The only negative is that if you want to add the 2 additional rear speakers for a better surround sound experience, you will need to pay another $100-150 each (in which case you’re basically better off getting the HW-Q750c on sale). Besides that, if you are trying to find a great sound bar with subwoofer, these will not disappoint. If you are an audiophile, however, then I recommend just saving your money and getting the Samsung Q900C (or one of the variants with rear speakers) if you want the absolute best.

The reason I gave 3 stars... The soundbar is pretty good. Addition of the Sub Woof is awesome when you have channels/movies that have bass sound signal. It does what I expected it to do. My only concern is that a few random times while watching a program, we lost sound (yes, during important dialogs too). After evaluating the bar closer, the sound bar is doing some kind of diagnostic or reset. I am not sure what is causing this, but it has occurred several times. When I find out, I will attempt to update my review.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with the HW-B650 Soundbar. Your feedback is very important to us and will be shared among our internal teams.
There are a few things you can do to troubleshoot your Soundbar before contacting Samsung Customer Support. First, update your soundbar, by downloading the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-B650 under Standard. Download the update and install it via a USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how-to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well.
If you are still experiencing this issue after doing the software update, then try doing a soft reset. This is where you will unplug the soundbar and subwoofer for roughly 30 seconds from the power outlet. After this time, plug everything back in again and see if this resolved your issue.
Lastly, if you need to, do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - (Volume UP/DOWN) buttons on the body at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.

I have never been too impressed with soundbars overall since I have been spoiled with my 5.1.2 setup in the living room but these really are perfect for small side rooms. Purchased for one teen's room and our bedroom, works great with basic TV. Volume sounds nice and full, discrete channels work and the bass is not muffled, comes out nice and strong. Always recommend a full system but if you have a smaller room or apartment, this is a great purchase.
