Just bought this today. So heres my review #1, there is only a charging wire, no wall plug for it, so you'll need to charge it by pc or some other USB port unless u have a wall charger. Idk why they did that other then to try and make more money. 2: Ive been using it for about 1/2 hour now. When i started it up says ive burned 1663 calories, considering i wasnt even wearing it thats not possible. So not sure on how that happneed. Also says i took 59 steps to get from bedroom to bathroom, i can tell you i deff did NOT take that many steps, so idk why its saying that. I like that i can see who texts and msgs me from the device instead of pulling out phone. I also have 2 radio apps on phone, it connects to slacker radio, wish i could choose which one to connect too. Fits well around teh wrist, very comfortable. I like that you can change the watch interface to choose different faces. Took a little time to charge it tho it. Had to fuss with the device to get it in just the right spot to charge it. Seems like it was but when u hit hte power button showed it wasnt, fiddled with it and finally got it to charge. All and all i like the device. Its not bad, if they could fix a couple of hte little issues like i want to see how many calories i actually burned, not what it says i should burn and count down and then fix the steps taken it owuld be perfect. One little thing i wish is that you could hear the audio notifications from teh device it self and not phone. But do love that its water proof, good to take in shower so i can see whos calling/texting

Great step up from the original Gear Fit!!

After having the Gear Fit 2 for several weeks I feel I can give my honest review about this. The gear Fit 2 is very light and not as tall or thick as the original Gear Fit and you barely know it is on your wrist. Having the ability to store your music right on the watch and have it connect to your Bluetooth headsets is a major feature that I really enjoy. Now I no longer have to keep my cell phone on me while I run. Also having it tell me how I am doing while I run at specific intervals which I set is also a nice feature, doing that lets me know if I am falling behind or keeping a good pace while I run, to me it feels like I have someone running next to me to keep me motivated. The GPS feature is also nice to have so if your keeping track of your run/walk route it will do that right on the watch itself without the need for a phone connected to it. The only real problem I have with this is it seems inconsistent on what 1.5 mile distance is, one day is my normal route, another day I have to run an additional block or two to get my 1.5 miles according to the watch. It does keep all the other features from the original Gear Fit like the notifications, find your phone, respond to texts via preset replies. Other than that this watch has been a great purchase for me and a large step up from the previous Gear Fit. I highly recommend this to anyone who is unsure which fitness watch to go with.

    Awesome Fitness Wearable

The Gear Fit 2 is a huge improvement over the original Fit device. The options that are currently available as a standard feature, are above and beyond what had to be added from a third party app in original one. The alarm feature is excellent for gently waking you in the mornings without the need to set up anything on the phone and expect to receive it in a notification. The notifications are customizable to allow you to choose only the ones you want to receive without having to receive everything that your phone does. The crystal clear display is easy to read while outdoors enjoying the world, while having the option to adjust for movie time with the family. This is easily adjustable within seconds with a swipe down, then tap the feature, then you can adjust as needed. Comparing the Battery to the Gear S2, it lasts almost a full day longer, with the same notifications being enabled. Charging the battery is just as easy with a reversible charging station that allows it to be magnetically held to the base n either direction. One feature that is included in this Ft2 is the ability to see how many steps you have climbed with a quick swipe of the screen in addition as the steps taken. This is the top of the line in features from a company that is the leader in innovative technology. Highly recommended

I had the band for a few days. I find it a great product, has a GPS unit, heart rate monitor, and music player via Bluetooth. It fits comfortably and is working great. Two things seem to appear in less than positive reviews: the music player, and the HR monitor accuracy. I have uploaded individual songs or playlists easily from a phone. I compared the HR monitor reading to that of a Garmin and a blood pressure monitor, all with comparable values. The step counter does not count if you're holing your hand still, but that's the case for all step counters because they rely on an accelerometer reading. The only legitimate issue with the Gear Fit 2 is the battery life during exercise. However, given the functionality (music player+GPS+HR monitor) I find this acceptable. Overall I find it a great product for the price.

