Thank you for sharing your review of Samsung’s HW-B650 Soundbar. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. Your feedback is very important to us as we continuously strive for best-in-class product and service.
Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. When an update is available, you can update the Soundbar by connecting the USB drive that contains the update firmware to the SERVICE port of the Soundbar.
1.Go to the Samsung Electronics website (www.samsung.com) → click on the “Support” option in the upper right corner.
2.Click on “Manuals & Software” from the pop-up list > TVs & Home Theater > Home Theater > Select your model
2. Download the firmware file (USB type).
3. Unzip the file to create a folder with the file name.
4. Store the created folder in a USB and then connect it to the Soundbar.
5. A sequence of “UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON” will appear on the display 3 times. This will take around 6 minutes.
- During update, do not turn it off or remove the USB.
- If “UPDATE” does not appear on the display window, remove the power cord from the Soundbar and then reconnect it.
- When the latest Version is installed, no update is performed.
- Depending on the USB type, update may not be supported.
6. After the 3 cycles are complete, the Soundbar will restart and last source used will appear on the display for about 20 seconds and then it will go off (“UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON”) 3 times “D.IN” > off
First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.
If we can help with anything else, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (Ask for Soundbars), 8 AM – 12 AM EST, 7 days a week. Live Chat with an agent as well as manuals, software, and warranty info can be found at the ‘Support’ link on our Samsung website.

We appreciate you taking a few moments to review the Samsung HW-B650 Soundbar.
Please know that this model can be connected to your TV via HDMI.
Here is the step-by-step guide for your reference:
1) With the Soundbar and TV turned on, connect the HDMI cable (not supplied).
2) “TV ARC” appears in the display window of the Soundbar main unit and the Soundbar plays TV Sound.
a. If TV sound is inaudible, press the (Source) button on the remote control or on the right side of the Soundbar to switch to “D.IN” mode. The screen displays “D.IN” and “TV ARC” in sequence, and the TV sound is played.
b. If “TV ARC” does not appear in the display window of the Soundbar main unit, confirm that the cable is connected to the correct port.
c. Use the volume buttons on the TV’s remote control to change the volume on the Soundbar.
If the TV provides an ARC port, connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI IN (ARC) port. We recommend you use a coreless HDMI cable if possible. If you use a cored HDMI cable, use one whose diameter is less than 0.55 inches (14 mm). This function is not available if the HDMI cable does not support ARC.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with the HW-B650 Soundbar. Your feedback is critical to us and will be shared with internal team.
To quickly pair your soundbar using Bluetooth to your TV, press the BT button on the soundbar remote. Within a few seconds, you will see BT READY show on the LED display of your soundbar. This is your soundbar finding the TV when it was paired previously. From there the soundbar will automatically pair with the TV.
You are able to press the SOUND CONTROL button on the soundbar remote to adjust the AUDIO SYNC between 0 - 300 milliseconds to correct any lip sync issues. This is not available within Bluetooth, so you will need to make sure that you use either a Digital Optical cable or HDMI. We do recommend HDMI as this will offer the best audio and user experience available with this soundbar.
I hope these tips help you enjoy your new product.

Flaky Bluetooth
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decent sound quality, however the Samsung television that I connected this soundbar to keep losing the signal on Bluetooth, and almost every time that I turn on the TV, I have to reconnect to the Bluetooth. It automatically seems to default to TV Speaker on the sound settings most times that I turn the TV on, or when I use the buttons on the TV remote to go to Netflix, Amazon or Samsung TV. I tried to find a solution online, and even thought it might need an update, but haven't found those directions as of yet. The fact that both the TV and the Soundbar are Samsung is the strange thing. I would have thought that would be the best combination, but it seems I was wrong.
