I received this product to test and give my opinion. I love how it keeps track of your heart and exercise in steps. I also like the idea of seeing your messages when you are away from your smartphone. It is a great starter watch for anyone wanting to keep track of their fitness.

Excellent product. I've been wearing the Fit2 all day, everyday, except when I shower. This is when I place the unit on the charger. The battery life is not 3 to 4 days. It is two days. I've placed the unit in Do Not Disturb mode for 24 hours and there is no difference in power consumption. I ride a motorcycle and have Bluetooth speakers. Being able to control my music and phone calls from my wrist makes life much easier.

Gear Fit2 Helps to Track while being in touch

I was on the fence about the Gear 2 as something that could enhance my daily monitoring since I had used another Samsung Fitness Tracker as well as another off brand before to track my progress but found the features lacking. I feel Gear 2 is superior to these older models because the screen is larger and much clearer. The memory allows for a much more versatile experience with music downloads and additional applications that can be added to the device. The custom faces feature is a just a nice to have but of course I have already tried several different looks to suit my mood. It seems to be a minimal time for the charging which I tend to do while checking emails. A full charge can be about an hour from what I experienced. I really like being able to get notifications on the device when away from my phone to keep me updated on mail, texts and phone calls. Being able to send a quick text response is handy but I have not tried to customize this yet. I have tracked my BPM which seems to be accurate during workouts and when sedentary. It would be helpful if the BPM could auto-check during the workouts to create history. I still have not downloaded any music since I have not used that on the phone either but I would like to get a playlist downloaded for outside runs. The integration with the SHealth App on my Galaxy makes it simple to add in my food and drink intake. Overall, this device has been able to make me more productive while enhancing my awareness of my overall wellness.

I have now owned this for a couple of weeks now and I have to say it is very useful. I own a different smart watch and prefer it over this but only because it has a mic. Besides that, this little device is great for monitoring your HR and storing music on the go.

My Nike fit band had just about died, I did some research on the Gear Fit2 and decided to give it a try. I love it! I love that I don't have to carry my phone in my pocket in the gym, it can stay in my bag and I don't have to worry about it. I installed Spotify on it and now I can listen during my workout with out my arm band. Glad I decided to go with this one.

Nice upgrade from first gear fit

I owned the first gear fit and i was happy with it. This new edition has added features that are nice, but the first rendition of this fitness watch was good. The only draw back is that the battery life on watch is only about 24hrs.

    So much potential...

I test ran the gf2 for 8 days. Although I knew after only a day that I would be returning it. The display, looks, fit and feel of the band are spectacular. And they were the only reasons I pushed off going back to my subpar looking fitbit charge hr. Within 15 minutes of putting it on I realized that the 3 times I walked upstairs to prep for my first outdoor run...no flights of stairs were counted and over the next 8 days it counted only 10 of the approx 15 flights I do per day. Then came my first GPS used run...which only calculated half of my route. While mileage was close but not 100% accurate, the steps were way off normal. The same abnormalities occurred with my steps plus heart rate over the next 8 days. During cross fit exercises, there is no option to track the workout with heart rate being counted. The band's "other workout" has an option for moderate or vigorous workout types which calculates calories burned based solely on time of workout depending which type is selected. I'm not sure if most or all of this stuff can be fixed via software updates but I will be keeping an eye on it, hoping. The band has so much potential but the basic fitness operations of the band just aren't good at all.

Very good tracker for a great price

I bought this for under $100 and have been very happy with it. It replaced a Microsoft Band (version 1) which started to fall apart after several months of use and the screen scratched easily. The screen on the Fit2 is large and gorgeous and very scratch resistant, so for that alone I would recommend this fitness band. I use it linked with my Samsung Galaxy 6 Edge. The Samsung Health app is great and works smoothly with the Fit2. Another huge plus is the battery life, which lasts a few days. The charging base is proprietary to Samsung, which is annoying, but it works quickly to charge the Fit2. The main reason I don't give it a fifth star is because the Fit2 doesn't sync with the notifications with important apps like Gmail or the phone function.

My review isn't intended to provide a detailed highlight of pros and cons, features, or alternative product comparisons, rather to provide my personal opinion. If you're looking for a detailed review, I'd have to direct you to the professionals. I purchased the large black model, and I have to say I'm very impressed. It looks very sleek and the screen is mind blowing. If you're looking for an eye catching, simple-to-use hybrid between an expansive fitness band and smart watch, look no further. THIS is the perfect device to meet your needs/desires. I give it 20 stars out of 5. Yep, I just did that.

My wife and I both LOVE this fitness tracker. I've lost 105 lbs so far, tracking my exercise, sleep, steps, heart rate and more, while tracking food, weight and blood pressure on the accompanying S Health app. The seamless integration between this tracker and the app is very helpful in keeping all of my health data in one place.

I wanted a fitness tracker that had "smart" features and connected to my phone. There are several different clock faces and aps that you can download to track your fitness, golf game, and many more.

I was very on the fence about this band just do to my history with the fitbit in the past. I am proud to say I wear it 6 days of the week. It keeps my on track with my step counting, especially after hurting my foot and doing rehab on the muscle. I love the different faces and everything it offers.

    J-U-N-K....don't waste your money!

I left behind the FitBit Blaze for this device. The ergonomics are absolutely beautiful. Feels good on the wrist, screen is awesome, features are great...BUT...it's pure junk. I wore it for a day and could already tell it was inaccurate; step count was off, I climbed 14 floors that day and it only counted 2. This went on like this for about a month, low step counts, low floor counts. Then, one night I went to bed and woke up the next morning and much to my surprise I apparently climbed 78 floors and took 4,000 some odd steps in my sleep. The next night I did even better in my sleepwalking endeavors, I climbed 128 floors and did approximately 14,000 steps. The battery life isn't anywhere near what Samsung reports it to be, it's 2 days AT BEST. The app is horrendous (they have a LONG way to go to even get in the same ballpark with FitBit on this one). The fact that it's waterproof is really what attracted me to the GearFit2, and on this on it's true, had NO issues with the waterproofing, so kudos for getting that one right. But, it's not enough. I'm back to using the FitBit Blaze, and I would highly recommend you doing the same. Samsung has a lot of work to do to catch up. FitBit is leaps and bounds ahead on fitness trackers.

I previously had the Gear Fit and loved it. I decided to upgrade to the Gear Fit 2 and like it even more. I love the new curved design it allows it to fit nicely on your wrist. There are also a lot of other upgrade features that are offered that I am excited to try out.

    Great Interface, really bad tracker.

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I really love the interface for this device. The swipe and buttons work great, the screen is easy to read. The base modules are acceptable, and the ability to look at historical data is perfect. The notifications are great, I love that it ties in with pretty much every notify on the phone, and passes that through, letting you choose what to accept/block on a per-app basis. The ability to do auto response to some things is big too. The "automatic" tracking leaves a lot to be desired. The GPS is absolutely useless, there's nothing at all that lets you access or view any sort of tracking related to it. I'm not sure if it's used for back end calculations, or what, but there's nothing obvious the GPS is useful for. It's absolutely TERRIBLE at auto-detecting sleep. I've been using this for 3 months now, and it has NEVER accurately tracked my sleep. Stair tracking is sketchy. It will catch most of the time when I climb stairs in my office, but it will never catch stairs in a private residence. I can go up and down the stairs in my house all day long, and it'll never detect them. The step count is very low compared to every other tracker I've used. I walk a fair amount during the day, an average of between 5000-10000 steps, and the Fit2 rarely has me breaking 4000 steps. Overall, I love the interface, but am extremely disappointed in the functionality of the fitness aspects of the device.
