Customers are satisfied with the HW-Q950A soundbar's exceptional sound quality, easy setup, and immersive Dolby Atmos experience. The bass and surround sound are particularly impressive, and the rear speakers enhance the overall audio experience. While some users find the price to be high, many believe it is a worthwhile investment. The top display and Alexa integration could be improved, and the remote control needs some enhancements.

The best Dolby Atmos soundbar I've owned so far. I've tried the top DA (Dolby Atmos) soundbars from JBL, Polk Audio, LG and Nakamichi. The Nakamichi Shockwafe 9.2.4 DA sound bar was hands the down best soundbar I had listened to before this cake topper. This 11.1.4 system has everything you could want in a DA soundbar system. The highs are crystal clear, the mids convincingly complement the the entire system unlike anything I've ever heard. The Q-symphony option uses compatible Samsung TV speakers to augment the center channel audio effect. I could definitely tell the difference when this feature was enabled!! The subwoofer easily holds its own with deep, tight and punchy bass. Music and movies sound so alive in my 2300sqft home which has 10ft ceilings. So far connectivity has been amazing. No speaker wires are needed, all the speakers need a power source and you are good to go!! It's going to be hard to hear something this good at this price point. Samsung hit a grandslam with this system!!

Hi BurnerBlue2,
Thank you for purchasing our top-of-the-line Samsung 11.1.4ch HW-Q950A Soundbar with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X bringing you 3D true surround sound. Your soundbar system is engineered with 22 speakers immersing you in sound. I am so glad to hear you are enjoying the performance of your new soundbar when paired with your Samsung TV!
Have you tried the new Auto EQ Technology featured in your new soundbar? Using a microphone mounted in the subwoofer, this will detect and correct low-frequency response peaks caused by the room dimensions and the subwoofer location, providing you with a more neutral overall low-frequency response. You can activate this feature by pressing the Sound Control button on your remote.

Tried the Bose 900, LG SN10YG but once I heard an in-store demo of the Q950A it was over and I ordered it immediately. Great natural sound and no speaker wires for the rears even though they do require a power outlet. The subwoofer is provides good low end bass for its size. I will say the Samsung app isn’t the greatest and just terrible that the soundbar screen is on the top of the unit. 5 stars for the sound alone.

As a avr & regular speaker kinda guy goin from 8k Denon receiver w/ 5.1.4 Klipsch RP surround to this out of space necessity after moving I am extremely impressed with sound quality & immersion of this set up. I figured I would be bitter everytime turned tv on missing my big regular system but that is not the case. Amazing soundbar, they have come a long way since first came on the scene.

This is a good option for persons who want good audio quality without the complexity of a dedicated setup with an independent receiver and speakers.
Samsung packed a lot of drivers into this product and aimed them all over to try to 'create' a large and detailed sound stage, For the most part they are successful but your mileage will vary based on the dimensions and acoustics of your listening space. They've really pushed the limits of refractive/reflected sound and created an excellent product for those who don't have the space, time or budget for a dedicated atmos build.
As far as consumer level equipment goes, this is a really awesome setup It's easy to setup and easy to use. With enough options that it can be calibrated to sound great in pretty much any room.
That said, if you're a true audiophile you may want to spend the additional 5-800 on a good receiver and get a kit with individual speakers.
Pros:
Easy to setup!
2 HDMI in and 1eARC port eliminate most of the need for switchers or a receiver if you multiple input sources
Pretty decent sound, resolution and channel separation for the size of the drivers.
Cons:
If you surface mount the drivers in the sound bar, satellites and sub are powerful enough to actually vibrate the mounting surfaces. I ended up using SVS and Sound Addicted feet on everything to fight rattles and vibrations.
Can't independently tune the levels of the left and right sound stage. Can be somewhat of a pain if your setup doesn't allow for the speakers to be uniformly laid out.
Rear side firing speakers only work in the AI controlled sound modes, e.g. Surround, Game or Adaptive. Not really a con but if you use standard mode you won't have them. ~at time of writing 3/2/32022 may change in firmware updates~

I love this sound bar. It sounds incredible, and the rear satellites and sub have flawless connectivity.
My only complaints are that when the sound bar is on a surface, the screen is faced up and you can’t see it. I would have liked to be able to see it, but i suppose a lot of people mount these on the wall, and when mounted it has the top facing you. Not a deal breaker, just a minor gripe. The other complaint is the Alexa integration worked for like a day and just will never connect again. I just disconnected it and have a echo dot in my room.

