Thank you for sharing your experiences with the HW-B650 Soundbar. Please know that we are here to help with your soundbar.
Please be aware that the subwoofer will need to be paired with the soundbar itself. To manually pair your subwoofer to your soundbar follow these instructions.
1. Press and hold ID SET on the rear of the subwoofer for at least 5 seconds.
• The red indicator on the rear of the subwoofer turns off and the blue indicator blinks.
2. Press and hold the Up button on the remote control for at least 5 seconds.
• The ID SET message appears on the display of the Soundbar for a moment, and then it disappears.
• The Soundbar will automatically power on when ID SET is complete.
3. Check if the LINK LED is solid blue (connection complete).
If you need the full manual for anything else regarding settings or step by step instructions on how to pair the subwoofer including diagrams, please refer to Samsung's website.
If you are unable to locate the User Manual for your soundbar on Samsung’s website, please follow these steps:
1) Visit the product page of the HW-B650 Soundbar on Samsung’s website
2) Click “Support” below the soundbar name - this will take you to the bottom of the web page.
3) You will then see 2 options in grey boxes: User Manual and Warranty.
4) Click “Download” under User Manual & agree to the terms – the full User Manual will then begin downloading!

Thank you for your thoughts regarding the HW-B650 Soundbar. I am sorry that the soundbar has failed to meet your expectations.
You can optimize your audio performance to your liking by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then select the desired sound effect by choosing SURROUND SOUND, BASS BOOST, GAME, ADAPTIVE, DTS VIRTUAL:X, STANDARD.
When you press the SOUND CONTROL button (which looks like a gear), you can set the audio function. The desired settings can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons.
AUDIO SYNC - NIGHT MODE ON/OFF - VOICE ENHANCE ON/OFF
To control the treble and bass levels, press the TONE CONTROL button, and you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.
Lastly, when you use the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the subwoofer’s volume between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

I’m sorry to hear that your initial out-of-box experience fell short of your expectations.
Depending on how you have your soundbar connected to your TV, we do recommend using HDMI as this will offer the best audio and user experience. Additionally, please update the firmware of your soundbar, as this will bring the latest improvements available to your unit.
You can download the software update directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-B650 under Standard Series.

Major bang for your buck

I tried a Sony combo (for more $) in my bedroom and it is awful. Buying a second Samsung set now. So worth it

We have the roku sound system which has a soundbar two surround speakers and a sub which works great but does have aome connection issues. But when everything is working pretty decent system. But that is also why we started looking was the connection issues. We have tried the Vizio V-Series sound bar. Sound quality was very hit or miss. But mostly a miss. Then we tried the JBL 2.1 deep bass MK2 system. Sound overall was good. Bass just was just very overpowering. Which for out small room was hard to listen to for any extend amount of time. So we went ahead and got this one. First off the dialogue is crisp and easy to hear. Has plenty of bass overall as well. Not overwhelming at all very well balanced sound all around. If you like a very good system you cant beat this one. Hands down the beat one we have owned

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good soundbar for the price and a huge step up from using your TV's built in speakers, even high end one's like the samsung s89c I have. The only limitations I've noticed were that the sound felt a bit too one directional at times and lacking in 3d effect (but this also depends on the specific content), and the other drawback was that there seemed to be noticeably more latency compared to using TV speakers. I've turned off as many post processing settings as I could and managed to reduce latency to a very acceptable amount. However, once I turn on settings like intelligent mode, especially in addition to adaptive mode and dts virtual, the latency again becomes noticeable to me, mainly in the context of lip sync. I imagine most lay people may not notice any latency though, I'm just very sensitive to it. For that reason, I kind of feel forced to stick to the bare bones settings which may not sound quite as good.

The clear voice mode helps hear dialog without having to crank up the volume. The sun adds just enough bass to liven up a movie and night mode keeps you from “ thumping” others in the house trying to sleep.
