While this SSD is a slightly older model it is plenty fast. It has a cache which a lot of the cheaper SSDs don't. Unless you are moving large files around all the time I would prefer a 2.5" SATA SSD like this over an NVME SSD.

Second life to an old Mac

Worked flawlessly, Samsung Magician reports the drive is in good health as well. Been running solidly since the purchase.

Its working faster than my new laptop with an intel i7 processor. I’ll have to upgrade the hard drive on that one too.