This sports watch is so awesome! I love the added customization features that come with the watch. I have been having fun changing the watch faces. They have a watch face for everyone's unique style. I can control it both from my phone, and the watch itself. The watch fits perfectly. I love how there are many different sizing options to get the perfect fit. The watch is beautifully designed. It is light weight, doesn't dig into my skin, and it is comfortable. The 'Home' and 'Back' buttons are placed conveniently on the watch as well. You can even add a shortcut button press to begin an exercise! I can even put music on it and listen to it through wireless headphones! This is a truly well thought out and beautifully designed a product that I would recommend not only to those who work out regularly but to those who want a way to monitor their steps and other vital signs. The Gear Fit 2 has a slim design with a beautiful curved AMOLED display that can show smartphone notifications and weekly charts. It also has GPS, heart-rate monitoring, onboard music storage for up to 1,000 songs, all-day fitness and sleeps tracking, and automatic exercise detection. I love my new Fit 2! Just seeing it on my wrist keeps me motivated all day long. I also love being able to view my notifications easily when I'm busy and don't have the time to look at my phone or my phone's just not handy. The battery life is exceptional! I got my Fit three days ago and still have 35% battery remaining. It's light weight and the band design is super comfortable and easily operable. I received this product for testing purposes. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Thanks #insidersnet #InsidersGearFit2

Been using my Gear Fit 2 for 4-5 days now, battery seems to last about 4 days without a charge. I linked it to my Samsung S7 Edge and it works great with it. I enjoy the screen and colors and here are my positives feelings so far 1. Fits perfect and comfortably, and is very light weighted. I dont mind wearing it all day 2.Looks nice as well, very fashionable. 3. Accurate step count and easy to see what you have done all day while wearing it. 4. Ease of use, once paired with S7 I am able to change many aspects of it in 1 touch. It also automatically syncs with the S health app that builtin in samsung phones 5. I like the different options for different exercise choices, you can set it to track any type of exercise you will be performing from weight lifting to running.

    Great Fitness Band! Excellent Features!

I received the Gear Fit2 as a test product. I wanted to try it out, because my husband and I have been wanting to upgrade our Garmin Vivofit bands, and this was a nice way to test another brand before committing to one. Immediately, I liked to sleek style and smooth feel of the band. The small size fits my wrist perfectly with plenty of room with the adjustable band. The first night, it fell off while I was sleeping, but has stayed put ever since. I must not have had it snapped all the way. One piece of advice: remove the clear decal on the underside of the heart rate monitor before wearing! Otherwise, the band will not register and will show up as “not on wrist” in the 24-hour log, even thought it was on my wrist. When I emailed Samsung Support they didn’t know that this was all I had to do to correct the problem. They told me to send it in to have it looked at. Glad I figured it out on my own. The color display is really nice. I especially like how it automatically senses when I’m looking at it, but stays off the rest of the time. There’s a great selection of watch faces on the Samsung Gear app. I never purchased one, but rather selected from the free options, which are very nice, especially the pretty, sparkly Christmas tree face. All faces show a range of features including step count, heart rate, time/date, battery, etc. The touch display is very nice. It’s easy to swipe between features including the 24-hour log, settings, exercise, music player, steps, floors, heart rate, and more. Unfortunately, I was not able to use this while walking or working out much due to my busy schedule, but I was happy just to track my daily steps. One time I forgot to time my walk until partly into it. I’m sure I would get used to this feature in time, as I would always have to remember or write down the start/end time of my walks with my Garmin band. The Gear Fit2 will accurately track your walks, runs, etc. You just have to remember to time them. I’m not sure if it will auto-track or not, which would be nice. I really like being able to sync alerts from my phone to my Gear Fit2, such as calls, caller ID, texts, and Tweets. This was especially helpful when I didn’t have my phone right in front of me or if it was in my handbag. The band would vibrate when a call or text came in, so I always knew when someone was trying to reach me. Very helpful feature!! Also, it was nice to turn notifications off at night when I didn’t want to be disturbed. This would be great for someone who needs to be available 24/7 though, because they would always know when someone is trying to reach them. I was initially hesitant about using a band that needs to be charged, but found that it really wasn’t that inconvenient to charge, especially in the evening when I wasn’t active. The band charges fairly quickly and then you’re good to go! The battery lasts 4-5 days, and I usually turn the screen brightness down to 1 or 2, and that seems to extend the battery life. I wasn’t able to use the music player feature, because I didn’t have wireless earbuds to sync to. (I’m simultaneously testing out the Samsung IconX earbuds, but they sync music themselves, so not sure they would work with this band). I was hoping that the music player would play through the band itself, but there isn’t a speaker. That would be an awesome feature, since I like listening to music around the house and during walks, but do not necessarily want to use earbuds for safety reasons. My main complaint with this band is that it doesn’t sync directly with the MyFitnessPal (MFP), which I had been using for a couple of years with the Garmin Vivofit. I had to go through a number of steps (after a google search) to sync MFP with Withings and S Health, and then, there were problems syncing the steps and calories burned. I really wish that this band synced directly (and correctly) with MFP, because it is the most comprehensive fitness and food diary and is my preferred app. I didn’t use S Health, because it lacks the extensive food database that MFP has. I would give this 5 stars if it would sync with MFP. This is a simply a personal preference and may not be a big deal to anyone who doesn’t have a preference or is new to using a fitness tracker. Overall, this is a very nice product. It’s easy to use, comfortable to wear, and has a lot of great features for anyone looking for a band that has it all!! I would recommend this product to anyone.

