Posted .Hello hardluck13,
Thank you for sharing your experiences with the HW-B650 Soundbar. I’m sorry for the difficulties with your soundbar setup. We understand your frustrations and are here to help.
If you are using a Bluetooth connection from your soundbar to the TV this can be interrupted by other wireless devices that are too close to your soundbar. It can also be effected by metal objects such as furniture that the soundbar may be on or near.
We recommend using a HDMI cable for the best audio and user experience connected to the TV ARC port of your TV. There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your issues if you are using a HDMI cable.
First off try doing a hard reset. Turn your soundbar ON, press and hold + & - (Volume UP/DOWN) buttons on your unit itself for roughly five seconds. You will see "INIT OK" scroll across the LED display of your soundbar.
If you are still experiencing issues after moving your Wi-Fi router and the hard reset, follow these instructions to do a software update.
1.Go to Samsung's website and then click on the “Support” option in the upper right corner.
2.Click on “Manuals & Software” from the pop-up list > TVs & Home Theater > Home Theater > Select your model.
2. Download the firmware file (USB type).
3. Unzip the file to create a folder with the file name.
4. Store the created folder in a USB and then connect it to the Soundbar.
I hope these tips help you enjoy your new product.

Very disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1st of all, we thought we were buying a Sony but didn't realize until after 2 months of listening to it at home that the sales guy actually grabbed the wrong sound bar and sold us this Samsung. The sub woofer has very little sound unless you turn the volume way up and then you are constantly turning the volume up and down because it's either too quiet or too loud. Too late now to return it, would not recommend buying unless you want to keep the remote in your hand at all times. Very disappointed in this product and in the fact that we were sold the wrong sound bar.

Sound does not match video

Posted .Hi 2cats,
Thank you for taking the time to review the Samsung HW-B650 Soundbar. Here are some tips to help troubleshoot the Audio Delay issues you are experiencing.
If the video on the TV and audio from the Soundbar are not synchronized, select SYNC in SOUND CONTROL (looks like a gear), and then set the audio delay between 0~300 milliseconds by using the Up/Down buttons.
If available, we recommend using the HDMI connection to your TV.
Connecting your soundbar to a TV through HDMI will provide the best audio and user experience, often eliminating any connection or delay issues you may be experiencing. There are 2 ways to connect your soundbar with HDMI: you can connect a device to your soundbar (like a Blu-ray player) and then connect the soundbar to the TV, or you can use HDMI ARC. The first method will give you the best possible sound from external devices you regularly use. ARC is the way to go if you want great sound from streaming apps on your TV and a soundbar.
If connected via Bluetooth to the TV and the soundbar is dropping out intermittently there are a few things to check before performing any troubleshooting:
1) The maximum wireless signal transmission distance is about 33 ft.
2) If there is a device that uses the same wireless frequency near the Soundbar, interference may cause some sound interruption.
4) Check all the sources on the soundbar. If the audio is dropping while watching TV it could be an issue with the broadcast.
5) Also, please be sure you have the latest firmware update. You can update your firmware by using a USB device. You can find the update on the product page of your xxx on the Samsung website.

Posted .Hello AliceP,
Thank you for sharing your experiences with the HW-B650 Soundbar. I am sorry to see that you are not fully happy with your purchase.
Please make sure your soundbar is using the latest firmware version. Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. You can update your firmware by using a USB device.
You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-B650 under Standard.
Download the update and install via USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well.
You may also want to initialize your soundbar by pressing the - and + (volume) buttons on the side of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. The light indicator on the front of the soundbar will blink 4 times and the soundbar will be reset. Please know, this will reset all settings on the soundbar back to default; any sound adjustments will need to be performed again.
Should you continue to experience audio dropouts, and are connected wirelessly, please use the included cable to connect the soundbar to the TV. Using a wired connection instead of wireless often eliminates the issue entirely and improves the user experience.
I hope these tips help you enjoy your new product.

Chronic sub disconnection issues
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great setup when it’s actually working, unfortunately the sub constantly stops working and I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it working again. The sub is was originally put in a spot that was somewhat hidden so it was hard to get to, now it’s just out in the open because I have to constantly fix it. So unbelievably frustrating, if I had known this before I would have never purchased this.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-B650 and for sharing the issues you are experiencing with the connection of your subwoofer. Your feedback is important to us and will be shared with our product teams.
As for the random disconnection between Soundbar and subwoofer, placement of the devices is often an important factor. Please try to bring the units closer together and move large items that are in between the line of sight of each other.
If the audio from the wireless subwoofer is dropping out intermittently there are a few things to check before performing any troubleshooting:
1) The maximum wireless signal transmission distance is about 33 ft.
2) If there is a wall between the sound bar and the subwoofer it may cause interference or not work at all depending on the material in the wall.
3) If there is a device that uses the same wireless frequency (2.4 GHz) near the Soundbar, interference may cause some sound interruption.
4) Check all the sources on the soundbar. If the audio is dropping while watching TV it could be an issue with the broadcast.
Please also make sure your soundbar is updated to the latest firmware version featuring the latest connection improvements. Should you continue to experience issues with the sound occasionally dropping, you may want to try reconnecting the sub manually; this will reset the connection.
I hope these tips help, should you need additional assistance with this, or have additional questions, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (Ask for Soundbars), 8 AM – 12 AM EST, 7 days a week. Live Chat with an agent as well as manuals, software, and warranty info can be found at the ‘support’ link on our Samsung website.

Posted .Hi DuaneE,
We appreciate your feedback on the Samsung B650 Soundbar and Subwoofer. Please know the subwoofer is responsible for low-frequency sounds, like the rumbles of an explosion in an action movie or the bass guitar and drum in your favorite music. It adds rich bass tones and deepens the sound quality you hear, but since the subwoofer only plays low tones, it will be silent when low-frequency sounds are not in use. If you would like louder (or softer) bass from your subwoofer, you can adjust the level by rocking the WOOFER button on the soundbar remote and then adjusting the level from -6 to +6. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button in.
I hope this helps. For further assistance with settings, features, or functions, please contact Samsung Customer Support. You can call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

If the video on the TV and audio from the soundbar are not synchronized, press the SOUND CONTROL button on the soundbar remote, until you see AUDIO SYNC on the display. You can then set the audio delay between 0~300 milliseconds by using the Up/Down buttons.
Additionally, please make sure your soundbar is using the latest firmware Version. You can update the firmware Version of your soundbar by using a USB device. If available, you may also want to update the firmware Version of your TV which may feature audio delay improvements.
If you continue to experience audio delay, and are connected wirelessly, please use the included digital optical audio cable, or an HDMI cable purchased separately, to connect the soundbar to the TV. Using a wired connection instead of wireless often eliminates the audio delay entirely and improves the user experience.

Posted .Hello,
I am sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with the overall volume of the HW-B650. If you don't have the SWA-9200S connected, you will probably want to select PCM audio on your TV. You'll get much louder volume that way, and potentially better sound quality.
If your Digital Output Audio Format isn't set to PCM, for instance if you have a Dolby option selected, then you will likely notice decreased maximum volume. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 3.1.2 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.
On a Samsung TV this can be found at Home > Settings > Sound > Expert Settings. (It can also be found in the Quick Settings.)
I hope this helps. For further assistance with settings, features, or functions, please contact Samsung Customer Support.
