A whole new dimension to life for photos and video
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Gear 360 was a natural addition to my Samsung ecosystem. I already have a Samsung Galaxy 7, and Gear VR Headset. I was impressed by the VR experience online and wanted to see what it could bring to my photographs and videos. My first outing with the Gear 360 was when I picked up my son at college. It was a learning experience. For example, I learned that I wanted to hold the camera away from me on some sort of stick or tripod that is directly below the camera else my video’s and picture are held by a huge hand. I got an extension stick with a tripod and headed off to a family reunion. Everyone at the reunion was impressed with the Gear 360 and how it was able to take immersive pictures and videos. Since Samsung has made stitching and uploading to Facebook a one click operation, it was easy to share the 360 videos and photos with family. Facebook allows viewers to pan around the videos and photos very easily. Next we were off out west on vacation to Arches and Yellowstone National Parks. This is where the Gear 360 really shined. It is so small and easy to use that I had it with me constantly in my pocket. The pictures and videos and incredibly colorful and rich, we have been able to relive and share the experience. For example, we have picture of us under delicate arch and we can look 360 up/down/left right and relive the experience with incredible color and detail. Recently there was a garden walk and my wife asked me to join her. I am not a gardener so I really do not know plants and the world of gardening, but she is always asking me to remember the details of the yards we visited. With the Gear 360 I took many panoramic pictures and can now pull up the yards for her to revisit herself from the comfort of our home. The Gear 360 has added a new dimension to our lives and it is wonderful. The notion of a selfie is now expanded to being a groupie, all the family and friends that are around are now included along with the environment. Zooming and panning are easy to explore things in the scene.

Awesome Product, Great way to get into VR.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the Gear 360 for a month and a half now and I love it. I have used it for multiple events and just for normal pictures at the beach and its been awesome. The camera is very easy to use and the menu is straightforward. Just turn it on, pick your mode and start shooting. I like the fact that you can pick to use both cameras or only one of them, because then I can take Panorama wide angle shots and wide angle selfie if I want. I get many comments on it, because people haven't really seen it before and the white color with the two lens catches peoples attention, but that gives me a chance to geek out and tell them all about the cool technology. The Samsung app is very easy to use and the action director software that comes with it for PC is great in editing and trimming pictures and videos. It would be nice if they could create an app for IOS since I have a lot of friends that are interested in the camera but don't have a Samsung phone. It could be a good way to get more people to buy Samsung products. I have also used all of the shooting modes, which include photos, multi burst shots, time lapse video and regular video. My favorite so far is the time lapse video. I also liked the fact that you can use any standard tripod with it so I was able to use my DSLR tripod. Overall its been a great purchase for me and I have had alot of fun with it.

So Easy and Durable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first got into 360 photography earlier this year on a trip to Italy. At that point, I was taking photos with my phone which meant about 3-4 minutes of spinning around taking the 50+ photos required to stitch together a 360 picture. That got to be a pain especially in crowed areas. With this camera, no more spinning. One click and you've got your 360 picture that allows you to relive that moment in a viewer like the Gear VR. You also get 360 video which you can't do on your phone. This camera is surprisingly durable. I've had it knocked over on a tripod at about 6 feet twice and it kept right on recording. I've found that a selfie stick works really well. We had one we used with our cell phones, but found that if I removed the clamp at the end, it had the screw adapter that perfectly fits the Gear 360. When you extend it up about 3 feet, you can't really see the stick in the shot (gets mostly eliminated in the seam between the 2 cameras) such that it looks like the video is being taken from a drone hovering over your head. With my Note 5, its incredibly easy to share on Facebook and with Facebook's built in 360 viewer, your friends can easily relive your experience. I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

Wonderful 360° Experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera works best with a selfie stick or monopod (tripods work well, too). Some aspects of this camera could be better; some photos and videos it creates on lower settings are really no better than a cell phone. On higher quality, they are wonderful! Would recommend this to anyone who wants a different perspective on videoing!

Samsung Gear 360 my choice as a Pro Photographer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was privileged to have the Samsung Gear 360 for the past couple of weeks to use and appreciate. As a professional photographer, I am always looking at the newest and most unique technologies available to me in my profession. The Gear 360 is the future of photography available today for all to use and appreciate, from the simple snapshot person to the professional photographer/videographer! I have used the following features of the Samsung Gear 360: the still photo 360, the video 360, and the time lapse video 360 features in a variety of settings. What I love is that the 360 photos can be viewed in any photo viewer on your phone, tablet, or computer. The Gear 360 does all the hard lifting with a near-perfect stitching function integral to the camera and independent of any computer. As for video, just mount the 360 on a standard tripod, put it out in the middle of the action, then sit back and enjoy the results! For example, I had been trying to capture my three young grandkids as they played in their family room. Have you ever tried to photograph the wind? Nearly impossible, you say! So are these kids. They move so fast that it is difficult, even for a professional like me, to keep them focused in the viewfinder. That is, until I used the Gear 360. I just set up the camera in their play area, turned it on and it immediately started capturing these kids without any effort on my part. It is like capturing "The Flash" in a video without even trying! Shortly, I will have the task of capturing on 360 video, my 50th HS reunion dinner/dance. I intend on setting the camera up in the center of the banquet, turning it on, and walking away to enjoy my friends while the Gear 360 does the job of capturing the action for an hour or so. It can do this because of the micro SD card that can be used in the camera. For me, that's a 64GB card. Recording time is constrained only by the limits of the battery and microSD card. Once the video is saved on the micro SD card, I can then transfer it to my computer so it can be finished and published using the included full-featured Action Director software running on Windows, I have found I have the tools needed to completely edit the video, render it, and publish it to You Tube or to DVD - again effortlessly, just as I have done with the earlier video of the grandkids I described. This camera is amazing with a bag of tricks I am still discovering. You will not regret obtaining this camera and will quickly be amazed at your own creations!

