    Samsung's Superior Success!

The Short and Sweet Review: Pros - The slim design is attractive and will surely turn heads at the gym or outside on the trail. Without depending on your smartphone, you can listen to music phone free. Cut the cord and go with Bluetooth headphones (IconX) to get the full experience. Monitor your heart rate, gps location (runs), hike for elevation, sleep, and many more activities throughout your healthy lifestyle. I also enjoy that this is water resistant rated at IP68, which means you can shower with it. Cons - The battery is my biggest complaint. Although you get about 4 days out of it, we all know that batteries eventually (over time) lose their juice. I would like to see a minimum 7 days out of this with a nice solid battery to last for years. The Long Run Review: The Samsung Gear Fit2 is device in which it can track your health on multiple categories. Setup was a breeze. The easy to read screen walks you step by step to setting up the connection to your phone, Wi-Fi, and setting up the items that are most important to you in regards to monitoring your healthy living. The Guts: Do you like tracking your steps? Do you like to monitor your heart rate? How about keeping an eye on how many calories you burned throughout the day? These are just a few of the many activities you can monitor while wearing the Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit2. With Fit2's AMOLED screen, boasting 1.5" Touch Screen, it's easy on the eyes. It's extremely responsive 512MB of RAM and 4 GB of Internal Storage allows for your to easily navigate the menu options and throw together a quick work out mix to keep you and your head in the moment! The battery is OK, in this regard. I would like to see the battery last minimunt 7 days. Right now, It will go about 4 days before it needs a full recharge to keep up with my very active lifestyle. The Cool Stuff: Enough with the insides, how does this work and keep me focused on my health? The Gear Fit2 is exceptional when it comes to reading your HR, knowing when you're on a walk/run, or begin an intense work out session, registering each step you take, keeping track of caffeine and water intake is essential to monitoring a healthy lifestyle. The Gear Fit2 also provides notifications from your phone. I enjoy the fact you can customize it to the point where you can set which apps you would like to be notified by. So far the readouts have been quite accurate in regards to comparing form other exercise bands (Nike Fuelband and FitBit Charge 2). Feeling the competitive edge?: The Gear Fit2 allows you to "challenge" another Gear Fit2 counterpart and once you complete your activity, you can then compare the two from each other and see who overworked their bodies to the max. The Gear Fit2 is so much more than just your typical watch (boring), it can keep you on track for a better and healthier lifestyle. Get to it, Get Fit2!

I've been using the Samsung Gear Fit2 for a little more than 3 weeks, and so far I've been very impressed. I was using an Android Wear device for the last 2 years, and with no new updates planned I was ready for a replacement. Paired with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and the S Health app, the Gear Fit2 packs a lot of punch in a tiny package! The 1.5" sAMOLED screen is bright and beautiful, showing workout info, steps, calories burned and bpm. You can also add widgets. Battery life is a little more than 2 days, with all the sensors on. The Gear Fit2 pretty much never leaves my wrist, except to charge, so every other day I wake up, drop it on it's cool magnetic charger, and by the time I'm ready for work it's good for another couple of days. I mainly use the Fit2 for my Cycling and Hiking treks. I love all the information the Gear Fit2 provided after my hike or ride. Distance, a GPS map of where I went, the Weather, and Heart Rate. A lot of info from a little device. A few weeks ago the Fit2 received an update, which will automatically sense a fitness activity, like walking or biking. It will even auto pause when you take a break or stopped at a light. Smart! You can record your gym activities and set your reps for lunges, squats, crunches, etc. I love the onboard 4gb of memory to download my music and pairing with a bluetooth headset, allowed me to leave my phone back at the car. At work and on the go it's great that I can receive notifications without having to pull my phone out of my pocket. At night I like the Sleep Tracking and the notification in the morning of how well I've sleep. So far the Gear Fit2 is impressive and inspiring. Makes you want to get outside and get fit! What I like.... *GPS Map of my Cycling and Hiking Treks *Notifications- Texts, Gmail, Outlook *Alarm Reminders *Heart Rate Monitor *Onboard Music Storage *Sleep Tracking *Magnetic Charging Dock *Changing the watchface-there are a lot of cool watchfaces out there. Cons... Only thing I'm skeptical about is the wristband clasp. Though I noticed that are plenty of aftermarket bands out there.