The watch feels very strong, and not fragile like I thought it would be. I connects with my S Health, so I can go running/walking without my phone. Great in part, but it doesn't do somethings

Overall, I was torn between a 3 or a 4 rating but had to rate it down to a 3 overall. It's definitely a 4 or even a 5 for the things it does well: Tracking your sleep, GREAT for phone alerts and other connectivity with my Samsung Galaxy 6, tracking the flights of stairs you climb and it's a great little portable MP3 player when I don't want to carry my phone while listening to music as I run or workout! Of course, this drains the battery pretty badly for the music, but I can live with that and can still get a few hours of use with music going over bluetooth. It also does a good job of communicating with the Samsung Health app on my Galaxy and letting you know status of what you've done today or this week. I'd rate it a 3 for the things it does "so-so": heart beat, steps taken, recognizing when you workout and loading/playing music on the watch and making it easy to do playlists. It's a flat out FAILURE when it comes to working out at the gym and measuring your activity and calories burned. To be fair, if I was just a jogger, it may work fine for that, but if you go to a gym or do any type of high intensity workouts, it is totally clueless and useless. For example, on Christmas day, I sat on my rear-end and did absolutely nothing and it said I burned ~2,100 calories that day. The next day, I did two hours of SUPER INTENSE workout like I was getting ready for the NFL Combine, did 34 flights of stairs, covered 8,500 steps and it said....I'd burned a whole 2,200 calories that day!!! Wow, really? I lost 8 lbs of sweat over 2 hours of workouts and you think I burned 100 calories??? Wow, really? That's the best it could figure out with all the activity and the changes in my heart rate? Like I said, I'm not giving the watch a total fail here because reviews of every other "sport watch" I'm reading says they all have similar problems measuring workout activity. And also, if I was just doing a nice, slow steady jog it might even do a decent job. I don't "jog" so I will never know. All of my running is sprint work or stadium steps so I'm trying to be fair that it's probably not made for that. So overall, I'm giving it a 3 because it does the things as a smart watch well and I would recommend it to a friend as long as they knew it's limitations on the workout front going in...and that there is nothing any better out there unless you use a chest strap.

I am a bigger wrist gentleman so when I read the wrist size I was already thinking I was gonna have to get something else. When I went into the store a samsung Rep said I should try it in before any decisions are made. Reluctantly, I out it on and immediately loved how comfortable it was especially since I wanted the sleep talking so that was big for me. I than feel in love with the design and the beautiful vibrant screen which you will not find on most fitness trackers. I asked the Samsung Rep what kind of battery life should I expect and he said 2-4 depending on usage which is fair but than finished it with and it charges from 0% to 100% in 45 minutes. I can't complain. It's a great looking device in every respect it does all the tracking types that I want plus it s band is so comfy and stretches to fit my needs. I say try it out. So far I'm a happy customer.

I recently started stepping up my exercise and trying to improve my overall health. The gear fit 2 is super motivational. I have a Samsung Galaxy phone so it all syncs together nicely. I absolutely LOVE the sleep tracker as well and the auto detect for exercise is a great feature too. I read a lot of things about the band popping off, and while I can't say it never happened to me, it only once or twice over the span of a month of basically living in it, and it just came undone, it didn't fall off completely. But it is something to keep in mind for people who exercise vigorously. I also had some issues with it tracking flights of stairs accurately, but steps and distance always seemed to be spot on be it measured from a treadmill, elliptical, bike, or trails. It is super comfortable and it's low profile keeps me from banging it against things like I've done with my smart watch. All in all its a great sports tracker and for the price point I don't think you can find better.

