We appreciate you taking a few moments to review the Samsung HW-B650 Soundbar.
By design, the purpose of the subwoofer is to reproduces low frequency sounds and not musical tones. It adds rich tones and deepens sound effects, like the rumbles of an explosion or the depth in bass guitars and drums.
There are three adjustments that can be made for bass and subwoofer:
1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down
2) Adjust the bass control by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
3) Press the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select BASS BOOST mode. This will provide you with a larger emphasis on bass sound.
For precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize the sound for your room acoustics.

Started off good!

Decided to give this one a try but it stopped working all of a sudden. Not sure if I need an updated HDMI cord but sort of annoyed that less than a year and product isn’t working.

There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your Soundbar.
First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
Next, update the firmware on your soundbar. You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-B650 Standard.
Download the update and install it via USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how-to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well.
If you are still experiencing issues, do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - (Volume UP/DOWN) buttons on the body at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.

Would recommend for a small room, but not for a living room that you want to actually hear the sound in.

Hard to control. Makes it nearly worthless

It is very hard to control since you can't see the settings on the TV and must use a tiny screen on the bar with nonsensical abbreviations. Can only control volume with tv remote Can't really change any settings or even set it well initially. I wish I had returned it but now I'm stuck with it

Frustrated

We set it up and it worked about five days and then it reverted back to TV speakers. I came into the store and got written instructions on how to pair the tv, sound bar and box together. But it doesn’t work for long. I need to have someone come to the house to see if there’s something wrong in the set-up or the sound bar, I was told it would cost $100.00 to have someone come out to the house which is four miles from the store. So for now we spent $300.00 and we are back we started.

May be good in a different room

Don’t

Tried new hdmi, optical cable and on another tv. The buzzing sticks. It’s intermittent but consistent enough to ruin a show/movie/game. Do not waste your money.
