I didn't want or need to spend a lot of money, just wanted to enhance my listening pleasure. This was easy to hook up and seems to be working fine. I have not had long, nor have I had the time to "fine tune". I would recommend to a friend!

A great improvement over just TV sound

I am a little disappointed in that I was led to believe that I would not need captions for many of the shows. While I don't need the captions near as often as I did before the soundbar, some of the voice sound is still difficult to understand.

I knocked it a star because for some reason when I first got it I had to plug it in and unplug it about 5 times. The sound kept cutting out. Can’t explain why but havnt had an issue since.

Doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles of the newer models but does exactly what I want it to do. Love that it has HDMI pass though for my older TV and ability to add satellite speakers.

Father bought this sound bar on sale to go with his new 65" Samsung TV and it would not power on. He did a wire test to make sure all the cables were good, not the wall outlet, all troubleshooting tips, etc. It was just delivered to the house and must've been a defective model because it simply wasn't powering on. So we exchanged for a new one at Best Buy - no issues with the exchange. They even tested the new one in the store to make sure it powered on - it did. Drove the hour back home, connected & powered up the new sound bar before mounting it just to make sure no more issues with this new one. And while this one does power on, we're getting no sound and the TV is unable to detect the soundbar device for sound output. My husband's still on the phone with Samsung customer service trying to figure out the issue with my father's soundbar. (Husband is a tech guy, so worried we may have gotten another dud.) Sound is only coming through the TV, not the soundbar. HDMI-eARC Mode in TV's sound output settings is grayed out so we can't adjust that on or off. It would be great if we get this resolved but thinking it really is a crapshoot whether you get one that works out of the box or not. Customer service was great though but thinking he'll have return this one as well and go with a new model.

Thank you for your review of Samsung’s HW-Q600C soundbar. I’m sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience with no sound coming from your soundbar, but we greatly appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention.
Here are some tips to try and resolve this issue.
On your Samsung TV Change the TV’s audio output to PCM or Dolby Digital. Go to Home → Settings → Sound → Expert Settings → Digital Output Audio Format.
In addition to checking the connections of the soundbar, please make sure your soundbar is using the latest firmware version. Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements and may resolve connection or software issues. When the Soundbar is connected to the Internet, Auto Update allows software to update automatically even when the Soundbar is turned off. You can also update by using the SmartThings app or a USB device.
You may also want to initialize your soundbar by pressing the - and + (volume) buttons on the side of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT” appears on the display and the soundbar will be reset. Please know, this will reset all settings on the soundbar back to default; any sound adjustments will need to be performed again.
