Customers are impressed with the Harman Kardon Soundbar System's sound quality, describing it as 'great' and loving it. The easy setup process and the quality of the bass are also highly praised. While some find the size a bit large, most agree that the overall quality makes up for it.

By far the best sound bar for the money period. We have it in our bedroom about 15 feet away and it sounds like we are at the movies or at a sporting game. Can’t find one thing we don’t like about it. The way the sound bounces off the ceiling, the walls it’s by far a great sound and the base is incredible.

I listened to many soundbars over a number of weeks and read all the reviews, both professional and on web sites, of all of the sound bars. This was a higher price point than what I was looking for, but listening in-store, this was the winner if you want Atmos and DTS=X. The other system that was closest was the Sony HTZ9F, which it cheaper, but lack the number of speakers (12) in this system.
If you are looking for true surround/atmos sound, you need to purchase a system with the rear speakers (90QR). I wanted the closest to a true movie theater experience but did not want the rear speakers since this was going in my bedroom. I am sure room size and ceiling height will impact how much of the surround sound effect you will notice.
All-in-all the sound is great. The adaptive sound mode give you crisp clear vocals. The subwoofer will give you heavy base (try listening to Stranger Things). You can adjust the treble and bass of the soundbar. You may also independently adjust the volume of the sub woofer with a dedicated button on the remote. in addition, you can adjust the volume of the center, front, side and rear speakers. The other sound adjustments are between adaptive sound, surround sound, standard and gaming. There is a visual display on the right corner that stays on for about 20 seconds.
I believe the volume goes up to 100. I have not needed it higher the 18.m It is easy to adjust it to your sweet spot
Setup was easy with HDMI ARC and the Smarthngs app. You can control the soundbar with the app. The subwoofer connected wirelessly upon power up of the soundbar and subwoofer. I have not tried it with any other type of connection. Also, I have a Samsung TV, so I do not know if this made things easier. I was also able to set my Xfinity remote to turn the soundbar off and on and control the volume.
I agree with others who have commented that it would help if there was some type of help determining the most effective settings for your room. I have been playing with all of the sound adjustments and moving the subwoofer around the room.
I had no issues connecting to the Samsung app for setup and connecting to Alexa. I have also connected my phone via bluetooth without issue. I have only listened to music once and still have to play with the settings a bit. This is somewhat of an issue as your settings may vary depending on what you are watching or listening. There is no way to preserve the settings.
I have watched TV movies, DVDs, sports, general TV programing and Netflix. I have found the sound to be superb for all.
I have a 55" TV and this fits perfectly. I am not sure it would work with anything much smaller.

The Harman Kardon makes you feel like you are in the theater. I have a large open living room and the tech in this that uses walls to bounce sounds works perfect. Super easy to setup and I matched it with a Samasung Q80. I did have some issues with the soundbar getting sound with bluetooth. It would go great for like an hour or less then have small cut offs of sound which is why I am putting 4 stars instead of 5. I then bought a AudioQuest Ocean 4' 4k ultra HD HDMI cable that was not cheap, but I thought it should fix the issue. Once I directly connected it to the tv it sounds perfect and 1000% better than bluetooth anyways. Connecting HDMI did take me a minute to figure out, but Youtubed it and was good to go. For me I had to make sure both ends were connected to the ARC HDMI slot. Then you have to go to your TVS Source > Connection Guide > Sound > HDMI ARC. Make sure your background is not on the HDMI slot slot selected every time you turn your tv on or it will revert back to TV sound. Instead one of the free background channels on the home screen and you will be good to go. Hope the above is helpful to someone instead of getting frustrated on why the bluetooth is cutting in and out for a QLED tv. It is truly a great soundbar, but with the Samsung 65 Q80 I needed to directly connect or it would not work for me with bluetooth.

After my $200 Sony Soundbar broke I started shopping for something in a higher price range that was better quality. I wasn’t expecting to pay this much but when I heard the Q80 in the store I loved it. I have it in a small/medium living room that is open to a kitchen, sitting on the mantle below my tv and the sound is fantastic. It’s speakers do a good job of surrounding you with what ever move you are watching and the bass feels like you are at the theater. I was amazed at the quality of the immersive sound coming from just the Soundbar. Now, for those who want true surround sound you might want to spend the extra money and get the Q90,Or go cheaper to get something with rear speakers but I got to say, in my living room it sounds better then I could imagine. I tested the Sonos and Bose but still prefer this Soundbar. On another note, I have it to where my Alexa can turn it on and connect via Bluetooth and play music via voice command that goes through your echo device not the Soundbar. It was a Best Buy. Pun intended.

I went in to purchase a tv for my bedroom, heard this sound system and couldn’t resist it. I am so pleased with it. It honestly sounds like a theater. Even the ads on tv have a theater sound.I had the BB guys set it up when they deliver but it would be easy for anyone to set it up. It is amazing.

I may even love this soundbar more than my TV. Sounds so good. Dolby Atmos is nice. Sure it may not be true surround sound but the additional speakers on the side and top help make it come pretty close. Perfect for those living rooms where rear speakers just won't work with a certain setup.

This is my first sound bar. It’s ok. It’s bulky but I knew that when I bought it. Bought this with our 65Q70 so it the center piece of our home entertainment system. Sound is good. Need to use the SmartThings app to easly make adjustments. That app gets a meh.

I got this soundbar to replace an old Vizio one that stopped working. This Samsung soundbar will shake the room with bass and sounds very clear. I chose this one for the doby atmos ability. I came back a week later and purchased the rear add on speakers for more immersion.

If you don't have room for (or don't want) a high end home theater system, this is a pretty good option.
Much better than the $300 / $400 systems.
Good voice enhancement, good music & movie fidelity.
Interfaces easily with an ARC equipped smart TV.

Great system for the price but was blessed to find an open box 90R and returned this for that system.
I paid $3600 for the Bose Lifestyle system for my Great Room and I wish I had know about these systems first- would have saved over half!

I have purchased over half a dozen speaker sets (systems) over the with exceptional presence, fullness, and clarity. The subwoofer is monstrous in its depth of projection and adds greatly to the voluminous spacial integrity.

Returned the HW-Q60T and got this unit for $1K which is $700.00 less than the HW-Q90R. Not gonna pay $700.00 extra for the rear surround with upfiring speakers that come with the Q90R. The SWA-8500S rear surround speakers works perfectly fine with this unit.
Placed in a 22’ x 18’ with 8’ ceiling family room, bass is thunderous and its DOLBY Atmos feature works! The HW-Q60T is better in decoding the DTS-X format by a small margin, though. I’m not an audiophile but the OCD in me can tell the difference LOL!
Having the ability to control the volume of subwoofer, treble, bass, center speakers, left and right speakers, upfiring speakers and rear speakers independently is a great feature as well.

If you are looking to beef up your sound, this is the one to go with. The bass with rattle your chest and combined with the rear speakers (sold separately), you get a complete surround sound set up.

I am immensely impressed by the sound quality from this. The quality is top notch and so is the listening experience. The only hiccup I had was this thing is really big. Like twice the size of regular soundbars.

Very very surprised at the quality of sound that comes out of this soundbar. Prior to this purchase we owned the Sony ST5000 soundbar. This Samsung for $500 less I believe produces a crisper movie experience. Very happy.

Great sounding system. Easy set-up. Looks good. Fills the room with awesome beats. Well worth the price. Samsung did a good Job for pairing with Harman Kardon.
