The phone works well. My spouse works in construction and its great because he can close the phone and i bought a case that clips on his belt and it doesn't drop. Also awesome that there is a protector on the screen.

Good things: beautiful screen, good battery life, folds to be so nice and small. good amount of storage. Nice camera Bad Things: No headphone jack, no micro SD card, screen has had an error where it gets lines it it and i had to reboot and it was fine. I hope that does not get worse. Its not the fastest phone out there but it does come at a pretty high price for not being super fast. its not bad but for the price it should be better. Overall: Its a great size to work with. the screen looks awesome. Overall i like it, I wish the fingerprint reader was on the screen. on the side is not comfortable for me. I would recommend it to someone that wants a phone that can be small enough for a party purse or in almost any pocket. thats the really good thing about this is how small it can be.

I just bought this phone from Best Buy at a tremendous savings over what Verizon wanted to charge. My understanding is that this model has been reduced because Samsung is coming out with a newer model. It is actually the same lower price on the Samsung website, for all carriers, not just Verizon. I am 65 and this is my first smart phone. It can be a bit intimidating at first but seems easy to catch on to. There are many similarities to my IPad but also a lot of differences, as this is Android based. I activated my gmail account on this phone and that opened up a lot more opportunities regarding aps and usage. It was very easy to set up my work e-mail account which is based on Microsoft Outlook 365. I have yet to set up my other Verizon.net e-mail but I don't think it will be that hard. While I still miss my flip phone, I am very impressed with the clarity of this screen. It is as good as a Samsung TV in my opinion, of maybe even better. Very bright, crisp and clear and the colors are amazing. I just downloaded the manual, and it is over 180 pages so I think it will take me quite a while to learn about everything this phone is capable of. The phone is kind of heavy for it's size and the outside is a bit slippery. I ordered a textured case to put on it and also a pouch type belt holder to keep it in when I am mobile. The little bit I have used this phone so far as an actual phone, everything seems to be loud enough, on speaker and not, it is not as clear as my flip phone but that has been the reason I stayed with flip phones to begin with. If I had nothing to compare with though, I would not even be mentioning this. After purchasing at Best Buy, I brought the phone to Verizon with my flip phone, and they happily activated it and moved all my contacts from the old phone to the new one. They showed me how to use it and made sure everything worked ok. As far as the fold in the phone, I do not see any distortion whatsoever when I am using the phone unfolded like a tablet. It is as if the fold is not even there. Very impressive. My only negative comment is about the battery draining faster than the flip phone I have been using. I guess all smart phones have that issue as I have a feeling that I will have to charge this daily. Also, it is a C type USB charger on both ends and does not come with the part that you plug into the wall outlet. Fortunately, my PC has a C type that I was able to charge the phone with. I ordered a couple of chargers online, one for home and one for work. I have a lot to learn about this phone, but my first impression is that Samsung hit a home run with it. And with the super low cost, this is a no brainer to be a top choice in a smart phone for those who are shopping for one. Not to mention the coolness factor of having a smart phone that folds like a flip phone. :)

This phone is a great compact phone when closed. Its not the fragile little phone you may think it is. I have had foe just about ten days now. Ive dropped it several times and it has not broken. The use of watching content in split screen is much more useful than you may believe. My primary use for this phone is as a mobile hotspot and link up my Samsung Fold 3 and iphone 12. I do not play video games on my phone. I am not on social media. I do text message and use the phone to call. I do web surf and everything works very well. Its fast and snappy. Batterly life is a real issue. Unless you have access to a charger, driving, work, then i would not recommend. I currently have and use Samsung Fold 3, iphone 12, Samsung Note 8, LG Velvet 5G. I use this Flip the most. If you drive a Mercedes it connects using android very eaisly. If you use a smart watch, it connects to Armani and Garmin quite easily. I am not into taking pictures using a cell phone. I use a camera. I use an ipod for music playing. The outside screen does more thab what i thought, such as displaying notifications. I can read a text and respond with a few responses from the outter screen. I can review the weather. I can change music. The speakers are not extremely loud when using speaker phone. You need to think of the phone as portable when compact and not consider the phone as a dual screen type device. (Closed screen) vs (Open screen) i am excited to see what the Flip 4 will have to offer

This phone fits my pocket and my lifestyle. I love the portability and light weight while still being able to open to a full size screen. Although the battery life and camera specs don't compare to the S21 Ultra, the ease of carrying a lighter, more compact phone more than makes up for it. Battery life is still better than my old S7 and the camera on the Flip 3 is all i really need. Durability seems like it won't be an issue but only time will tell. Hoping that future models might increase the size of the cover screen and allow quick access to texts and email content. Overall I'm extremely pleased with my purchase!