I got this watch for free with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 so I figured I would write a review after a couple of weeks playing with it. The screen is great! It's bright and looks nice. I get a lot of compliments on it. The downside is that it eats a lot of battery life. I probably have to recharge it about every 2 days...maybe a day and a half. The steps counter seems accurate. It doesn't count steps while driving like some other watches I have used in the past. It alerts you when you are not active for a certain amount of time which is often at my desk job LOL I love the sleep function! It's eerily accurate in tracking my sleeping patterns. It knows when I go to sleep and when I wake up and it's pretty accurate. I know I don't get enough sleep and now this watch has confirmed it LOL The S Health app is ok. It gets the job done and gives you enough stats to be satisfied. My BIGGEST issue with this watch that prevents me from giving it 4 or 5 stars is the heart rate monitor function. It's ok to test your resting HR during the day, but when you work out, ect it is NOT accurate at all. I wear a strap monitor and compared the 2 and the they were not close at all. I expected this because most wrist based HR tracking monitors are not as accurate as the straps from my research. A cardio workout that I do consistently and will burn 600 calories on my strap will show like 400 calories burned on the Gear Fit 2. I haven't used it for running because it if it cant accurately track my cardio then why is it going to be correct for my running? I'll stick to my Garmin that has never let me me down. Overall, it's a fun watch to play with if you just want to track your steps, sleep, and overall activity. The HR function is junk so don't put too much stock in it. I don't use the notifications very much except for a few things like text messages, and calendar functions. I don't need facebook notifications on my wrist. Honestly, I wouldn't buy this if it wasn't given to me for free. I would stick with Garmin.

    Great Watch but Defective Band

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I LOVED this watch! It was easy to use and had lots of features. It would have gotten 5 stars if it weren't for the defective band on the watch and the fact that Samsung wouldn't do anything about it. I literally had the watch for a month before it was completely gone. The band of the watch kept coming undone. Sometimes it was on my wrist and i caught it. Other times it would fall off. I just happen to be lucky to see it and notice it was off my arm and saw it on the ground. But on the last day I had it. The watch came undone and I didn't notice it did and I left and drove home. I notice on my way home my watch was not on my wrist. I was so frustrated because it was gone. I tried calling Samsung and Best Buy and they both said its not covered in the warranty. I can see Best Buy saying that but Samsung?? They said they don't cover lost watches or stolen watches. However I didn't misplace or lose my watch. It fell off because of their defective band. I started researching and all on the Samsung forum people are complaining about the band of the watch. Someone else fell off in 2 days and shattered. I AM HIGHLY UPSET Samsung would not do anything. Not even a discount off the next one to replace. So now I just lost out on basically $200. I only had it for a month. It's really frustrating. I commend Best Buy though. Paul from the South-lake store in GA tried to help me out. He did all he could do but it was still a fail. *sigh* I should have just gotten a fitbit because then I would still have it. The band on the fitbit locks like a watch and doesn't have it where you just push it in like the Samsung gear fit 2 does. There is something you can buy to help hold the band together but I didn't find that out until it was too late. Also we shouldn't need to buy it if Samsung had the right kind of lock on it. SAMSUNG really needs to change the design of the band since it's defective and then the watch will get 5 stars.

I enjoy this tracker as it is completely customizable. The screen is very durable and easy to see. I would give this a 5 star rating if it actually gave an extensive readout of your sleep patterns throughout the night like Fitbit does, if the vibration for alarms and notifications was much more intense, and if the band could be changed to something that wouldn't release just because you brush it against something. I have a very physically demanding career abs with all the equipment and gear that I move around, the tracker is constantly at risk of falling off my wrist and getting lost because this band, contrary to Samsung's beliefs, is not suitable for an "Active Lifestyle" as they claim. If Samsung decides to fix the app to track sleep activities throughout the night, makes the vibration intensity adjustable and offers a new wrist strap that can be changed for a truly active individual, I'll gladly give a 5 star rating and recommend this tracker to my friends, family and associates.

First off this watch will last you. I went 3 days without charging it, sleeping with it, and even taking a shower with it. It feels great so far seems very accurate and I never knew I needed one until I finally got one. I got it free with Note 7 phone but now that I have it definitely feels like it is priced correctly. Being able to glance at my wrist with I get a text, hangouts, or even a tweet is great. even replying to messages from the watch or ignoring a call. over all for the price its great amazing and does what you will expect.