    Loving the Gear Fit 2

I picked up the Gear Fit 2 on Saturday and I've been very happy with it. It does a good job at tracking my steps, heart rate, sleep, etc. My only minor complaint would be that the screen sometimes turns on when I'm trying to fall asleep because of the wake up gesture for the display. But even so, it's not a deal breaker. I love being able to get basic notifications on it as well (Incoming Phone Calls, Text Messages, Emails, Calendar Notifications). The Quick Responses are nice if you want to reply right from the Fit 2. You can edit and add your own custom messages but it also creates suggestions based on the context of the message. If you looking for a good balance between fitness tracker and smart watch the Gear Fit 2 is a great choice.

    Great Fitness Watch

This watch has a great display, with a choice of decent choice of displays that come with it as well as more you can download for it in addition to other functions that don't initially come with it. Is comfortable to wear, easy to set up and use with a Samsung Galaxy phone and the Fitness app that comes on it. You can pick and choose which alerts you receive from the phone on the watch. Sleep monitor seems to be pretty accurate. Has built in GPS which is why I bought it so I can track my bike rides without my phone, which is one of the main reasons I bought this over other lesser priced ones. Has built in stand alone music player which can be used with blue tooth headset. Information synchs with phone easily and more details are available in app on the phone. While I like the nice display, the down side to it is you get a max of 2 days battery or less, depending on how often you are using the functions of the watch. It comes with a nice base you just set the watch on to charge it, it plugs into the charger from your phone. I am not crazy about the type of band, not a traditional watch band, but hasn't given me any problems. They sell replacements if needed and can be user replaced. My other option was the Garmin with the GPS that tracked biking. I choose the Samsung only because it worked with the application already on my phone without downloading another app and the nice display. Also was under the assumption that you could pull up Google maps on it if you were lost but found out I can't. It only maps and shows your routes if you are biking, running or a mode of that nature. If I could have found more info on the Garmin I may have chosen it. The Samsung display and rep helped sway my decision as cost on both was comparable. Too early to speak for durability.

If you're a hardcore fitness buff, this is not for you. The Gear Fit 2 is designed for those that want to get a little more active and see their progress as they increase their level of activity. The number of exercises tracked is good, but far from comprehensive. If you want more accuracy, go with something like a Garmin device. The one thing that sets this apart from most other fitness trackers is the ability to store music on the device itself so you can leave your phone behind for a run, walk, etc. In a sense, this is as all-in-one of a device as you can get for right now, similar to the Gear S2 but with more fitness features. While you can respond to notifications such as text with canned responses or emojis, I wish you could reply with a some sort of small keyboard for full responses like you could with the Gear S2. But then again, the screen is fairly small, so I'm not sure how practical it would be in the long run. In my testing, the battery life is decent. It can last up to 4-5 days in standalone mode with no GPS use. If you use GPS for running, walking, or bicycling, you'll see use drop down to 2-3 days depending on how often you work out. Once you start using bluetooth connectivity to your phone for notifications, I have not seen it get past the 2 and a half day mark. In a high use scenario (GPS for workouts, Bluetooth), realistically you'll be recharging this thing by the end of the 2nd full day. For the price, this is a solid deal for all the features you get. Highly recommended for the average joe. Definitely not for you GloboGym types.

