You can optimize your audio performance to your liking by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing SURROUND SOUND, BASS BOOST, GAME, ADAPTIVE, DTS VIRTUAL:X, STANDARD.
By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.
Additionally, using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the subwoofer’s volume between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.
With the optional SWA-9200S Wireless Rear Speaker Kit connected you can adjust the volume by using the provided Soundbar remote. Press CH LEVEL and select REAR LEVEL, then use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.

Bad sound bars buyers beware

Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these sound bar at BestBuy both sound bar in less than a year sound started skipping took them back to BestBuy they sent them in to have them fixed got them back started all over again second or third time I sent them in they gave me new sound bars now they’re doing the same thing I called Samsung they want do anything about it don’t buy these waste of money.BestBuy was very helpful but Samsung was not one star is too much

It will be staticky. Turn it off and back on and it will be fine. Sound at 100% is not very loud. The speaker built into the TV is practically better than this streaming bar. Waste of money.

If available, we recommend using the HDMI connection to your TV.
Connecting your soundbar to a TV through HDMI will provide the best audio and user experience, often eliminating any connection or delay issues you may be experiencing. There are 2 ways to connect your soundbar with HDMI: you can connect a device to your soundbar (like a Blu-ray player) and then connect the soundbar to the TV, or you can use HDMI ARC. The first method will give you the best possible sound from external devices you regularly use. ARC is the way to go if you want great sound from streaming apps on your TV and a soundbar.
If connected via Bluetooth to the TV and the soundbar is dropping out intermittently there are a few things to check before performing any troubleshooting:
1) The maximum wireless signal transmission distance is about 33 ft.
2) If there is a device that uses the same wireless frequency near the Soundbar, interference may cause some sound interruption.
4) Check all the sources on the soundbar. If the audio is dropping while watching TV it could be an issue with the broadcast.
5) Also, please be sure you have the latest firmware update. You can update your firmware by using a USB device. You can find the update on the product page of your HW-B650 on the Samsung website.

Not good Blue Tooth

Often times the speakers change to "TV" speakers and want BT instead.Default stays on "TV" but use it in BT mode

If a previously paired Bluetooth device tries to pair with the Soundbar when the Bluetooth Power On
function is on and the Soundbar is turned off, the Soundbar turns on automatically.
1. Press and hold the SOUND MODE button for more than 5 seconds on the remote while the Soundbar is turned on.
2. “ON-BLUETOOTH POWER” appears on the Soundbar’s display.
This will allow the Soundbar to power on automatically when you start pairing your device.

I am sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with the overall volume of the Samsung HW-B650 soundbar. If you don't have a surround system, you will probably want to select PCM audio on your TV. You'll get much louder volume that way, and potentially better sound quality.
If your Digital Output Audio Format isn't set to PCM, for instance if you have a Dolby option selected, then you will likely notice decreased maximum volume. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 3.1.2 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.

Sound was too “tinny”

It was hard to listen to, so I returned it and then tried and returned a Sony, and ended up with the JBL SB550 which was cheaper and had much better sound quality.