So, yeah, this sound bar sounds amazing. The base is deep and thumpy, and the surround sound bubble this creates is just wonderful. The highs are crisp, the mids have beef, and the base has the necessary weight (very balanced). The only knock i've heard about this bar is that music doesn't sound good, but I ran Tidal (premium music service) through the new apple tv 4k (2nd gen) and it sounded absolutely amazing, especially the atmos tracks.
This is great. I'm so glad I upgraded.

Very good Atmos sound bar, easy to setup, pretty much plug n' play, the rear speakers and woofer automatically connected while I was setting everything up so that was a plus too. Tested it out by watching the TRex scene from JP, oh man, shook the room, no distortions or anything and great immersion. Only minor grips is E-ARC. Sometimes when turning off devices signals get mixed up I guess and sound bar will turn back on. Okay I guess since it auto powers off after a brief few minutes. Other than that great sound bar!

My husband had been wanting a Sound Bar for sometime, so I purchased this for him. We are not experts in this area so a lot of research was done along with reading reviews. The sound is clear, crisp, and powerful; the included Sub Woofer completes the sound with a thumping movie like atmosphere. I wish Samsung would have included the stands for the rear speakers and just add it to the overall cost of the item. They're sitting on the floor till we get the stands. If you're still undecided about getting this item, don't wait too long.

The Dolby Atmos is excellent for a soundbar. However, the problem of the audio delay and some incompatibility from this model is the biggest complaint.

Probably the easiest soundbar surround sound system I’ve ever set up— I literally just plugged the speakers into the wall and they all connected automatically to produce terrific sound! They’ve always turned on automatically when turning on the TV, and I haven’t had to grab the sound remote to adjust the input, so they’ve been great so far. Sound is so real that on more than one occasion I’ve turned my head looking for something/someone, thinking it wasn’t the TV but instead coming from real life lol. Love this soundbar setup!

I'm coming form an Onkyo AVR and 20 year old started speakers. Home renovations eliminated being able to hide wires under carpet, so wireless became a driver, as well as simplicity, and less visual clutter.
Have a LG G1 coming shortly, so got this to set up and tune in the meantime. The box looked like it fell off the truck, but the items were undamaged. It was manufactured in July 2021 so when I registered it, Samsung prorated my warranty by 3 months, giving me 9. A call to them and a copy of the receipt straightened that out but it was disconcerting.
The unit refused to register with Smartthings. Rebooting the Smartthings hub, deleting the app and reinstalling it got passed a server error but hung on the last step of registration. Another call to Samsung, this time to Smartthings support, had it registered in 1/2 an hour. Not exactly seamless, trick that worked was resetting the wifi to factory settings. Go figure.
The app could be better, the voice clarity is hidden, and too many things still need the remote and the control panel is on top so you have to stand in front of it and over it to see it. So no way to confirm you have Atmos unless you get up and block the view. Putting more of the remote functionality into the app would help. And the spouse will complain about no volume numbers visible when seated.
I'm still tweaking it, getting stands for the rears so I can find the best height and placement. But out of the box, it's better sounding than my AVR.
I'm putting the G1 on a Sanus desktop swivel, rather than wall mounting it, and will mount the soundbar off that as well, so I can keep it on my cabinet but swivel the TV and soundbar to the sides as needed. (Have an odd shaped room).
Plenty of people have described the tech of the unit, no need to play that with me. But I'm pretty sure the spouse will both like the look, the freed up clutter and the sound while complaining how loud the room is and lack of knowing what the volume number being used is.

Great sound especially the center voice channel. I recommend buying some long power cables for the satellite speakers if they're going to be mounted on speaker stands. The cables that came with the speakers are pretty short.
Only downside is that the display for the soundbar is located on the top which makes it unreadable unless you get up and stand over the soundbar while changing settings.