    great sequel to the GearFit1

Having enjoyed the Gear Fit 1 for a year and some change, I was looking forward to the next gen and I wasn't let down. Impressions: 1. Side by side, the GF2 definitely has a sleeker, smoother face, IMO, that blends in with the watch band. I read that the display is a rugged Gorilla Glass 3, which I'm hoping (and so far it has) held up just fine to the warehouse environment I work in and plenty of other opportunities I've had to smack the watch against numerous unforgiving obstacles. I still have a few beauty marks on my GF1 to attest to that, but, so far, the GF2 is still smooth and polished. 2. The GF2 watch band has that extra loop to take some slack out and keep the arms in place. I wore thru the original arm band in my GF1 after a little over a year (easy to replace, though), so let's see how well the GF2 arm band holds up. So far it seems to be better at resisting sweat and dirt buildup. 3. The display difference is crystal clear; GF2 has a 216x432 resolution vs 128x432 for GF1. I myself barely notice the smaller display (GF @1.5" vs [email protected]") cause I'm more impressed with the up-down scrolling display vs the squished together side-to-side display in GF1. Smaller print, yeah, but still better to read without having to scroll every 2-3 lines. 4. Charging: Yes, you still need a particular adapter to charge both watches, but the GF2 has a magnetic base and that's it. No more hunting for the GF1 adapter bit to plug into my USB cable. I actually lost my original GF1 adapter and had to order another one, but the GF2 cable looks easy enough to keep around. 5. The default display face is nice and minimal, but I like a little more info, like today's date, so I browsed the app store and found a great Star Trek: TNG LCARS face that shows time, date, battery life, heart rate, step counter and calories burned. Plenty more displays left to check out. 6. Started playing around with the onboard 4GB storage for music choices. Also interested in the Spotify app capability. I'm all for more options that let me leave the phone at home when I go for a walk, etc. 7. To me it seems like the GF2 has more options for handling Notifications (or maybe I just didn't dig that far into the GF1). Easier to read and clear text messages, calendar alerts, etc. Bottom Line: I'm glad I made the leap ahead with the Gear Fit line. Great device. Looking forward to uncovering more features and options. Highly recommend it if you're in the market for a good smartwatch.

Purchased this smart watch for my husband. We are not diehard workout people but wanted to have the ability to track some health stats. My husband was interested in tracking his steps, heart rate, sleep info, checking the time, receive notification of incoming text messages and phone calls, and earning rewards for meeting daily step goals. He has been wearing his watch for almost two weeks and everything seems to be going well, other than the watch stopped vibrating when he received text messages. He tried fixing this under settings but it doesn't seem to be working. He is working on finding a fix for this issue. Overall, he has enjoyed this smart watch and it is a great value for the money. Other than the text message notifications not working it has been great.

This watch is incredible accurate. The only time it would miss flights of stairs would be in when I didn't have it connected to my phone (I turn off bluetooth when I listen to music via bluetooth because it diminishes audio quality when the phone is connected to more than one device). It still tracks flights of stairs when not connected, but it doesn't seem to do it as accurately. Samsung really went above and beyond on its improvement over the original Gear Fit. It automatically tracks your sleep without having to turn on the sleep tracker like on the original Gear Fit. One of my favorite things about the Gear Fit 2 is how it can store music so you can go on a run, or workout with having your phone on you. Of course you'll need bluetooth headphones to take advantage of this feature. Lastly, my favorite thing about the Gear Fit 2 is its design. It's incredibly slim and lightweight. It looks great and you can barely notice it's on your wrist. Couldn't recommend this enough to anyone who likes to track their fitness on a daily basis.

So my Pebble was having issues and I decided to be an early adopter. Overall, I'm very impressed. First thing - disable watch always on and wifi, you'll go from a day of battery life to 4 days with ease. I'm not clear why it even need wifi unless you use the Spotify app. I do not, but the music player works great with Google Play and Poweramp. I like the screen, easy app, prompt UI and detail. Double tap to control music is a godsend when exercising, mowing, or on the bike. Notifications work great across apps, easy to read, and it's so light I forget it's there. I have a Samsung Note 4, so no issues with Android compatability. I love the default watch face, but miss the date on the home screen. Some 3rd party watch faces have it, as well as weather. These are much better than what Pebble offers, but I just haven't found a face that I like enough to use the functions. Some added apps and updates from Samsungs' watch face would go a long way for me and push this to 5 stars. My only other issues are the screen and connectivity. Screen - it needs an autodim and/or night time mode. Love the sleep tracking, but hate occasionally rolling over and a huge light glaring in my eyes. The BT range is very respectable, but for some reason it doesn't always reconnect when I come back in range and I have to do it manually. Usually it does, but I'm not able to figure out why this isn't more consistent. Again, my only comparison is Pebble, and this was NEVER an issue. That said, on the whole I expected to dislike this and I love it. It's light, the apps are ok, could be better, but the GPS, screen, controls, notifications and comfort are great. I like the auto-tracking of exercise as well. Hopefully some firmware or additional updates push this over the edge. Vertical display is clear, bright and works very well. I also like that it has a phone locator. This does not require wifi, but is very helpful if your preschooler hides your phone and you can't find it despite being in bluetooth range. If only it would work for my remote control as well. Heh.

