Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-A450 soundbar and for sharing your experience with drowned out or decreased dialogue.
To improve your experience, try using Dynamic Range Control (DRC). DRC lets you apply dynamic range control to Dolby Digital tracks. With DRC turned on, loud sounds will be reduced.
1) Turn off your Soundbar.
2) While the Soundbar is off, press and hold the Sound Mode button on the remote control for 6 seconds until you see “DRC ON” shown on the display.
3) To turn off DRC, repeat steps 1 and 2 above.
You can also try optimizing audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, BASS BOOST, GAME, or ADAPTIVE.

I was expecting something louder for the money but I was wrong, the volume doesn't get much louder than the tv itself also the sound keeps going out. It sometimes connects and then disconnects over and over for some reason.

You can try optimizing audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, BASS BOOST, GAME, or ADAPTIVE.
You can also press the Sound Control button on the remote (looks like a gear) to adjust TREBLE and BASS.
Press and hold the Sound Control button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each of seven frequency bands.
Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer to -12 or between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

Sound bar

Loud siren sound for a few weeks and would have to turn off and back on for it to quit. And now nothing, no power at all. Ridiculous that it only lasted a year and i have a cheap vizio bar in another room that is 8+ years and going strong.

I can't seem to get a nice clear sound from it. Turned the base all the way down and still very dull and flat sound. I thought it was maybe just me, but the TV speakers are nice and clear as well as other speakers throughout my home. So it's not my ears. :) The sound bar is in an unobstructed area as well.

Not happy.

When I followed the instructions, nothing happen like the directions said it would. Before the reboot, the soundbar would not turn on or turn off. I couldn’t tell you which. Now the sound is just like we didn’t have a soundbar. Not happy with the sound.

Thank you for purchasing the HW-A450 soundbar and for your review. Your feedback regarding replacing batteries in the remote is important to us and will be shared with the product team.
On the back of the remote, one end will have an arrow. Push the rear cover open in the direction of the arrow at the bottom of the remote control. Grab the remote control with two hands, then, push it forward with your thumbs.
