Still needs phone for music transfer

I was really hoping this was the one. Been waiting and going through every wearable for GPS, Bluetooth, HR,and holding a bit of music, but nobody has got it right yet. Either HR is way off (as in some reviews), but the killer for me is that you can't transfer music to it without a Samsung/Android phone. WTF! Could you possibly put that in the tech specs? Worthless to iPhone users.

I had such high hopes for this. I loved the style and all of the features. That is, I loved it until day 5 of owning this and it would not turn on (after having charged all night). I called customer service and they had no idea how to help me. It has now been returned to Best Buy and I'm searching for a new fitness tracker. Seriously bummed!

    Extremely poor battery life

I've had my Fit2 for 6 weeks now. I like the features on it but the battery is horrible. It started off holding a charge for about 5 days and as of today the battery life is down to 7 1/2 hours. Not worth the money or the aggravation of Samsung's Technocal Care.

Completely inaccurate in flights of stairs climbed. I wore this for about an hour around my house, it read that i climbed 10 flights of stairs (i don't have stairs). Factory reset did absolutely nothing, and i continued having this problem. Samsung customer care recommended i take it back to Best Buy. Best buy exchanged the Gear fit 2 for another one (also brand new in box) and after setting this one up i immediately had the SAME problem. Also, before even put the tracker on, i seemed to have burned over 1200 calories. I did the factory reset again, SAME problem. Talked to another Samsung rep, and the suggested I send it in so they can fix it. Fix something that is brand new. That i had the same problem with twice in one day with 2 different brand new trackers. No thanks. I will go buy a fitbit. Save your money, and get something else

Bad poor quality watch and service Will count the number of floors as you sleep. Don't call Samsung, no answer for it. Don't send to them either can't fix. Don't return to Best Buy either. You're stuck with a malfunctioning watch and poor customer service all around. Wife should have gave me a FITBIT or flushed the money down the drain. Opened box Christmas night, synced to my phone and wow climbed 4 floor as I sat on the sofa. Called Samsung 17Jan, explained issue, did a factory reset, still happened, told to sent in for an exchange. Well it's 20 Feb and afer 5 calls.. no exchange or repair...no watch...no refund....no support from Samsung guy at Best Buy

    Horrible Customer Support

Long time Samsung customer. Bought the Gear FIT 2 and honestly a very good product...when it works. Endless hours on the phone and online chatting. Sending it back for the second time to Samsung to be fixed. Their customer support is horrible. The worst company for support. I have worked with companies 100 times smaller, that were a 1000 times better. Once they send it back to me its is going right on EBAY so look for a good sale soon!!

    Poorly Made

I will never buy another Samsung product. I've been a loyal customer for years. We have tv's, tablets, phones, and smart devices made by Samsung. But they do not stand by their warranty. I've had a watch from them for less than a year (Samsung fit 2). The heart rate sensor piece literally fell off while I was wearing it. When we called they said it would be covered and for us to send it in. Upon arrival to their facility we were told that it was damaged and they wanted us to pay $70 before they would fix it. We called and spoke to management (very rude). They are sending it back unrepaired. I am disappointed. I would advise anyone considering a Samsung watch to look elsewhere. Fitbit is a better company by far.

    Don't buy this product!

I am an avid Samsung fan, from my refrigerator to my stove, my TV's to my cell phones--All Samsung. I purchased the GearFIt2 only 2 weeks ago. I noticed several times that the clasp would come unsnapped while wearing. Well, the last time it happened I didn't realize it as the watch fell off my wrist at some point during the day while I was out and about doing errands. The quality of this product is flimsy at best. I retraced where I was throughout the day, but surprisingly no one had turned it in to any of the places I visited. I would think that for the money ($200) Samsung is charging for this watch, it would be of better quality. I will no longer buy Samsung products.

Only truly compatible with Galaxy phones

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

    1. Missing essential features, most notably an internal vibrating alarm. 2. Some important apps and features only available if paired with Samsung phones. 3. Setup difficult on non-Samsung devices (I have an HTC One M8) 4. Poor customer support from Samsung. Agents not knowledgeable about this product, slow to respond. 5. Other than watchfaces, customization options very limited. This device had potential. I think it was a mistake to advertise the Gear Fit2 as compatible with non-Samsung mobile devices; although even if all advertised features worked smoothly I'd hesitate to keep it due to poor documentation and customer support. I'll be returning it.

    GPS Fails

The whole point of getting this was for GPS capability but it fails every few days. I have been using this since July 2016 and every 3 or 4 days the GPS will not come on. I have to reset the device (sometimes several times) to get the GPS to work again. I read through the Samsung support threads and found this is a common issue. Samsung does not see it as an issue so you will be out of luck with this one if you plan on using the GPS capability. I contacted Samsung Tech customer support and they said there was nothing they could do since it's not a problem that they can isolate. Interesting.

    Inaccurate step and calorie tracker

    Posted .

Great look great feel but first time use left a bad taste in my mouth. I used it for an hour long workout on the elliptical and it was tracking my heart rate at about 180. Once I was done and reviewed the calories it said I had only burned off 310 in an hours worth of work. Over the next two days I noticed that the step counter was nowhere near accurate saying I had walked 1700 steps in two hours when I had been sitting in a truck for 3/4 of that time. I will take it back for an exchange but I do not have high hopes

the calorie count is WAY off, it will count calories being burned even when it's not being worn, it seems to start the day with 300 calories being burned.. Really inaccurate..

    Disappointed

We previously had the Fitbit Charge HR. We went to the Gear Fit 2 since the band on the Fitbit kept separating. We read reviews and felt comfortable going forward buying at the sale price. Way too overpriced when not on sale. We are very disappointed so far. It seems like the steps aren't counted correctly, the floors are way out of whack and my sleep isn't tracked properly. I'm at the point where I'm tired of spending money for fitness trackers that are worth much less than they sell for.

    Terrible fitness tracker

The HR function is very poor and you really shouldn't use this as a fitness tracker. Stick with a chest strap or a Basis Peak if you want a accurate HR and calorie count. Fit2 has a lot a features, bells, whistles etc but none of them really work very well. Its kind of a poor smart watch as well as a poor fitness tracker in other words a waste of money.