I have had my Gear Fit 2 for a few months and it does just about everything I hoped! It works great for tracking bike rides with GPS, and it pairs very well with my Samsung phone. The heartbeat tracking works well too. I really like how it ties to notifications from my watch. I also like that it shows picture messages that I receive. My only grips with the Gear Fit 2 is that I wish it had more app support. This past weekend I used a Golf app which was really neat! It would continuously tell me the distance to the pin from wherever I was. It worked great! I wish there were a few more apps for it though, like one to control any music being played from my Android phone. Other than that, it's a great device! I haven't had too much of an issue with the band coming undone. I can't say it hasn't happened, but it's pretty rare, and how the strap is made, it doesn't fall off when it comes undone, but it has happened once or twice. I would definitely recommend this device!

The gear fit 2 has many great features,: heart rate, many different exercise options, water intake, ability to receive and reply to text messages, ability to see incoming email, ability to link up to music, many different watch faces, sleep record, easily links up to my note 7. Watch face turns on pretty easily when you twist your wrist. Battery life lasts about 2 days, depending on how much you use each feature, not too big of a deal but can be a nuisance.

Upon first impressions i was pretty surprised with this new little band. It is very lightweight and feels like it has a good strap. I really enjoy the fact that it does floor counting as my Gear s2 does not. It also has a neat feature in that it has built in GPS, although i haven't had a chance to test that out on a run yet or anything. There isn't as many apps available for it as there are for the S2 but, in regards to that it is designed to be more of a fitness band with some smart watch features in my mind. Overall i'm very happy with it and appreciate that i've gotten the opportunity to test it out through #theinsidersnet