Best 360 Camera on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As soon as I saw my first 360 photo, I was hooked. Then I saw that Samsung was coming out with their own. I am already a Samsung fan. I have a Samsung phone, tablet, be headset, and now a 360 camera. The Gear360 does not disappoint. It has all the capabilities that you need in 360 camera. Images, video are all great. The Gear360 companion app is easy to use very intuitive and make using the camera very easy. The only downside is that Samsung is so far ahead of the game that many social media sites are still catching up to allow sharing of 360 images and videos.

So much fun!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using the Gear 360 is unlike any camera you've used before. It allows you to capture things happening to simply in one direction, but in every direction without any extra effort, or software interpolation. It does it right out of the box. This camera will be be new event (birthdays, holidays, vacation) camera with which I will record memories, not just of what's happening in front of the camera, but behind the camera as well.

i'm a Youtuber
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this 360 camera for 2 days now got it from Ebay Pre-Owned and it's so easy to use that if you have the latest Samsung Galaxy smartphones you can take your videos and photos from your phone to your computer. the Gear 360 Manager app stitches your 360 content for you. As long as you can use the app and have video editing software that supports 360 video there's no need for the gear 360 Action Director program

Easy to use, great quality 360
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used the samsung 360 gear camera for a few weeks and it's one of the coolest gadgets I've had in a while. If you have a new smartphone or a new pc then go here and watch this video and look straight down: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTyEthELYkQ The camera was attached to a rollbar on the kart but the camera erased the rollbar and made it look like it was filmed from a drone flying above the kart. That's amazing. Seriously. The crazy thing though is I was watching this live as it was being recorded on my samsung smartphone live. I could watch the action live all the way around the track and in the live view there was no rollbar. For more "static" shoots where the camera is on a tripod or just sitting on a table, this thing is awesome. Put on the VR goggles and view it and you're there. Being able to look around and see different viewpoints is so much better than anything you'd get with a standard camera or video camera. The samsung app for recording, viewing, editing, etc videos and photos is really easy to use. Even the camera itself is easy to get to record video and take photos. Posting the videos and photos to facebook was easy. The drawbacks? I tried it where there was a LOT of vibration.. and it just shut off halfway through the shoot and didn't record the video. You can't have everything, and this is a more refined camera than what you would want to bolt onto a kart going 70mph, but I did. Don't do crazy stupid stuff with it (like I did) and you'll be amazed with what it can do.

Quick and Easy to use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the images and they're easy to upload to Facebook. I found that it doesn't upload 360 to Twitter or Instagram, but Facebook photos look awesome! The video is great too! I took footage of me and my friends playing vball at the beach, hanging the camera from the net, and it looked awesome. The video footage does take longer to upload to Facebook, but all those comments you receive is worth the wait. Enjoy!

Good camera, but 1 problem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very durable, cool camera. Battery life is great. 1 thing I don't like is that I cannot see the pictures on my phone unless I'm connected to the gear.

Change your perspective life is in 360
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The gear 360 has changed my perspective on how I look at and enjoy the world. To take a snapshot of my life and then be able to play it back with the gear vr and notice that when I took a picture that there was a plane and a flock of birds over my head. The added feature of being able to remotely control the gear 360 from my Samsung galaxy phone has given me opinions that I had not thought of. The stitching of the images and video was quite fast on the note 7.

An amazing camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everywhere I go, I take it with me. It's small and light weight. I also love that I can look at my pictures and videos on my VR Headset. It's easy to edit my videos and apply effects with the software included. It has a rear and front view camera, which is great when you really want to capture something on only one side. I always use the 360 video and pictures to show my friends where I've been.

Focus problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 1 star is for the build quality and ease of use. The unit I received suffers from the same problem that's being widely reported, and that's the BAD FOCUS quality. Focus should typically be infinity, but with my unit, only objects within a foot of the camera are in focus. The rear and front cameras' focus varies slightly, but not by much. This is a basic function of the camera, which is why I gave it this rating. I will be returning this along with my Note7, so I'm likely done with Samsung for a while until I see improvement in quality by the time the next Samsung flagship comes out. I really wanted to like this, but I'm extremely disappointed.

Serious blurring and slow service ~ outcome tbd
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been taking 360VR panoramas for over 6 years using DSLR and then Mirrorless cameras with special pano tripod heads. I have over a year of experience using Ricoh Theta m15 and then the Theta S 360VR cameras. I have been eagerly awaiting the Samsung Gear 360. Imagine my disappointment when I find that whenever I use the Samsung Gear360 that the majority of my stills, videos and timelapses show very significant blurring on half the 360 field of view. Having searched for reasons I find that a significant number of other users have found this problem, although my camera seems to be an extreme case in that the blurring happens much sooner and so more frequently. I also got an error message on the app that said lens misaligned. After trying the Samsung Service phone number given on the Warranty information that came with the camera for four days in a row and not receiving a reply, I searched the Samsung website and found another number, which when called provided me with an RMA and shipping label to return the Gear360 camera to the Samsung Service center in Texas for repair/replacement. The Gear360 camera was shipped via UPS and was received by Samsung in Texas on 24 August. On the 1st September I received an email that the Service department had now received this, a full 8 days after it arrived, they say that the expected repair date is the 8th September. I will update this review once I received the Gear360 Camera back from the Samsung Service department. Hence so far only a one star review.
