It was definitely not in excellent condition, though. "Excellent" is Best Buy's "like new" condition in the original packaging with all parts included. The sound bar and subwoofer were just handed to my boyfriend when he picked it up. No packaging at all. Scratches on them and all parts missing except for the bar, subwoofer, and power cords. It is supposed to come with mounting hardware, a remote, an optical cable, and a few other items I wasn't concerned about (per the Samsung website). This would all be fine if I had ordered it in "fair" condition, but I did not. The store did offer me the difference in price between the Fair and excellent Condition product, so I tried to work with that. But adding a remote and optical cable ended up costing me more than the soundbar costs brand new. So I took it back and looked at other sound bars. I am so glad I did. Even the floor model of this sounded bad. I ended up spending a few hundred extra dollars that I did not plan on spending and I am ultimately much happier. Luckily the return policy is awesome and the store associates were happy to help with the return and also help me find the right sound bar for me. So 0 stars for the product, 0 stars for the experience of purchasing this open box item, but 5 stars for return process and helpfulness of the employees.

Entry level 3.1 sound bar

Don't Know What's Wrong

On some TV channels the volume has to be turned way up, in some cases to 70. Even when you can hear these channels, the sound still seems muffled and distorted. The problem has to be with this unit because the B-550 I had before this B-650 did not have these problems. I'll have to take this issue to the Geeks and see if they know what;s wrong.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with the HW-B650 Soundbar. I am sorry to see that your initial time with the Soundbar has not been ideal.
There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your Soundbar.
Please verify that you are running the latest firmware on your TV. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
Next, do a software update on your Soundbar. You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-B650 under Standard.
Download the update and install it via USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how-to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well.
If your Soundbar is still sounding muffled then try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
Lastly, with the Soundbar on do a hard reset. Press the + & - (Volume UP/DOWN) buttons on the body at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.

I had high hopes with all the good reviews.

The problem is that every other audio setting it gives like a vibrating feedback at the end of every single spoken sentence. The problem only exists when people speak, but it drives me insane. Most of the time I just turn the TV speaker back on if what I'm watching isn't in Dolby.