I have had several fitness bands/watches/trackers over the past 3 years, including the Fitbit Charge HR, Jawbone UP2, and Samsung Gear S2. Yet I keep looking for the next better thing. With the Samsung Gear Fit2, I honestly believe I've found the best fitness tracker so far. I really appreciate the "Do not disturb" feature (swipe down from the home screen for that option). When sleeping, this is especially useful because the screen doesn't light up with movement unless you hit a button on the side. This in turn conserves battery. The only notification in Do Not Disturb is the alarm, and I use the alarm for both my morning wake-up alarm and reminders throughout the day - so much more convenient than noisy alarms! A gentle vibration is sufficient to bring me fully awake. Keeping my screen brightness on Level 1, I have consistently gotten between 50-58 hours of battery life between charges, and it takes just under 2 hours to fully charge from about 5% battery. I find it convenient to do this while I'm at work sitting at my desk, typing and not very active. Then it's ready to go again when I go for my afternoon walk during lunch. There are 11 total levels of brightness. I find that Level 1 brightness is sufficient except for outside in broad daylight. I will try Level 5 brightness and see how long the battery lasts on that and update my review. I have all my notifications activated and the GPS turned on (with vibrating for each one), and with this I have found the battery life to still be quite acceptable. Usage summary: So far, I've done stairs, hills, and a nice 2-hour hike while wearing the Gear Fit2. It's so light that I barely remember it's on my wrist. The screen is very responsive and a quick swipe to the left pulls up the next screen (which you can rearrange the order in which you'd like the various apps displayed). A swipe to the right will bring up your notifications. I have ALL my notifications turned on, so I get notified when I get an email, text, social media such as Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat, and pretty much every other app. The texts and emails you can read directly on your Gear. There are pre-written "canned" text responses you can send directly from your wrist as well, and you can add other canned texts in the Gear app on your phone. Also, it seems intuitive and there are some replies which differ depending on what your received text says. For example, my kid replied to my text saying "Yes" and I got the option to send "Good to know!" which is not one of my standard/pre-written replies. You can also send emoticons. I found that the stairs/floors tracking is a bit inaccurate on the Gear Fit2. At my 2-story house, I have a flight of stairs which is 15 steps total. I run up and down the stairs and the tracker doesn't register a single floor completed, though it's supposed to register 1 floor as 10 feet up. I am not sure why this is the case, but I've tested it repeatedly and after running up and down the flight of stairs 8 or so times, I get 1 floor completed. Alternately, I've walked up a slight incline for 2 blocks and it registers 1 floor. And another time I was driving and got 1 floor completed too! The steps seem to be calculated fairly accurately. While driving, there are a few steps added in, but not enough to make a huge difference, I believe. What impresses me a lot is the sleep tracker. The Fit2 registers exactly when I fall asleep and when wake up, and gives me a percentage of sleep quality (for example, 92% Efficiency is what I usually get when I wake up 1 or two times a night briefly and use the restroom and then fall right back asleep). I am amazed by how accurate it is about when I fall asleep. I feel like not only has my desire to be more active, get up and move, has increased, but I like that I am not so attached to my cell phone anymore because of the handy notifications that satisfy my need to see emails and texts etc. immediately. With kids at home and in school, this is convenient and helpful for me because I'm not constantly pulling out my cell phone to make sure I didn't miss texts while my phone is on silent. Peace of mind! Over all, I would definitely recommend the Samsung Gear Fit2 to anyone who wants to have a fitness tracker with a screen and all the info available at a glance. #InsidersGearFit2

If you want a calorie counting, stop watch, step tracking, gps and pulse reading smart watch, this is for you Did i mention is super light? It helps a lot while going to the gym, since i didnt even had to set it up a whole lot, the watch itself notifies me if i've achieved a new milestone (steps, walked, ran) its a great companion. Highly recommended. I got the large band just incase but if youre a guy, you will need the large band. I couldn't imagine wearing the small one. It will even save your spotify music and i picked it up for a third that it costs to get the fruity brand. Backgrounds custommizable

Excellent quality, features, very comfortable. Much more than a fitness tracker. Displays incoming calls, which I can accept/ignore or provide a text answer without touching my phone. Shows text messages including attached pics. Auto detects walks, biking, running, and general activity. Good sleep tracking, heart rate history, food, weight, sleep, step counter, stair counter. Works great with my phone to upload data into my Samsung health app. I used it with both an LG and Samsung phones. Samsung chat support is free and they don't even care if it's out of warranty. They will answer your questions and are very happy to help. I replaced my Jawbone UP3 with this and this smartwatch is in a whole different league. Also puts to shame the Fitbit products.

This is my second fitness band type product. I purchased this model for it had everything - including gps and music that other competitors typically do not have, or have at a much higher price. The good - does everything, is reliable, reasonable battery life, simple to operate and understand. The bad - I have been unable to find a second charging cradle for travel purposes, and while the unit syncs flawlessly with my Samsung S7 phone, Samsung doesn't support it with my less than 1 yr old Galaxy Tab S2 10.5" tablet. Today's fitness bands are trying to emulate the depth of statistics provided by the FIT products - and this one follows up short, for no Windows apps seems available at this time. Conclusion - simple and reliable to operate, short on support / data features beyond its function as a fitness band.

I would highly recommend the Samsung Gear Fit 2 Fitness Watch + heart rate tracker ! It's super easy to use you just plug it in download the app and you're all set to go it tracks your heart rate your calories burned and even tracked a workout! Also you can receive notifications from your cell phone and text message and what's even cool about the text messages that if you get a text like " good morning " it knows and gives you an option to reply with good morning. This is a super amazing watch / Fitness tracker!super happy with this!
