Started off good!

Decided to give this one a try but it stopped working all of a sudden. Not sure if I need an updated HDMI cord but sort of annoyed that less than a year and product isn’t working.

There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your Soundbar.
First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
Next, update the firmware on your soundbar. You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-B650 Standard.
Download the update and install it via USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how-to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well.
If you are still experiencing issues, do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - (Volume UP/DOWN) buttons on the body at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.

Disappointed

I have a Vizio 2.1 that blows this away. Who ever gives this a rating over 2-3 is clueless on what a sub should sound like.

By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound.
• Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
Push the WOOFER button up or down to adjust the level of the woofer (bass) to -12 or between -6 to +6. To set the woofer (bass) volume level to 0 (Default), press the button.
Using the sound mode BASS BOOST will also give you an increased amount of bass for when you are enjoying your favorite shows. Press the SOUND MODE button, (it is the second setting) to find BASS BOOST.
Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.)

Average Sound Bar for basic listening

I had to return it because there were missing components. I probably would not have kept it anyway as it doesn't sound as good as my current Logitech four way gaming system

You can adjust the audio performance to your liking by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then select the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, BASS BOOST, GAME, ADAPTIVE, or DTS VIRTUAL:X.
You can also press the Sound Control button on the remote (looks like a gear) to adjust TREBLE and BASS. Press and hold the Sound Control button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each of the seven frequency bands. (Set sound mode to standard)

Your HW-B650 Soundbar features a powerful bass with a 6.5” wireless subwoofer & Adaptive Sound which optimizes the sound based on the content.
There are a few ways you can improve your overall audio experience.

Great while it lasted

Please verify that you are running the latest firmware on your TV. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

Frustrated

We set it up and it worked about five days and then it reverted back to TV speakers. I came into the store and got written instructions on how to pair the tv, sound bar and box together. But it doesn’t work for long. I need to have someone come to the house to see if there’s something wrong in the set-up or the sound bar, I was told it would cost $100.00 to have someone come out to the house which is four miles from the store. So for now we spent $300.00 and we are back we started.

I expected more

I am sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with the overall volume of the Samsung HW-B650 soundbar. If you don't have a surround system, you will probably want to select PCM audio on your TV. You'll get much louder volume that way, and potentially better sound quality.
If your Digital Output Audio Format isn't set to PCM, for instance if you have a Dolby option selected, then you will likely notice decreased maximum volume. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 3.1.2 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.
