    This is an average soundbar. I am still trying to find the best setting to help bring speech forward and clearer for understanding without needing to increase the volume.

      By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

      Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.

      Additionally, using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the subwoofer’s volume between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

    My husband got this for me as a graduation gift. At first I didn’t like it because I didn’t know how to use it lol. But know I LOVE it!! My music My Movies sound so amazing

    This sound bar is very good when it works, but geek squad has had to come out 2 times to make it work with my Sony Bravia LED TV. I may need to return and exchange it for a Sony sound bar.

    It’s not loud at all has bass but not loud and it trips when u put a different hdmi cord in it and says it’s not available for use . Definitely won’t buy again

      There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your Soundbar.

      First, you will want to download the latest software for your Soundbar. You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-B650 under Standard.

      Download the update and install it via a USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how-to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well.

      Alternatively, you can download SmartThings on your iOS or Android device. This will allow you to update your Soundbar automatically or manually right from your phone or tablet.

      Please verify that you are running the latest firmware on your TV. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

      Next, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.

      If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.

    It's a good sound bar, not the best but it works well for the money. I wished the display leds were easier to see and not partially hidden my the mesh cover. Does Samsung actually try using the products they manufacture?

    I wish I knew how this item works. The Total Tech Guy that came and installed took all of the paperwork with him and never showed me how to use it. Awful Experience with a Total Tech representative. I still don't know how it functions and it has been over 3 months.

    Disappointed with this sound bar. I knew I should have bought another brand. Terrible low end. I have a Vizio 2.1 that blows this away. Who ever gives this a rating over 2-3 is clueless on what a sub should sound like.

      • Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

      Push the WOOFER button up or down to adjust the level of the woofer (bass) to -12 or between -6 to +6. To set the woofer (bass) volume level to 0 (Default), press the button.

      Using the sound mode BASS BOOST will also give you an increased amount of bass for when you are enjoying your favorite shows. Press the SOUND MODE button, (it is the second setting) to find BASS BOOST.

      Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons.     No louder than my tv. I got a sound bar bc I have to turn the volume on my tv up to watch Netflix or Hulu. It's no louder than using my TV speakers.

    When the sound bar works it sounds great. It keeps going in and out. To watch a 2hr movie, we MUST unplug and plug in the soundbar at least 9 or 10 times during the movie for the sound to work. Wasted money unfortunately. Buy something better.

      I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the sound occasionally dropping from your soundbar. You may first want to check the cable connection of the soundbar to the TV or external device to ensure it is secure, and properly connected to the correct port.

      In addition to checking the connections of the soundbar, please make sure your soundbar is using the latest firmware Version. Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements.

      You may also want to initialize your soundbar by pressing the - and + (volume) buttons on the top of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. The light indicator on the front of the soundbar will blink 4 times and the soundbar will be reset. Please know, this will reset all settings on the soundbar back to default; any sound adjustments will need to be performed again.

      Should you continue to experience audio dropouts, and are connected wirelessly, please use the included cable to connect the soundbar to the TV. Using a wired connection instead of wireless often eliminates the issue entirely and improves the user experience.