Such a cool phone. I bought it for both my father and husband, the learning curve is not bad, the color is gorgeous. The display is clear, and the size is reasonable. Its a bit larger than I hoped when folded but overall its almost perfect. The sound quality is solid and the display feels less delicate because it is able to fold closed. Speaker works well. Everyone is impressed by this when my dad or husband use it. We get compliments all the time.

    An Unexpected Upside

Would have given this phone six stars if that were an option. The last time I’d bought a premium phone was 15 years ago – a Moto Razr. After the iPhone was introduced – the death knell sounded for smart flip-phones in the US. Over that period, had replaced the post-Razr LG flip-phone once (NOS from eBay), and the battery three times. It wasn’t that the battery had failed – just that it wasn’t holding a charge as long. Further, the back just slid off, to access the battery slot – no glue that needed to be melted. In any case, was skeptical of the Z flip/fold screens from the outset – and put off by the high price. But became a believer in the foldable-screen technology, after playing with the BB display models during several visits – though I’d have been OK with two half-screens at half the $. This week, my carrier and BB dropped the price significantly, so I bought one. The features I really like: > I don’t need a case, and it fits in my pocket – just like the Razr or LG phones > (the sixth star) Prop it up in flex mode on the desktop, and it’s like a mini-laptop. Aside from the awkward form factor of flat-phones, never could thumb the way 99% of folks seem able to naturally do. On the desktop, though, using two index fingers, can type almost as fast as when on a full-size keyboard using all fingers/thumbs, because of the small reach. And the flex angle is – well – completely flexible. Not just one open position > I can still use my favorite (wired) headset, using a pigtail with USB-C and 3.5 mm connections. There’s a small delay compared to direct analog, but nowhere near as long as a typical Bluetooth delay To net, probably paying a ~$300 premium for being able to fold an S21 (my smarter half upgrades their Galaxy, every third generation - now a S21). Finally, a shout-out to the consistently knowledgeable/ helpful BB staff, across all sales and service roles.

i thought it was just okay when i had it. Wished the battery life could've been better. The cellophane screen cover also lifted in the middle after about 6 months of use, and at the time there was no way to replace it (and removing it was a big no-no.), not sure if anything has changed since then. This was about 2022ish.

ZFlip 3 - Different ...Not Best

The ZFlip 3 is intrinsically different from other phones at this price, and it shows. Naysayers will argue the fact of the performance deficit, specifically in regards to the camera, compared to other phones, even Samsung's own S21 Ultra. Nevertheless, just reading this review means that you are interested in this starkly different phone experience. Honestly, the ZFlip is a wonderful phone, for me at least. I, for one, am not a heavy user of the camera, and coming from an S10+, I don't notice a difference. Regardless, the cameras are "good enough" for a modern phone. What drew me, (and I assume most) to this phone is the aforementioned "stark difference"; the fold. This concept of the "folding phone" reinvigorated my curiosity about phones, as it is so starkly different from the "slab-phones" we have come so accustomed to. My advice for those who are interested in this phone would be to consider some of the downsides. As I mentioned before, the camera is one downside. The Flip's Achilles Heel is its battery. Again, naysayers are quick to judge the phone for its battery. While it is small compared to other phones, this "Flip" is intrinsically not like other phones. Ultimately, I believe that we should not judge Samsung's ZFlip 3 to other phones, as it is so different, rather it is more effective to compare it to other phones of its class, as few and far between as they are.

