Good drive to have for photos and documents. Like the styling of it too.

Using this external drive (Samsung T7) to transfer files & do backups for six of my legacy machines (macOS & Win98-XP), plus a newer M2.
Having formatted the drive to FAT32 - plus having the cables Type C-to-C & C-to-A - I'm able to connect this drive successfully to each computer.
At 1TB storage, I'm able put all of my files (photoshop, 3D model, game, doc) from all of my machines onto one drive. Super-Joy! But take note, I'm storing files no larger than FAT32's 4GB filesize limit (sorry 6GB tar file).
So I'm absolutely thrilled with accessing my files from one drive. And the speed boost pleasantly surprised me better than expected - SSD flash memory transfers data in seconds rather than minutes, as with the mechanical (rotating plates of) HDD.
I couldn't be happier. Thanks Geek Squad for this Refurbish!

I've been using the Samsung ssd for several months now, and it has proven to be an excellent choice for my storage needs. Here are a few reasons why I'm thoroughly impressed:
Performance: The read and write speeds are fantastic, making file transfers quick and efficient. Whether I'm backing up large video files or transferring photos, the performance is consistently reliable.
Build Quality: The hard drive has a solid, durable design that feels premium. It's compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry around in my bag without worrying about damage.
Compatibility: It works seamlessly with both my Mac and Windows devices. The plug-and-play functionality ensures that I can easily use it across different systems without any hassle.
Capacity: With its ample storage capacity, I no longer have to worry about running out of space. It comfortably holds all my important files, photos, and videos with room to spare.
Value for Money: Given its performance and reliability, the Samsung hard drive offers excellent value for money. It's a worthwhile investment for anyone needing dependable external storage.
Overall, I highly recommend the Samsung hard drive to anyone in need of a fast, reliable, and well-built storage solution. It has exceeded my expectations and has become an essential part of my tech setup.

So we actually bought a couple 4TB T7's for the office (I work in video production) and after using them I grabbed this 1TB version on sale to keep in my bag for shuffling around whatever media I was working on - whether it was video or stills.
There's really nothing bad to say about it so far - its rugged, has a nice grippy case so you're less likely to drop it. It ships with both USB A and USB C cables so you can connect it to any computer - I frequently use it to shuttle files between my PC and my iPad - and sometimes I just plug it into the ipad and work directly off the drive.
Absolutely would buy another if needed.
(Side note - I bought mine new, but the link on this review page says certified refurbished - I can't speak to refurb model because, as I said, I've only bought the drive new)

I had to do some pretty tricky trouble shooting for the drive to show up on my PC’s directory. I had to edit things in Disk Managmwnt settings. I would not recommend this for most people. Other than that, sure, it’s a good hard drive.

Worked great for about 2 weeks. Then became completely unaddressable via the USB connection. Once disassembled the drive was unaddressable via via the sata bus as well, Chassis works with a separate SSD core, so the problem was the drive not the chassis.

It is rugged SSD in the market. I bought it for Tesla sentry more than it works well for the Tesla sentry mode. It works well under hot and cold conditions. Also can withstand some vibration while driving. It is fast enough for Tesla.
I have a 2 TB version for personal use.It works well and pretty fast for a day to use.

Go to the Samsung netsite and get the software to set up their ssd hard drives. Otherwise, you will have headaches just getting this sdd hd recognized by you OS !!! Bad cables can be a problem - doubt seriosly if the BB Geek Squeek checks out each one.
