Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the HW-Q950A soundbar's exceptional sound quality, easy setup, and immersive Dolby Atmos experience. The bass and surround sound are particularly impressive, and the rear speakers enhance the overall audio experience. While some users find the price to be high, many believe it is a worthwhile investment. The top display and Alexa integration could be improved, and the remote control needs some enhancements.

Great sound in general - I've been going back to rewatch old favorites like Das Boot and Master and Commander and really enjoying them. Atmos-encoded programs are very good - I just wish there were more of them. Only drawback is that the cats like to sit on the cloth covered soundbar, but a lint roller takes care of the cat fur issues. I saw some reviews that said there wasn't enough bass, but I don't agree - the sound is balanced and there is plenty of low end where I sit.

As someone who enjoys good sound and doesn't have a ton of space, something like this is an awesome balance. I loved the ease of setup and not having to run tons of cables across the floor or the ceiling. It's wife-approved for that and me-approved for the quality of sound. This thing competes with a dedicated A/V system at this price point and has great support for Dolby Atmos. I look forward to watching many movies with it.

    Better than Bose or Sonos

This system is incredible. We own both the Bose SoundTouch 300 system (which the Samsung replaced) and a Sonos system and there is no comparison. The Samsung blows them both away. If you want a true cinematic experience this is the system for you. Set up was incredibly easy, took me less than 10 minutes. One word of caution. If you are buying this for Dolby Atmos makes sure your TV supports it by having an EARC HDMI port.

    Amazing Soundbar!!

Amazing!!! I had a $45,000+ full on 7.1 cinema Surround System with a 12” Sunfire Signature Subwoofer. I mentioned the Sunfire Sub because that is the ONLY thing that this very different and very minimal system lacks from that massive built in system I had in my last house. Outside of the earth shattering Sub, this Soundbar system is unreal how it can somehow shame a top of the line Marantz Receiver with 7 channels filled with B&W speakers. Of course there are differences but for 1) the money, 2) the very few items this system has, 3) installation time is not even comparable(30 minutes versus 2 full days while house was being built), and 4) the overall sound quality, THIS IS LITERALLY THE ONLY WAY TO GO. I never was a full believer in the Soundbar system until now. Sure I give up the earth shattering lows(that Sunfire Sub did shatter 3 windows) but this sub with this Soundbar gives you plenty and if you never had the luxury of having a Sunfire Signature Subwoofer, then you will think this is the best you could get. Please trust me, for the money, you get SO MUCH with this, that there is NO POSSIBLE WAY you can be disappointed. Sure you could be disappointed if you compare it to a $100,000+ system But You are NOT spending $100,000, this is UNDER $2,000 and will compare to a $50,000 system without the space and installation requirements. Do yourself a favor and do like I did and took a chance, you will be so happy that you did. Thank you for reading

After 2 weeks, i realized you have to live with this system for a while to learn about it and what settings you need to set to enjoy everything this thing can do. Its a great system. but not perfect. for 1500 plus dollars it should be better. the best source for this system is physical media. blu-rays, 4K discs. with that, you will get a great almost perfect experience. streaming audio is great but you have to punch up the settings. Gaming is great on this system. call of duty sounds amazing. the subwoofer needs to be better but when you are cranking it up you will feel it. other systems have louder subs. but louder isnt better you feel the bass here when its time for it. i thought about returning this system after the first few days but wanted to live with it and mess with the settings enough to find my best experience. but for the price this system should be better. its great but not nearly enough for almost 2k with taxes.

This works seemingly with my new Samsung neo 8k TV and the q-symphony. Plus the sound is rich and the bass can shake things very well. I'm still working out the kinks by trying to get dolby atmos to work well but even without it, it sounds awesome in 5.1. I can't wait to get this sorted out and bask in its audio glory. Still super excited just don't have the time yet.

I love this soundbar. It was an easy setup and go. I used the Smart Things app to add the soundbar to the Wifi. Just a small warning, the rear speakers are bigger than they look, and the sub is also. The rear speakers look like a median-sized speaker, so make sure you have the room and a device to support the weight. I just had to set mine on selves because my cheap brackets would not support the weight. The sub was big but not much bigger than my previous system. I especially love to have the two HDMI ins. I connected my Bluray player and Roku directly to the soundbar and got the best audio. The video still came through to my tv in HDR 10, which is all my TV supports. I love this soundbar, and for the money, it really shows in the quality, unlike the Bose I bought at first. I used the auto IQ to set the best sound, but I still had to adjust some settings for the best performance. I would highly recommend this soundbar. Did I mention the Atmos is awesome?

First off the bass is so clean and i mean like movie theater clean i just went to the movies today and was thinking my sub sound just as clean. Very loud i stay in a complex now and i don't go above 17 and thats not even close to where it can go. The soundbar is also clean and you can hear dialog very well even with the bass loud. Coming from jbl 5 1 which I still have i recognized the Jbl sub is more stronger. it will eat up dialog until you turn it up loud because you have no actual control over the sound bar just the sub low high and medium opposite of the samsung which i have controller over the sub, surround sound, and many more. Overall i think you should try especially if its on sale. Having dolby Atmos is very cool too.

So this is my first sound bar, and it was between the HW-Q950A, The Sonos Arc, and the Sony HTST5000. The 2 satellite speakers on this take it to a whole new level. They're front firing, but also up firing and side firing. They give you a level of immersion that just blew me away the first time I used them. Hearing the full panel of 11 channels from left to right.....amazing No joke, I was playing Xbox Series X, and a sound came out of one of the side speakers, and I looked over because I thought it was my pet doing something on that side. The bass also punches pretty hard with this set up, rattling the floor and some shelves. The system syncs seemlessly with my (slightly older) Samsung TV (KS8000), but also pairs nicely with the Smart-things app on the phone for wireless control. Overall, VERY impressed and no complaints!!

This is a great sound bar! The sound quality is very good. Subwoofer and rear speakers are wireless, except for the power cords. Wall mount is included for the sound bar. HDMI cable is included. Qsymphony sound is really good. Watching movies in Atmos sounds like you’re in a movie theater.

First of all I will say that I purchased this on Black Friday for a great price since it includes all components for full surround sound. Set up was easy to include downloading the Samsung app which is highly recommended. It sounds great with tv and especially blu ray and 4K movies with ATMOS sound and great rear speakers. It also has Alexa integrated. The main issue is when using my Xbox One and watching blu rays the sound will randomly cut out with no rhyme or reason. Then I have to power everything completely off for a hard restart. This is a huge inconvenience that Samsung and Xbox need to figure out. Besides that it sounds excellent and is a way better value all around than all the components of the Sonos Arc.

Excellent out of box. Set up was easy. Sounds awesome bass is deep. When you set up in the smart things app. If you turn on bass boost your Rear speakers turn off. Other than that it's great. No need for bass boost. Highly recommend.

This Samsung Soundbar, with the right Samsung TV, that can use the TV’s own speakers in addition to those of the Sound bar is outstanding. Upgraded from a 7.1.2 system to this Soundbar. The clarity at a low level is perfect, you hear every syllable spoken. At higher levels, during a movie. The sound is outstanding. Envelopes the room and everyone in it. The bass comes alive then, at lower levels it comes in a little light but that’s easy enough to adjust Which brings me to one small annoying anomaly. If you turn on “bass enhancement” the rear speakers turn of. Didn’t find that in the documentation, stumbled on it in a Samsung forum. Voice enhancement, not a problem. Turn off bass enhancement and the rear speakers turn on. It’s not broken, it’s meant to work that way, it’s not broken.
