I like many saw a good deal on black Friday and bought this for just over $200. Full price is between $350 and 400. This was not worth it for the following, especially for gaming. 1. No HDR passthrough 2. No 4k passthrough 3. No color bit beyond 8 bit will pass through. 4. Uses outdated ARC instead of eARC. 5. Even with audio delay set to 0 on the soundbar and the Samsung tv 55ru8000 there is still audio lag for gaming if the Xbox is set to push Dolby digital. If set to stereo the lag is eliminated. 6. At the time of purchase the soundbar was advertised as being Dolby Atmos on best buys website and the app, it is NOT Dolby Atmos and BBY has since changed the title of the product to reflect this. It only supports Dolby Digital and regular DTS via optical and HDMI. This is a oversight by best buy and a unit that is overcharged by Samsung. Sometimes the TV's arc will force PCM stereo instead of DOLBY Digital. 7. Soundbar ARC passes through 1440p at 60hz or 1080p at 120hz If you want to play movies or broadcast or streaming, then this might be for you. There's no lag... It does sound good... BUT if you're a gamer with a Xbox series X or a PS5 this will be a bad investment and you will regret it if you wanna use DOLBY Digital/Atmos or DTS:X. If I had paid $350+ for this, I'd be even more upset. This soundbar is okay in some regards, but for gamers I can't stress how much trouble this will cause you. Xbox (Stereo) --> HDMI in to TV --> ARC out -->no lag Xbox (Dolby digital) --> HDMI in to tv --> ARC out 50/80ms lag. Xbox (Dolby) --> HDMI in to A650 --> out to tv ARC audio lag of 50-80ms. My tv is capable of 1440p/120hz or 4k/60hz at 10bit with HDR10, VRR,ALLM. I'm not gonna sacrifice quality for Stereo audio from a soundbar that belongs back in 2014. Unit will be getting returned. There are soundbars out there that have low latency when it comes to using eARC as they are made to process higher bandwidth signals. However this means they cost more. When buying a soundbar besides all the bells and whistles, look for 4k passthrough, 10bit passthrough, HDR10 passthrough, eARC, 4:4:4 passthrough. Anything less means you will have to lower your next gen consoles settings to previous gen just to get Dolby to work ....in stereo. Also HDMI cables that are HDMI 2.1 (with a HDMI 2.1 Display) are required for best quality picture and sound. Anything less and you'll have to work with 2.0b limitations.