I have been whining for years that modern smartphones had gotten big, ungainly, un-pocketable and just inconvenient. For perspective, my favorite dumb phone was a StarTac, and my favorite in the early text-and-picture world was the LG Env2. I liked my DroidMini all right, and I'll never enter the AppleVerse voluntarily, so there really hasn't been a phone for me in at least 5 years. That just changed. This is the first truly pocketable smartphone I've seen. I routinely carry it in a front pocket of both jeans and slacks with no discomfort. And because the phone is folded shut, there's no risk that other pocket contents will scratch the main screen. In fairness it can get a bit dusty -- pocket lint and the like -- but a quick swipe across the sleeve when I open it is fine. The display is brilliant, bright, and beautiful. I never have trouble reading it. The external display is very handy, and includes convenient widgets such as notifications, a clock, and controls for a media player, the (included when I bought 'em) Galaxy Buds, the timer. It also has a innovative selfie mode where you can use the phone's external camera for selfies without opening the clamshell, and the external screen provides the viewfinder. On to the camera. It takes great photos in bright light, and decent photos in low light. I wouldn't call the camera world-class, but that's probably because my main camera is a semi-professional DSLR. I doubt any phone camera on the planet would earn "excellent" marks from me ... I certainly haven't seen one yet. But this is a decent, though not industry-leading, camera for a phone. I really would have preferred Samsung include a telephoto rather than the wide angle, as I think I'd use it more, especially since the wide angle camera has pretty significant barrel distortion at the edges. Colors are saturated, automatic face recognition is excellent, and the Pro mode even takes raw digital negative (DNG) files which can be run through post-processing to capture more detail in light and shadow. As I said though, low-light photos tend to be a bit grainy and much harder to get sharp focus. One of the places the folding screen really shines is with the camera. When the camera is partially folded (say at 90 degrees), the viewscreen divides to have the image preview on half of the screen, and camera controls on the other half. This is, for example, really handy if you want to take a photo close to the ground ... by inverting the display, the camera can be looking across the ground and you can see the image on the lower part that's looking up at you, meaning you don't have to contort yourself to take a picture. People complain about battery life, which is certainly the ZFlip3's greatest weakness. For my usage pattern, it doesn't matter -- with 4-5 hours of screen time a day, some photography, some navigation, some surfing, texting etc., I find the phone is down to 30-40% by day's end; only once have I seen it drop to 20 and that was a heavy (for me) usage day. In a truly normal day I find it rarely gets down to 60% though, so for me it's fine. I've achieved this partly by setting the screen brightness fairly low (but still very easy to read/see), and limiting what apps are allowed to access background data. However, if you're the kind of person who does a lot of gaming or video watching, you'll probably find this phone's battery is unacceptable. I'm not that person. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the Z Flip3’s fingerprint reader, which is hands-down the best I have ever used. It’s integrated with the power button on the side of the phone, and its use is as close to transparent as any security device I’ve encountered. It wasn’t always thus for Samsung … my venerable Galaxy Tab S has a reader that requires me to slide my thumb across the home button, and if it succeeds 50% of the time I consider it a good day. The little reader next to the camera in my previous Galaxy S8 phone was better, but this one is so snappy, so responsive, it amazes me. The power button is perfectly positioned for the phone in my hand, such that my thumb naturally hits the reader for a seamless experience. The huge question -- and nobody can know this early -- is how durable the ZFlip3 will prove to be. Time will tell, but initial experience is pretty positive. The impressive hinge mechanism appears engineered to keep the phone's innards dry and protect the folding screen, and it feels really solid. The folding screen is purportedly rated for 200k folding cycles; we'll see if actual experience bears that out. I am a bit disappointed in the little plastic film Samsung preinstalls on the folding screen; though it's obvious the screen needs one, I've found that mine scratched on the first day. The scratch is only visible when the screen is off, and it doesn't seem to be getting worse, but it's still disappointing. I'm a little unclear on how Samsung will be about replacing that film ... I really would have preferred they design it with a user-replaceable protector. But I'm just going to have to see how that goes. As to the rest of the case, most of it is covered in Gorilla Glass which is still -- well -- glass. I'm not willing to risk that without a protective case. I frankly think it would have been wiser to do the whole thing in the very-solid aluminum of the phone's chassis. Be aware though, that the color finish on that aluminum is subject to wear. The aluminum color is already showing through a few scuffs on my phone after only four months of use. But that's a minimal, cosmetic issue and not something I'd make a big deal about. Bottom line though ... if you are attracted to a small, portable, pocket-sized phone, Samsung got this one right. For me, it's the phone I've been waiting for.

I've had this phone for 2 months now and can safely say I am a fan. I like keeping my phone in my pockets and the folded form is much more comfortable both while sitting and walking or generally being active. The small display screen when the phone is folded is more useful than I previously thought, even after a few weeks of owning the phone (see recent msgs & app notifs, control music player, etc), and the ease of setting up through Google and customizing it to your liking is IMO one of the benefits of Android phones. This would be 5 stars if the battery life were a little better and I highly recommend purchasing a good case if you choose to pick up this model. Yes, it does increase the width and weight of it and affects how big it sits/feels in your pocket, but I feel in its folded form it can be easier to drop when distracted in a rush. My Otterbox case has already saved my phone 2x in just 2 months and was worth every penny!

11 months ago I purchased this flip phone at best buy. It's been a great phone anda great conversation piece especially at checkout in stores. Hard to believe that there are still people who have never seen it,especially with all the hype when it first came out. Anyway the flip has been great. I was replacing my S21 and the flip did the job. I purchased a cover because the flip was a bit difficult to hold but the cover solved that problem. Could not ask for anything more. But,,,,,,,,,,a few weeks ago the inside plastic shield started to lift at the fold. Only about 1/2 inch but I knew something was wrong. Went back to BB they agreed that this could not be corrected and flip s/b replaced. I walked out a few hours later with a brand new phone that didn't cost a cent. The only reason it took a few hours was because of the time it took to transfer info. I am not sure if my BB warranty or Samsung warranty was used but I was extremely happy with my new phone. BB employees are the best. Cannot understand why people mess with other stores when bb comes to the rescue. Bottom line, flip is a decent phone and BB makes it even better.
