, even if it is two years behind. They're completely different phones and I personally like mine a whole lot more. But to each his/her own... she loves the wireless charging of the Galaxy series.

Had for a year now still going strong

I wanted to wait a year to give a review. The camera is great! When I take photos of my niece with live focus people actually think I had professional photos of her done THAT IS HOW GREAT THE CAMERA IS!!! Samsung notes is great for taking notes whether in highschool or college the record option is wonderful if you have to record a lecture and you can make different notes under different categories. (I wished I had owned a Samsung in highschool I graduated 3 years ago) I think if you can't afford the newest note 10 or S10 the S9+ is still going strong for me. I definitely recommend!

    An honest review

This is a much needed review for bestbuy as many many many of the ones posted 5 stars are from before the phone was released on March 16th 2018. I've had this phone for just over a month now, actually I got two one for me and my mother. So let's dive in The good: The phone is beautifully designed with a finger print lock that I love using, it is fast, and powerful. Skype looks brilliant on it and it can handle a lot of apps. Having the space for a memory card still is awesome. There's definitely not a better camera out there for sure. I can't dispute that. This could have been the best Samsung phone ever made and I've been using them since they made the ones that could flip in two directions to be able to text (prior to touch screens). But... THE BAD: I will start with the design... This is the the world's most fragile phone ever made. I had my phone for 6 hours dropped it in sand and it cracked the out side clear case. Seriously. It blows my mind that a 900.00 phone was sent out made this cheap. It didn't crack the main screen just the cosmetic part so I ordered a case for me and my mother. Hers came in today and literally while trying to put it on she dropped her phone on a carpeted floor and cracked the outside part as well. She has a s9 and I got the s9+. As for the screen and response alot of the things you will need to touch while surfing the web such as the x to close a screen will be located on the roll of the screen where it barely responds to touch. Very frustrating design and if you put a case on it, things get more frustrating. The cases for the phone also make the fingerprint log in almost useless. If you play games or surf a lot of websites this phones swipe motion does not respond well at all. Key pecking works fine but the swipe is just awful. So plan on doing the same motion about 5 times before it will respond. If your still going to get this version phone have a case ready prior or you will regret it. If you still have the s7 model keep it. This phone was made to be broken. It is more feeble then a 98 year old lactose intolerant and calcium deficient ladies bones.

S9 superlative phone with SD card slot

I have now had my Verizon S9 almost 6 months. I previously had 3 Motorola smartphones since 2012 snd other Motos before that all the way back to the Star Tac. The S9 operates very smooth and fast on the highest quaity and great looking hardware. The Samsung additions contribute to a great user experience. I switched ftom the Moto Z Force I had had less than 12 months because of irresolvable issues so did not want another Moto (now a Chinese phone beginning with the Z Force lemon). I looked at Pixel and others. In my opinion, the Samsung S9 is the best. Equalled or exceeded only by other Samsungs It is noteworthy that it is the only phone with NO NOTCH, A HEADPHONES JACK, AND AN SD CARD SLOT - the lack of which is a deal breaker for me. It lets me manage my files and quickly physically move everything I want over to the new phone. Overall, I am very happy I switched to Samsung. My next phone will likely be an S10 or S11.
