Great soundbar!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this soundbar to replace the ht-st5000 Sony soundbar. That Sony had compatibility issues with my brand new Samsung Q9fn. The Samsung 850,however, worked flawlessly. Amazing soundbar. Easy set up. Dolby Atmos sounds great. I would highly recommend if you have a Samsung TV.

Sounds great!

I ran the HDMI from the Xbox to the sound bar input one port, then I ran a separate hdmi from the sound bar hdmi out to the TV. Turn off the Cec or whatever it’s called on your tv so that it defaults to the HDMI 1 input every time. The Xbox doesn’t need the cec feature to be on when connected from Xbox to sound bar to tv. Xbox will control both devices even with cec off. I also connected rear Samsung speakers SWA-90005 and they work great. Make sure the movie, game, or video supports Dolby atmos or you won’t hear audio through the rear.

Terrible ATMOS support - otherwise decent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It's interesting that the Best Buy salesperson didn't warn me when I bought this soundbar along with a brand new 2018 Samsung QLED Q7F tv. In fact, he deliberatly talked me into this one, even though I had originally set out to get the cheaper model. His sales pitch was basically " but it's got ATMOS! ". Well, many frustrating hours of research and trial and error later, I have learned that the soundbar simply doesn't support ATMOS over ARC. So basically, you can't use it by itself with the TV like 90% of consumers would logically want to do. Instead, you have to buy a SEPARATE UHD dic player, which needs to be connected externally to the soundbar itself. That's basically the only way to achieve ATMOS. It makes no sense that Samsung would do this, knowing that most consumers no longer use disc player and simply stream Netflix or Hulu etc from their smart TVs. On top of this, I refuse to believe that the sales guy was unaware of this since they deal with this equipment all day long and judging by reviews and forum posts (of which there are multitudes), I'm confident that they are well aware of this issue. In conclusion, this is a good soundbar but don't expect ATMOS to work in any way shape or form unless you have the proper disc player to go along with it. Would give it 4 stars if it weren't for the egregious issues I pointed out.

Pulling my hair out!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Paid BIG $$$$$$ for this Soundbar, not worth $100!!!!! got it hooked up to my QN65Q8FNBF TV and my UBD-M8500 UHD DVD player. Well with all Samsung equipment you would think I would have no issues, WRONG!!!!!!!!!!! Everything works okay until I play CD, Blue Ray UHD, basic, it doesn't matter. The sound it totally out of sync, its driving me mad and will shortly be returning everything to Best Buy and going back to square one, very annoying, yes yes yes, tried the sync adjust on Tv and player, no joy, it goes up from zero, I need to go the other way. Called Samsung, forget it, cant get through to them, Best Buy? they are coming Dec 30th. I deeply regret this purchase as contacting Samsung is like communicating with the dead, busy busy . So don't buy this piece of junk! Call me upset, disillusioned and depressed.

It stopped working after one night

No sound or picture. It sounded great but seems buggy.. noticed when changing inputs it showed a pink screen. It going back tomorrow.
