    Much Better than Expected

I bought these with mixed expectations after watch dozens of reviews. However now that I have had time to play with them, i am pleased to say that they have exceeded my expectations. First of all, set up is fast. Connecting to the phone, downloading music to the headphones and playing music is a fluid process. The audio quality is quite qood. In comparison to the headphones that come in box with the Samsung phones, the IconX's have about 80% the loudness, and 90 percent the bass. I think this is perfectly acceptable. On another note, these are extremely Light weight and comfortable, and fit well in the ears. The touch controls are accurate and easy to learn. Noise cancelling has worked well so far. And sound pass through is a neat feature when playing music at low volumes, it feels as though you have robotic hearing. When the music is off the sound pass through works extremely well, and act like a hearing aid. This is a nice feature to have when out running or biking. It lets you enjoy your music while having the Security of hearing your surroundings. The convenience of still having activity tracking and 4gb of music any where you go, even without your phone, is a praise worthy addition from Samsung. The battery life is just as samsung claims. On a good day i get about 2 hours of music on bt, and about 5 hours of music played frim the head phones. What is nice is the transition from phone to on board storage is quick, so optimizing the battery is easy. In addition the IconX's carrying case offers up to 4 extra charges, allowing you to use these throughout your day. Oh, and "ok google" works with these. I hope this helps some of you with your decision. I like them a lot.

After enjoying these for over a month, i have become to learn it strengths and weaknesses. Like everything else that is in a class of its own, the initial awe was that they are the perfect item for anything and everything for enjoying the music lover enjoys. Based on my usage the Pros and Cons are below. Let me make this clear before I begin, I LOVE these ear buds believe they are the perfect gift for anyone who loves music. Pros: The included silicon inserts allow them the be customized for any user, young and old. The included Wingtips goes a step further to make sure they are comfortable and secure in your ear. Once properly fitted, you forgot that they are inserted in your ears. One of the features I love the most is the Ambient Sound. If you are sitting at your desk, and the entire office gets loud, you have the ability to leave the Ambient sound off. When doing this, it is almost like having ear plugs inserted. Everyone gets filtered out, leaving you to complete your work without any disturbances. But if you need to be aware of someone talking and asking questions, but you still want to listen to music, then you can turn the Ambient sound on. This feature allow you to hear the surrounding noises as well as your music. That way when someone walks up to ask a question, they are not standing there behind you screaming your name. One other feature that I have enjoyed with them is the ability to enjoy music while doing yard-work. When you have a 2 cycle motor running such as a weed eater or leaf blower, this noise typically requires earplug or over the head ear muffs (if you want to incorporate a set of ear buds for music enjoyment.), but you still have to turn the volume up to hear over the noise. while using these the background noise has been blocked and the volume can be down at a reasonable level, thus saving your hearing. I cannot say what decibel level these filter out, nor can they be rated as such, but from my experience they work really well for this. The notifications come through from your phone, and can be customizable to allow only the notifications you want to hear to come through. Having to be a Gear S2 owner, I am able to turn off all the notifications, thus enjoying less interruptions. The case doubles as a battery charger, keeping them safe and secure, while re-charging them until they are used the next time. Cons: The Battery life is ok, could be much better. While they are kept in the case between uses, it seems they continuously consuming power and when you are ready for them after a couple of days, the battery is completely drained requiring you to charge them well in advance of needing them. Batteries are slow charging once completely drained, requiring hours of charging before being able to be used, this may be corrected in a future firmware update. Battery capacity is low, requiring them to be charged after 2 1/2 hours of continuous usage, although this does not fit into what they are designed for. They are typically designed for use during fitness activities and most of these do not last multiple hours. so my opinion on this is null and void, but should be noted. They do take some time to get used to the controls and how they should function, i had some trouble with the tap and double tap. No instant feedback on the interface, causing one to wonder they they actually tapped it or not, causing the second tap to be done. Overall, I would recomend them to anyone wanting a top of the line device and willing to wait for these issues to be corrected the future updates.

    Great ear buds for exercising!

These are awesome for exercising, not necessarily for using all the time. Two ways to use: Load MP3s (up to 2000 songs) directly onto buds, good for approx. 3 1/2 hours or carry phone and listen to Spotify/Pandora etc., good for approx. 1 1/2 hours. If you're using your phone to listen to music you are able to take/make phone calls. So these are mainly good for going to the gym or on a run. The case does contain a battery good for at least 2 charges (as small as these things are you just can't expect an all day battery life). By themselves they do track your exercising and heart rate (pretty accurate, I always compare with the treadmill I run on). They do come with different size fittings and are very comfortable once sized correctly. I run a lot/lift weights and have had no issues with them falling out. You're definitely paying a premium to get rid of the annoying wire behind your head, especially annoying when you start sweating while exercising and the wire sticks to your neck.

    Wire-free Earbuds

I was so excited to try wireless earbuds for the first time in my life and I wasn't disappointed! First of all, the Samsung Gear IconX Earbuds come in a compact, versatile case. The case serves as a storage unit and a charger. It is very convenient and works well to keep the earbuds protected when not in use. As a charger, the case is small and easy to use - definitely minimizes space. Secondly, the design of the earbuds is sleek and stylish. They fit perfectly into the ears with very little noticeability. It takes barely any effort to insert them properly. Also, they alert you when the insertion is complete with a little beep. Finally, the sound quality is phenomenal. As small as the earbuds are, the sound that emits from them is high quality. You get a full surround sound effect. In addition, there are options that allow you to chose to hear your outside surroundings along with your musical choices or not. My favorite features include that I can hear my notifications, take a phone call, and get updates on my fitness goals (how far I've traveled, etc). These earbuds are very easy to connect with Andriod phones. The only negative that I've experienced with these earbuds is that the charge is approximately 2 hrs. However, being that they are wireless, I expected as much. I would highly recommend these wireless earbuds

Great sound for something so small

I was very pleased with the quality of sound that these offer. The bass, volume, and clarity were all excellent. Once they went in my ears they also did not come out while running. The only downside to them is that the battery is life is not as good as promised. The specs read 2 hours of streaming and I am only able to get about 1 hour and 15 minutes on them. Other than the battery life these are awesome cordless ear buds.

The only flaw with these is the battery life. If you put music on the ear buds themselves then you get more battery life. Pretty good quality, very simple to operate, and easy to connect to your phone. Very good for a first try. I'll definitely get the 2nd gen if they improve batter life. I purchased these to eliminate the wire when working out. Definitely not disappointed in my decision.

    Best Earbuds Ever!

These ear buds are awesome! I mostly use them for music and phone but my wife uses them for her workout and she loves them. They're comfortable to wear and battery life is good, we get about 1 1/2 to 2hrs of use. Being able to load music on to the ear buds is one of the best features about them cause it allows me to use them without having them connected to my phone. The other great feature I love is the ambient sound feature, with ambient sound on, it allows me to use them at work and the reason i say I love this feature is because I can also use them as ear plugs by simply turning off the ambient sound and to an aircraft mechanic this is awesome cause it eliminates the annoying removal and installation of regular earplugs every 2 minutes. These ear buds are just awesome! They are so easy to use. The charging case is compact and comfortable to put in pocket and take anywhere with you, very convenient. I would definitely recommend these to friends and family. Samsung did a great job with these ear buds.
