Samsung soundbar

This went in my daughters room replacing an old sony soundbar. It has good sound for both music and movies.

Good but game and possibility of reliability issue

It sounded like an electrical problem (pop). I decided to give it a second try. The second unit integrated well with my Samsung QLED TV. Easy setup. The sound is great for movies, F1 races, sports and even music. I have had only one problem. In game mode, when my grandson plays war games on our PlayStation, the soundbar cuts out on explosions and other sudden loud noises. I played YouTube demos of explosions and had no issues. Given I’m old and don’t play war games, I’m going to keep it and hope that the issue is some soft/hardware problem for which Samsung can issue a fix.

Thank you for sharing the issues you are experiencing with your Samsung HW-Q600B Soundbar. Connecting your soundbar to a TV through HDMI will provide the best audio and user experience, often eliminating any connection or delay issues you may be experiencing.
You may also want to initialize your soundbar by pressing the - and + (volume) buttons on the side of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset. Please know, that this will reset all settings on the soundbar back to default; any sound adjustments will need to be performed again.
Should you continue to experience audio dropouts, please contact Customer Service and we will be happy to assist with troubleshooting your soundbar!

Wont Sync With HDMI-ARC....ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like most negative reviewers here, the biggest downfall of this faulty product is that it hardly ever syncs to your TV with HDMI-ARC. It took me a good 2 hours to get it working with my Samsung TV. But even then, maybe once a week it fails to sync and you get no sound at all, unless you completely unplug the HDMI and power cable. Its super frustrating. If i would have know this issue was this bad (as many have already reviewed), I would have passed on this purchase. This product isn't even worth $159 in my opinion.

If you have not already, please try a new HDMI cable. Sometimes the cables will not work correctly, and using a new one is the easiest fix. Also, please also verify that you are running the latest firmware. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

Sound blew out on first day.

A little backstory, i have the A450 (crap, clips out often) in the guest bedroom, the q900t (amazing) in the master bedroom and bought this new q600b for the spare bedroom. I mounted the unit and was very happy with the cound i was getting when all of a sudden it got uncharacteristically distorted and loud. Think old tv's with static sound. I am hoping this is just a faulty unit as the sound is awesome for a small room when it does work, so i will exchange it once.

Thank you for purchasing the HW-Q600B Soundbar. I’m sorry to hear that your initial out-of-box experience fell short of your expectations.
You can manually optimize your audio experience by pressing the SOUND MODE button to select the desired pre-equalized sound setting. The choices are SURROUND SOUND – GAME – ADAPTIVE SOUND – DTS VIRTUAL:X – STANDARD.
To control the volume of the treble or bass press the TONE CONTROL button, and then adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons on your soundbar remote.
Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.)
Press the CH LEVEL button so you can adjust the volume of the CENTER CHANNEL using the UP/DOWN from -6 to +6.

Horrible experience, shame on you Samsung

Tried connecting ARC, tried optical cable, tried bluetooth, all have the same issue. Did a factory reset of both the speaker and my TV and still the problem persists. Looked everywhere on the internet for a solution, no dice. Read on forums about how terrible Samsung support has been with problems like this. All they do is give you a lengthy and complicated way to update the firmware. Who in their right mind would spend all that time and energy troubleshooting a brand new product? Absurd. The really messed up part is that I only bought this sound bar because it was recommended to me by the best buy associated as part of a bundle deal when I bought the TV. I find it disgusting that Best Buy is actively pushing a product on customers that has such an obvious and easily detectable design flaw. I will NEVER buy another Samsung product again. Absolutely shameful that they haven't fixed this issue and are still actively pushing this product on unsuspecting customers who will no doubt have to go through the same thing I did.
